The place is pretty tiny, so I would recommend getting items to go. They play hispanic music for ambiance. I could see her making the smoothie and they used a fresh coconut!! He watched her make it. the sweetener was honey. He said everything was fresh. He thinks there might be some kind of gelato added to it. He doesn't know. I wish he knew because I'd like to make it at home. The location is in a strip mall with not a lot of stores. It is adjacent to the laundromat where we were doing laundry. You got to love a small family owned business like this one and not just because the family is very nice and welcoming, but also because they make so great eats as well. I stopped in after work for an early dinner and noticed a club sandwich special with one side for $5.99 and I was all in. I asked for them to make the club on a multi-grain bread and for my side, I had the macaroni salad. The club came with the traditional deli ham, turkey, and crispy bacon. Also, it had American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and instead of your traditional mayo, they put a little bit of their own style and add a nice spread of chipotle mayo which offer just a touch of heat. It was a great club and I liked the way they toasted the bread. The macaroni salad was good and had nice flavor. I would however ease up on the dressing. A hidden gem kinda tucked away in Spring Valley. This family owned business is the bee's knees, man. The food is good (and decently priced), and there are authentic Latinx drinks and sweets. I felt very welcomed coming in, and I appreciated that the owner was more than willing to explain items to me on the menu that I did not know. I ordered three chicken tacos, and had a popsicle with fresh fruit. There were both red and green salsas available, guacamole, lemons, onion and cilantro, and radish circles. 3rd time to this place and I was surprised by the zero effort being put into this place. It felt like walking into someone's messy dining/living room. Stuff pilled up on one side of the room with a large table in the middle and loud cartoon show being played for a child. The food was ok, I ordered an orange water and it taste like tang and not fresh. The fruit salad was good but I'm not convinced to come back. They are following Covid protocol with a mouth covering but it's just a plastic guard and not fully covered and they put it on once you come in. Worst experience ever. The kitchen, which is very well seen from the front counter was very nasty. Dishes everywhere, wrappers everywhere. They even had product laying on the lobby's table where people come in. In the entrance they have a casino machine where a drunk guy was playing with no mask. We were so excited to come the fruteria that we had to order a bit of everything, and will be doing so again in the future! Tostilocos are muy delicioso and perfectly balanced in flavor. The torta de lomo was a first for us and will probably be one of our go tos from now on. The bolillo bread tasted like it was made en la cocina de mi abuela and the sauce that la señora makes is out of this world and goes perfectly with the torta. We washed it down with a classic root beer float and had an açai bowl for dessert. We also had to purchase a fruit plate to go just in case we needed midnight munchies. I can't wait to come back to this awesome little fruteria! The family is so nice and welcoming. Victor is a great guy to sit down and have a chat with. No mask, no gloves. The person cooking the tacos outside sneezed without covering himself and went on to cook the tacos. They are absolutely not following any Covid-19 guidelines of safety. Customers come in without masks. The place just looks dirty in itself and all three employees on sight were not wearing masks and handling my food with their bare hands.
