This place is absolutely terrible no respect and consideration to people times. I had an event booked at this place from 2-6 pm they stopped the part 15 minutes earlier and wouldn't serve anyone anymore. When we talked to the bartender he said times up your guests had enough. Who is he to determine if my guests had enough or not. When speaking to the manager she said she would give a round of drinks we all waited 15 minutes or more and no one showed up. When going to discuss with the manager again she called the cops. Place is terrible horrible service wouldn't ever recommend someone to have any type of event there. I have had many parties at San Carlo's over the last 20 years. The food and service are always good. I have worked with Jody many times in the past and she has always been a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, I had a repast there today and it was not the same experience. The food and service were good, but Jody was very difficult to work with. When booking a repast, it is very hard to know exactly how many people will be coming. Their policy is that you pay in advance for 80% of the total you are guaranteeing. I have no problem with that. We had people traveling from out of state so I wasn't sure exactly how many would be coming. We thought we would have somewhere between 30 and 40 people. Jody said they would only be willing to set the tables and chairs up in the room for 30 people since that was the guaranteed number. I told her we'd be happy to pay for any additional people that came that day, but, I would appreciate it if she could have additional space set up for other guests that may come. I did not want to have chaos when everyone is arriving and scrambling for chairs. I asked her if she could set up five or six tables with eight chairs at a table. She said that she cannot do that. It would be too much work for her staff. She told me that they have been burnt in the past with people requesting this and then trying not to pay for others that came. I found this very insulting since I have had so many parties here She only wanted to give the number of chairs for the people we were guaranteeing. She wanted to do three tables of 10. I explained to her that it may be difficult to have three tables of 10 since different families come with different amounts of people and it would be better for us to have more tables with more options for people to be able to sit together. She refused to do this. Today when everyone is arriving we wound up having 32 people and tables and chairs only set up for 30. That is really not a big deal since they just had to give a couple more chairs. The problem was that as I had told her there were families of 10 that wanted to sit together and we're not able to. This is a time of grieving for families and it is so disappointing that she had to make it more difficult during this time. I felt it was a simple request and having been a past customer was very disappointed that she couldn't accommodate this. I will not be going back there to host any additional parties read more

I have been to several events here, always fantastic food. The penne vodka and cavatelli & broccoli are always perfect. Interior is a little dated and tacky, but I've been to $150 a plate weddings in sought after venues with sub par food so I like the continuity of this place. read more

I've been to two catered events here, a baby shower and 50th birthday bash. There multiple party rooms and two floors. You can valet you car or go self park across the street but the self park lot is very small. Another option is to park off street but make sure you read the street signs. Because it's located at residential area, you must move your car by 10pm for most streets. Back to the restaurant...as soon as you walk inside, you can check in your coat and let the staff know which party you're looking for and they will tell you which room. The food is decent and service is good. They do have hard floors so bring your dancing shoes if you're going to hire a DJ. I had a fabulous time. I am knocking off one star because they do not have elevators so handicap guests do struggle going up and down the stairs. There is a freight elevator but it is for their staff usage only. read more

The venue is "grandiose" and suitable for events but the food was institutional in quality and preparation. I was offered roast beef, essentially a pile of roast beef slices covered in gravy. The potatoes were rubbery and the vegetables were just steamed and flavorless. I think it's sad that people pay $40 for this kind of meal that resembles airline food. This place was awesome and on point...soon as we got their we were seated, asked what we liked to drink, coffee was ready, waiters were awesome, and food was ready to be served within ten minutes of all the family being their to eat after my great aunts funeral! Came to the San Carlo for a Repass Dinner. Nice room with plenty of space for us to socialize. We started with salad , cheese and crackers and sliced fruit. All were fresh and delicious. We had a buffet. Vodka aka Penne, Eggplant Parmigiana, Meatballs, Sausage and Peppers and a Chicken and lemon dish. Again, all good. Ice cream with pound cake and sliced peaches for dessert. I was here recently for a family gathering and took some time to walk around and take a few pictures to get a sense of the place. San Carlo is a two floor catering hall that is partitioned into individual rooms, most of which seemed on the small side. They served meals buffet style and the staff was quick and helpful. The food was ok and the ambience was nice but the venue seems a bit dated. It could use some work as there are visible scuff marks and damage to most of the walls and the one bathroom looks like the one from my high school. Parking is very tight and very scarce (we parked on a side street). Honestly, I think 3 stars gets a bad rap- this place was not bad by any stretch of the imagination and it's a suitable place with plenty of opportunity for improvement. read more

I have had my jobs holiday party here the past 2 yrs. We all love everything about the San carlo. First the food is excellent, very tasty n plenty. 2nd the staff is what makes it even better. They cater to you entire party, not just to me, but to all of our employees who attend. Staff Very friendly, n just nice ppl. 3rd Plenty of parking onsite. I'm glad we found this hidden gem venue. My best friend and his fiancee got married here 2 days ago (8/2/08) and I was his best man. They had the larger rooms upstairs and it easily accomodated over 150 people. The food was actually quite good. They had lamb chops (superb!), crab cakes, fried shrimp, puff pastry asparagus, baked ziti, vegetable lasagna, deli meats, vegetables & dips, carved meat, sauteed shrimp in garlic butter sauce and much, much more and that was just the cocktail hour!! The dinner was good as well. I had the steak dinner and my better half had the chicken. The steak was tender and had a really good, flavorful gravy on it. The dance floor was large enough to accommodate us all and a good time was had by everyone there. Definitely a good place, although as one commenter wrote, the hot pink might want to be changed out for more of a neutral color. Otherwise its a great venue for a large gathering. read more

