Let me share with you the most delightful Vegan Café and Juice Bar that I literally just happen to stumble across, Fruits and Roots in Stuart Florida located across the street from the Colorado Shopping Plaza. While waiting for my mom at her doctor's appointment I was looking for a place to pick up something to eat and noticed this nice green colored building with outdoor seating that said Juice Bar and Vegan Café. Well, this was "right up my alley" and went inside. The whole place is light and bright with corner to corner windows and plenty of seating. There is a chalk board on the wall that let's patrons know that all food is made to order and fresh. Also listed is their "Specials" of the day. The cashier was such a joy to talk and between the Menu Items, Specials of the Day and Soup of the Day, I wanted to try them all. I got the Tuna Chick Wrap and Sunflower Curry Soup and was so impressed on how delicious they both were. All I could think about it, there should be a location like this in Fort Lauderdale as this is where I live, I was just visiting mom in Stuart. On the way out I also bought Spicy Pumpkin Seeds. Fruits and Roots is an absolute Gem of a place and I hope they expand into South Florida, just cant say enough nice things. read more

I so wish we had more time to explore the menu and sit for a meal. If we are in the area, this is one place we will be at. We just ordered smoothies and an açai bowl this time, but everything was delicious and the service was amazing. we let our server know. We only had a few minutes to grab and go, and she rushed our order, even bringing the bill out as soon as possible. I absolutely love that. My favorite healthy vegan restaurant in Martin County. Food is very healthy and delicious: they update the menu specials and I always look forward to what they have. Great outdoor seating where I bring my dog. The hours are 11-6 Mon to Sun so they aren't open for a late dinner. Their smoothies and acai bowls are great too. The portion was on the small side, coming with romaine, half an avocado, quinoa, cherry tomato, black beans, corn, and a bunch of seasoned tempeh strips. Not the most flavourful or well-designed salad, though the tempeh strips were really good. Bit of a dud as a salads go but it was fine. I've been here several times but now that we moved to Palm City, I can say that I'm a regular. Every time we come the food is fantastic. Today I ordered one of the specials, which was so special! I loved it! It was a Sausage Flatbread made out of Sunflowers! For the Little, I got the kid's Acai Bowl and it was a very nice portion, we ended up taking some of it home. The kiddo also loved the Kombucha. Everyone in my party tried "The Goods" and we LOVED it. Literally, the juice was 10/10 stars. For my main dish I got the Zoodle Noodle. For me, this dish was just ok. I am not vegan but my friend with me is. We both agreed that the menu would satisfy anyone - vegan or not. The restaurant was very cutely done and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the (1/2) superfood salad - it was huge and delicious; and it was presented so beautifully. The broccoli soup I would pay to have shipped to my house it was so good. My wife and I loved Fruit and Roots. It was our favorite vegan restaurant, driving up from Jupiter. We decided to drive up for lunch for their bacon burgers and found the menu had been changed which was very disappointing along with a whole new staff. I ordered the burger any way. I tried to order it the way I was used to with the sweet potato fries and when it came it was unrecognizable and the taste and flavor of the fries and the burger were very disappointing to say the least. The burger was, cold and couldn't be eaten. One bite was all I could stand! Maybe it was a off day for the kitchen. Love coming to visit this spot whenever I'm in the area! The grilled cheese (pictured below with gluten free bread) is the best I've ever had. I usually stick to this and rarely branch out to anything else on the menu, solely because it's SO GOOD. Not sure how they get the vegan cheese to melt so perfectly, and it's combined with tomato, pesto, and jalapeños. With the lack of vegan and healthy options in the area, I'd say this is the best around. The menu seems pretty simple, but I was interested in their specials menu more. From that, I got the mushroom French dip which was sautéed mushroom inside hoagies with a side of au jus. Not bad, more one noted. Their coleslaw was different, it wasn't sweet like others but was mildly savory. I got a fresh juice which was good. My colleague got a flat bread (big portion), juice, and a fresh cashew milk. He seemed to enjoy his beverages very much but the flatbread was too hard. On another occasion I got the summer rolls and a smoothie. Great portion for smoothie! And the summer rolls were refreshing. It's been two days since eating the veggie burger on my visit to Stuart, Florida, and I am craving it like a dog craves beef. I love beef! Meat is totally my meal of choice. We are here because of friends. But I admit, I like most vegan places. I'm starting with a cold press juice called "the goods". This place I highly recommend. Hubby and I were visiting our super cool sister-in-law for the day in Florida and wanted to take her out for lunch. She's big into plant-based eating so she chose Fruits & Roots,telling us it was one of her favorite places to eat in town. We don't do a lot of vegan food so we were excited (well, maybe not, but we were at least curious) to check it out, especially after hearing her enthusiastic praise. The restaurant is 100% vegan, which is a ridiculous achievement when you consider the size of the menu. There are lots of very creative options that put a new twist on typical 'healthy' items like salads, smoothie bowls, and fresh juices. Since I try to eat lower carb, I ordered the zucchini 'noodle' bowl for $12. It was a large portion with zoodles, asparagus, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted onion, mushrooms, & cashew 'cheese' tossed in a light basil garlic sauce. I eat zoodles frequently and this dish was tasty. Hubby, a big meat eater, got the TLT ($10), which had tempeh 'bacon' with avocado and lettuce on whole wheat. The fake bacon didn't go over too well, and he ended up picking it off to the side and eating an avocado and lettuce sandwich. He still talks about how gross the vegan bacon was to this day, LOL. At least he tried! (This is not a statement on the restaurant's food in anyway, just a funny meat eater's thoughts about fake bacon -- like, why even bother to fake it in the first place). The best part of our meal was the appetizer we got to share, the gluten free Chilly Chili ($8). It was raw chili served cold, made with sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, almonds and vegetables served with avocado and blue corn chips. This stuff was addictive, but we did notice a tiny hint of an unpleasant aftertaste. Overall a really cool restaurant with a laid back vibe and fair prices considering their commitment to fresh, local produce. If you're not normally a vegan / vegetarian I'm not sure that you'd want to seek this place out, but if you find yourself in the company of plant based fans there are plenty of items that meat lovers can enjoy. Mushrooms, cashew parm, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus, spinach, perfect amount of subtle onion to support other flavors... yum! Oh and that garlic basil sauce was SFG! The panini was similar, but with smoky savory Portabello, and flatbread. They had smoothies and desserts but my Primavera was huge and I couldn't take more. The server was very knowledgeable and very nice and explained everything to me as I asked questions on what I should get. I would like to see them stay open just a little later they are only open till 4 o'clock and I got there around 3:30 Maybe 5pm once in a while would be nice! I got a black bean burger wrap. The only thing is it needed a little spruce which of course it was my first time so if I got it again, I would definitely get it again because it was delicious but I like a little more flavor to my food so I probably would add tomatoes and some red peppers. I have tried many of their juices. Currently drinking Sunergy. It is a bold tasty bend or orange, grapefruit, lemon, gold to beet and ginger. Love the ginger essence! I came here with my wife yesterday on our way to the Air Show and we both left satisfied. She did the ordering and we split both of our meals. She got me the Grilled Cheese and she got the Buffalo Caesar. I ordered on of the lagers they had on tap and we finished off with the daily special cheesecake. My wife is vegan and I always enjoy going checking out the new places she finds. The decor here was pretty cool and the waiter was very friendly. He explained how the owner turned the back tables from a closet to a nook area. It was a very pleasant place to dine on a rainy Florida day.
