I also ordered something called the "Bravocado" toast, which is a type of avocado toast with a hardboiled egg on top, and a spicy tomato sauce. Both items were delicious, light, and an overall healthy, enjoyable lunch. By ordering both of these items, they were part of a Pick 2 combo, so there was a discount. Make sure if you would like to order the Pick 2 Combo special, you ask one of the ladies at check out which items qualify. I also had a dollar off mailer coupon which made my order even cheaper. Went there over the weekend to buy two regular sized bowls and was charged $25.00. When she started making them I questioned why they were using the smaller sized square containers instead of the larger round containers which I had paid for and was told they had ran out of them? I love a good smoothie and I saw this place as I was driving by. It's a small place with a simple menu. Everything is made fresh to order so the wait may be a bit if the line is long, but the girls working here banged out orders pretty quick. The Brazilian smoothie I ordered was pretty good. It is the people that work and own the Howell NJ Frutta Bowl location. i think this the one that started the franchises. anyway any time you go in there it is a hassle. computer doesn't work, problems with payment check out and rewards. forget it! they don't want you to be able to track rewards. the staff always has an attitude. they just recently put out a coupon in Entertainment Dining Advantage for 50% off any item max value $5.00 ok you say. sounds good. NOT. i place an order show the coupon and immediately the attitude. i don't know anything about the coupon. oh and then the owner comes out takes a look and says they won't honor the coupon. Very interesting place. I got a pitaya bowl and the lady got an acai bowl. Both were delicious, healthy and refreshing. Prices are just right, the bowl looks much smaller than it really is, I got protein in mine to make sure I was full. I think the acai was better so next time will try that. This place just opened right by my house and it's dangerous. I think this place was much needed in the area. There's no place like it anywhere around Central Jersey and if there is... I have yet to find it. The decor is unique when you walk in and very different compared to ice cream shops, frozen yogurt shops... this is much more homey. I love the fact that you can order from the people from the counter or you can order on your own using these iPads they have. They have a decent amount of seating: some couches, bar stools, tables, etc. The menu is simple enough and you can substitute anything. The prices are extremely decent considering the size of the product. These are not small bowls and a picture does not do it justice. I shared a bowl with my friend and it was enough product for both of us. We got the Frutta Bowl which was acai, granola, kiwi, strawberries, chocolate & peanut butter. It also had bananas but I hate bananas so I substituted it for mango instead. After you order, you can see your order on a board on the side and then you will know when your order is ready and where you are in line if it isn't. This place is a great concept and much needed. I will definitely be back. I don't know if they have it... but they need punch cards. Maybe get 5 bowls, then get 1 free - something along those lines. Came in to order acai bowl. to my utter dismay, horror, and disbelief my order was assembled by a cashier -- a completely aloof cashier - with brown, dirty plastic gloves. Beyond the gloves appearing unsightly and dirty, my girlfriend and I both witnessed the cashier use these gloves to count the change and then proceeded to handle all of the food for the acai bowl with said dirty gloves. Delicious, fruity, and sweet (from the fruits, not from added sugar), Frutta Bowls is a great healthy option for a snack or dessert. I actually enjoyed the pitaya bowl here more than some of the others I've had elsewhere, since it was sweet and not too sour. I am a regular customer there, but will not go back. Their customer service is terrible. Their website says closes at 9:00 pm, (which I checked before I drove over, to be sure they were open). I drove 15 minutes away to get a bowl at 6:30pm, and was greeted at the door by a snotty kid with "oh, we're closed" I said "really? Your website says 9:00." To which his reply was " oh, that's corporate". Back and forth for 5 minutes, after I told him I drove 15 minutes, and could you make me a bowl etc..." "No, we were suppose to close at 6, but we're waiting for a customer to pick up their order, you should have ordered ahead" "Really?!" Now he's telling me what I should have done?! What HE should have done for a regular customer is drop the attitude, and say "oh I'm sorry for the mix up, what can I get you?" No attitude, no back and forth. Clearly they never heard of "the customer is always right", and "make the customer happy". Just thinking about it I'm so SAD that I probably won't have again it until next year when I visit NJ again. It's a bowl of acai berry yogurt, but it doesn't have that yogurt flavor, it's more like a thick smoothie consistency, then on top is strawberries, bananas, blueberries, granola, dried coconut then drizzled with Nutella and peanut butter. I was very disappointed in Frutta Bowls. The shop just opened in a shopping center near me so I thought I'd try it. My bowl came out wrong and the base was completely frozen. I couldn't even eat it. I had to send it back and then proceeded to wait 15 minutes for a new bowl. My friend waited over 20 minutes for her bowl which is unacceptable. I have been to the Freehold one and the girls were very nice and professional, without errors and the orders were quick The Howell one took a very long time for us to get our bowl and smoothie and same for the other customers While we were sitting there, the staff made several errors! One guy came in saying he ordered online and it didn't go through, one girl got a smoothie and the guy gave it to her-I saw her wiping down the cup, he gave it to her with the smoothie all over lid and outside of the cup and almost forgot one ingredient in hers and then they messed up another girls order. No customer service-no greetings when we walked in or left. The staff seemed very disorganized. We ordered the oatmeal bowl and the aqui was frozen and my boyfriend couldn't eat it. I've never had an acai bowl before, so this is purely on my experience here and how I like the bowl. I ordered the Frutella bowl because they girl said it was one of the most popular. She was helpful in explaining the bowls and their acai, pitaya which I was always at a loss to. Took about 5 minutes to make, which is cool (no one was in there at the time). The bowl is tasty, but very cold (I think she said the acai part is partially frozen). I ordered on a cloudy cool day, so that's my bad. But it is very tasty. The bowl did look quite small when I took it out of my bag (especially for 10$). I was super hungry and only ate half of my bowl, so that's surprising. Still not sure if it was worth 10$ but I will be back for more. read more
