Seemed like an impressive Nutella bowl full of fruit. Lovely arrangement of strawberry bananas and granola to top it. I do find it to be incredibly expensive for what you are getting though. Honestly for $16.50 for a regular no bells and whistles menu item and not even something super filling this is not going to be a place I frequent. I ordered ahead of time and picked it up right on the boardwalk within 10 min. Thank goodness I did because the line to order was out the door. Easy and convenient. On a rare Monday, my partner's family and I came to Asbury Park to illustrate what the Jersey Shore is all about. The boardwalk was clean and walking manageable. Atmosphere was refreshing with the ocean breeze. We gathered a thirst and decided to come to this establishment. There are 2 locations in Asbury Park - Cookman Ave and on the boardwalk. During the weekend depending on the time, the Playa Bowl on the boardwalk gets busy and the line full of patrons goes out to the door. We ordered a couple of smoothies (strawberry banana (strawberry banana, coconut milk) Aloha (banana, mango, pineapple, coconut milk). Though their selection is huge, we were a bit disappointed as the smoothies were tasteless. However, while waiting for our order, we'll try the bowls the next time as they looked delicious. read more

Delicious and fresh!!! We've tried playa bowls elsewhere so we had pretty good expectations and they were met! The açaí bowls are perfectly made, great selections, fresh and delicious! Their smoothies are also a great hit! Their summerade smoothie is mouth watering good! Definitely a great smoothie to try, we all enjoyed the refreshing taste with loads of flavor but not overwhelming. Their strawberry banana smoothies is also really good, we've had it before at another one of their locations and this one was right on point! Very cheap with my bowl and didn't even fill it up wiht the fruit. i've never received such a small and cheap drizzle of nutella in a bowl from playabowls and so when I asked for more nicely I got attitude and comments under the ladies breath. She then gave me and my friend looks with her coworker. I will never be coming back because of her!! And this place already upcharges so much so I should've got the service I deserved. Girlfriend and I wanted Playa Bowls, so I decided to call to make sure they were open before walking there. I called at 8:06PM and the girl on the phone said they were open until 9 PM. Proceeded to walk over a mile down the boardwalk and got there at 8:27PM. The staff ran in the back to hide and the doors were locked. A guy finally made eye contact and tried shooing us away before finally coming to the door to tell me they were closed. The hours on the door even said they were open until 10PM on Saturday. This happened today on July 15th. I don't know if it's poor management or just a lazy staff? Who knows, its probably both. read more

I love the Playa Bowl chains and enjoyed my Pink Flamingo smoothie bowl here. They were quick on a weekday morning and they perfectly blended it with plenty of toppings. I liked the ratio of granola and fruit to smoothie, it was almost perfect but I am someone who loves toppings. You could grab a lid and spoon from the counter just across from the door by the way, although I didn't get a lid and just enjoyed it on one of the boardwalk benches facing the ocean. Had a great experience here while on the beach! Everyone was safe and wearing masks and they had a max # of people allowed inside to order. My playa bowl was Delicious!! I got a nutelloco and always enjoy it. A great light lunch idea while on the beach which is why the boardwalk location is perfect! A great size too. This place is a must-go-to if you're at the beach in Asbury! The owner is so friendly and the fruit is fresh! On a hot day sitting on the beach, I was craving some fruit so I stopped in like most people on the boardwalk. They were busy and (during Covid times) the line seemed long. Great customers service, a blonde lady who I think is the owner or manager she was very helpful. She's actually was assiting the cashier by prepping the orders before they got to cashier register. She took are order since we had a small transaction, preventing us from waiting in a line. The place has local vibe to it, extra fans are in there to cool you off, clean, and great food. read more

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. They have a sign that says they are open till 10pm on Friday's and Saturday's. We tried to enter at 8:59pm and they had the doors locked. They didn't even acknowledge us while other people were in there purchasing items. So they open the doors to let the people in there leave and said that they close at 9pm and we asked why the sign said 10pm and she said her boss said to close at 9pm. 5 other people tried to come in as well. This is an establishment on the boardwalk where most places are open pretty late, but at least stay open until your sign you have specifically made for the window put for everyone to see says. Would make sense,right? I'm pretty disappointed about this and find it unacceptable that you close well before your sign says. read more
