I initially came to eat sitting down for lunch and take a snack to go. When my first salad came it seemed light. I realized there was a good amount of chicken and very little greens. It was hardly a salad. I requested a lil more salad which the employee was nice to give a bit. I tried to submit an order in the app (Apple Pay and credit card details) and kept getting an error message. It turns out they charged my card 5 times ($110) even though they did not actually process the order, and i have to wait to see if I will get a refund. Zero consistency with food and smoothy quality / portions. Very hit or miss. When it's good, it's good 4/5. However when it's bad it can ruin the experience. Flatbreads fat with ingredients one day / completely void of ingredients the next day. Smoothies will either taste like water or clearly have missing ingredients. I've been wanting to check out this neighborhood smoothie spot. I was craving a green smoothie and some of the other places nearby and Mariano's were open or tasting as good. I ordered the island greens smoothie which had pie apple, kale, spinach, and other fruits. They have one size and it's quite big! The young lady that took my order was super helpful and polite and took the curbside order by phone. I ordered the Cali chicken club flatbread and the Detox Island Green smoothie. First off I stay about 17 minutes away from here, and found out about the place with a quick Google search for smoothie bars near me. I enjoyed the smoothie on my way home, it's supposed to have ginger in it however I didn't quite taste it, but the smoothie tasted healthy! Went here yesterday and I was glad I tried it out. The people who work here are super friendly and very prompt with making their order. I placed my order online through the website and I came a bit earlier than I said I would. When I arrived, my drink wasn't ready, but they started making it immediately when I got to the counter. I had a dragonfruit smoothie and it was amazing. They definitely use real fruit and you could definitely tell from the taste. Its a huge 24 oz drink and they totally fill it to the top. They do offer curb side delivery, pick up obviously, and I believe delivery options as well. There is parking by the McDonalds lot next door and right outside of the store entrance so don't have to worry about meters here. A solid gem! I have already been here 3 times, and I can say that this place has become my new favorite lunch spot. Their ingredients are fresh and the recipes are authentic and packed with flavor. Hello, my name is Gina Monegain, I worked at the Tropical Smoothie located in Melrose Park, IL. Recently, I had to quit from this location due to the fact that the management there is terrible. I began working there late May up until early August and within the past couple of months, I have endured several altercations between the manager( Lismary Luciano) and assistant manager( Cynthia Pineada) where they spoke to me as less than and even treated me that way. I have had ex coworkers message me telling me that they have heard Cynthia talk down about me behind my back while i was off the clock, and then when i'm there, she would give me the cold shoulder and speak to me as if i was imcompentant and unable to understand simple tasks. I've gotten into short lived arguments with her over a customer waiting too long for their order, when I was obviously busy trying to take care of other people and she just stood there staring instead of addressing the customer and handling the situation herself. After this, I reached out to the boss, Brian on July 3rd, 2022, explaining to him what happened and i did not get any response from him. Not only did I have this experience with Cynthia, but also with Lismary. As a manager, you're supposed to know how to work with people and provide good customer service as well as knowing how to manage your team, but she isn't able to do that. Instead, she gets frustrated with the people working and calls them derogatory names, ( ex. "Dirty asses," "slow asses", etc) and cusses up a storm and talks about her employees under her breath. She has huge emotional outbursts against her crew members and blames them for mistakes instead of working towards correcting them and helping them improve. Which leads me to my main objective. On august 1st, there was an incident with a customer where i accidently forgot to ring him up for extra chicken for his order. He asked Lismary if i had charged him extra and that if i did not, could he pay extra for the chicken to be added. Lis began getting upset with the customer, claiming he cussed her out ( when he didn't) and then asked him to pull up and wait for his order to be prepared. The customer then came in to the store and i apologized to him and began to ring him up again because he wanted to order something else, and this was when Lis came in yelling at me to not take his order,then asked the customer why he had came in if she told him she was going to remake the food again in a very rude tone, in which the customer replied to her asking why was she being so aggressive to him. She ended up storming off because the customer told her about herself , and while doing so she started talking about me, saying that i don't know how to do my job and that i'm slow and a whole bunch of other things, to which i responded and said that i do my job and have been for the past two months and i do not bother anyone, nor do i appreciate how she's talking to me because i had done nothing to her. I spoke to her boss that day, told him how I felt and he said that he was going to talk to her and handle the situation. The next morning, i opened the store with her, not even an hour into my shift she began nitpicking about small things out of pure pettiness and i respectfully put my things away, clocked out and left the store. I sent her a message that was well written and she responded back to me in the most childish way. I have never had a manager talk to me this way. She threatened to get her daughter to come fight me and called me " easy meat", " trashy and dirty" and many other things. . read more