Came here for my friends birthday celebration tonight. I think there are several event rooms that you can book. Ours was, I would say, a medium/large size room that can fit 9 large tables that can seat 10 people per table, a photo booth, tables for the food, small dance floor in the center plus DJ and live band. The food was good (= 3 stars). We were served (buffet style): pasta, chicken dish, brisket, sausage, paella, roasted potatoes, green beans with shaved almonds, salad, mozzarella balls and fruit. The paella was a little salty to my taste though. At the end, they served us a plate of dessert that had cookies and different mini pastries. Along with coffee. The servers were fine. They were prompt and if anyone asked them anything (I.e. brining in extra chairs) they were very responsive. Parking is limited. I think many have to park on the street. read more

I came upon this place after being invited to my sister in law's wedding. My goodness, the food was amazing, the cocktail hour felt like it was dinner, they had steak, mushrooms, turkey, salad, Italian bread and all the fixings. The staff were amazing and they were very cordial toward the guests. The management let us hang out in the room after we came from the church about an hour earlier than the cocktail hour, it was 99 degrees outside, and nice and cool inside. Decor was decent- nice nothing too high end but nothing to complain about! I was here for a sweet 16 and I'm not sure if the quality of the food they put out for this package was sub-par bc of the audience and purchasing a "sweet 16" package but I thought the food (buffet) was gross. They added a sub sandwich onto the package which I think was the best thing offered. I really barely ate anything on my plate except salad. Even the antipasti had a funny taste to it, especially the mozzarella. There were chicken wings that I heard were good but I don't like wings. The hot food (standard roasted veggies, eggplant, pasta and chicken something) were really very unpleasant. 3 stars bc of venue but food would have been a 2. We had our October 9, 2015 reception at the San Carlo and it was an affair to remember. Out guests are still telling us what a great wedding it was 9 months later. From our first meeting with Justine she went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. They went out of their way to do a special tasting for us to include barbecue because my husband had mentioned a special interest in that type of food. We had a cocktail style reception with a huge assortment of hot and cold foods with many different stations and things to choose from. No one left our wedding hungry. We had our son's college graduation party at this restaurant in June and there are not enough words to express how impressed we were with the service, food and overall experience. We booked our party with Gina who is simply amazing!! She always made us feel as if we were her only customers -- anything we asked, she delivered. The room was absolutely beautiful and if this wasn't enough -- the food was the talk of the night. Our guests could not get over how much food they were given and they raved about the overall quality of the food as well. Came to San Carlo for a family event for which we had our own room. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and all of the staff were attentive and friendly. There was plenty of room for everyone to move around and for the kids to play. The food was served buffet style, starting with salad, bread, cheese and fruit. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone. We recently had a graduation party for our children. I will say the food was good, however, candy bar provided was pathetic for the price we paid. The biggest issue is the owner of the establishment and his treatment of the patrons. We had a minor issue with chaperones that turned into an all out verbal war. The way this owner spoke to us was utterly disgusting and completely unprofessional. We are a group of local parents and residents who have given this establishment many, many years of business. The demeaning and patronizing manner in which he spoke to us was completely unacceptable and overshadowed anything positive about our experience there. After having a graduation dinner this past weekend at the San Carlo, I can officially say that I am very impressed and truly has a wonderful experience at this venue. The staff was wonderful from planning the little details to making sure everything was on point that day. Every single one of the guests attending the party had nothing but great things to say about the San Carlo, and everyone was very pleased with the food. My family is full of critics when it comes to food, and everyone found the food to be delicious and the portions to be great. Also the staff was very good at making sure to refill drinks at each table promptly. The staff here is VERY RUDE, no manners whatsoever, especially Justina and the older gentleman. Trying to work with them for arranging an event and they hang up on you if they feel they've spent too much time on you already. We tried to order extra food for an event a week in advance and they wouldn't even let us order more food and they said the event was "just a shower" and not worth any extra time on their part to even answer any questions on the phone that we had and they "already spent too much time" on an event that wasn't very important. They make it clear they need no one's business. They have no problem hanging up on paying customers. Yes, we called with questions regarding our event and they HUNG UP on us. If you are considering planning an event here I highly recommend that you go ANYWHERE else. so when are they going to get their elevator fixed. i recently attended a repast in a room downstairs. it seems every time i go to this location the elevator "is not working". food was fine but they overcharged my in-law. i counted the room twice for him and gave him the number. the san remo counted the number of chairs set up and charged him for 3 extra people. he was so involved with the loss of a loved one that he did not say anything. if you go there, make sure you watch out for the overcharge. read more

Very disappointed. Went here for an event and was suggested by a few people to host my bridal shower here that had parties here as well. The party was enjoyable food was good but the office help was not so great. I was so excited to go in and speak to someone about booking a party here just to be let down and discouraged. I was told to speak to Justina but she was busy and someone suggested to speak to Justine. They closed at 5 and it was about 4:45 so We walked in and spoke to Justine. I was asked what we were looking for when we said a bridal shower. She said okay and took out menus. I already new the menus because I looked on there website. She asked if we had a date in mind and I said no we were open to dates and she looks rather annoyed that she had a look up and find out what they had available. I asked her if the price was negotiable because she said they had one package which is not what they showed online. They had three packages and we were inbetween the two. We were asking all the questions and she was just sitting there asking them and not being of help at all, please keep in mind we were standing we were not even asked to sit down. We were told that the $12.95 packages were only for a repass or quick brunch even though it did not say that ANYWHERE on the site. After being told the prices are already cheap and theres nothing they could do we just left frustrated. I've been in customer service for years and I just booked a wedding and I have never been treated like that before. When you're in event planning you should be happy and excited and make a person excited and want to be book at your place and we were far from that. Needless to say I don't care how great your food is or how nice the place is ( which is not wow anyways) I'm not going to book somewhere where don't feel appreciated or my business is not wanted. read more
