I really wanted to like this place after a few reviews I saw on TikTok, but I didn't really enjoy my meal. The food was *very* greasy. So much so, it was actually dripping when I picked up the frybread. The fries were also saturated with grease and were floppy and soft. The food didn't even look the same as what I saw on TikTok, so I'm not sure if I came on an "off" day or what. Maybe they had a different cook that day. Not sure. The other thing that is frustrating about this place is the hours are not consistent. It says they're open until 7pm but I've tried coming a few times and the place was closed even though the hours online say it's open. Burger was phenomenal. The patty itself was expertly seasoned, and the sauce, cheese, and lettuce complimented it perfectly, while not even being necessary because the patty was so great. The frybread was crispy, while also soft, and was a lovely textural addition. I also ordered the hot honey chicken stuffed frybread and wouldn't get that again--the filling all sank to the bottom and it literally poured grease upon picking it up. Was looking for something for lunch in the area and I'm always up for something different. I can't say I was familiar with Frybread the food or location, but thought I'd give it a try. Upon entering the establishment, was greeted by Willie the owner. He couldn't be friendlier and was happy to talk about the various offerings as well his indigenous culture. I have a habit of over ordering when I'm indecisive, so I sampled a decent amount of food, but left some for next time. Started with the chicken stuffed frybread. I should start by saying that all sauces are made in house. Willie will tell you, he likes to cook and experiment, and these sauces demonstrate trial and error as they were all good and complimented the food really well. I had the gansett as a bowl. The spicy sauce was made with garden grown ghost peppers. It had good flavor and some kick, but far from outrageous spice, just great flavor. I got some pizza to go. A special that day was a quahog pizza, so I had to try it. It was like having a really good clams casino on pizza. Nice clam flavor complimented by the sauce and bacon. Delicious. I'll also add the house made lemonade was great and he can make it to your desired sweetness. All in all, it was a really positive experience. The place is colorful but small and only has three or four small tables to eat and the food took a bit to arrive, but the flavors and Willie himself overshadowed those things and made for a 5 star experience. read more

More like 4.5 Stars so went 5 Stars as I want to see this place succeed!! Go check this place out - what a spectacular spot! We were out and about and decided to go here for lunch. Street parking only from what we could tell. When we got there, Willie the owner told us he just changed his open days to include Tuesday so we lucked out. He wasn't fully prepared but made us feel extremely welcomed and was super friendly and personable. The spot is small but cozy - 2 tables and a few barstools for dine in. We enjoyed EVERYTHING we had. The stuffed frybreads were yummilicious - all of the sauces that came with the frybreads were delicious. The hot honey was chef's kiss - sweet with a nice kick as well as the spicy mayo - great balance of flavors. Willie told us his sauces are made in house and they did not disappoint - complimented the frybreads perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken sandwich (The Marcia Sandwich - named after his mom ). Prob among the best chicken sandwiches I've had - that hot honey, I tell ya - try it. I was so full so had to pack the rest of it to go. We ordered a few pizzas to go as well - haven't had them yet but I can't imagine they aren't just as good. We did have to wait a little bit as he wasn't fully prepared for a full day's service but all of the food was well worth the wait. The star here is def Willie. He displays so much pride in his food and Native American heritage and I respect that immensely. Will was so incredibly helpful, working out a custom catering order for me within a very strict timeframe. We did a huge tray of frybread with a killer cheese sauce for a group of ~20 or so people. I couldn't try the frybread myself (I'm gluten free, ugh) but it was a huge hit with my guests. Will went out of his way to make me a little dinner bowl that I could actually eat - it was SO good but I ate it so fast that I barely registered what was in it. We discovered Frybread through RI Food Fights 'Taco Mania!'. It's a small spot on Main St near the mill buildings in West Warwick. There's plenty of parking on the side streets adjacent to the building. We ordered the Gansett Frybread Tacos, which aren't traditional tacos, but basically overstuffed open face tacos on frybread. They were delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful in deciding what we should try (although everything on the menu sounded fantastic!). Tried this out after seeing a few posts online. I was excited to try out some Native / Indigenous inspired dishes. It was so good. There is parking right next door in the Family Dollar lot. There's an order up counter and a few small tables. We ordered the Factory and Hen sandwiches, which come on the famous frybread with pickles and fries. We also ordered the street corn. Everything was so good. Very unique flavors and it was such a great combination of textures. Can't wait to come back and try more. They feature some unique art on the wall and there is native handmade jewelry available for sale. Everything comes out in to go containers, so I would have loved the option to have my food on a plate (even paper or a paper boat would have been good) to save the plastic. Took family in and was not impressed. If you like a doughboy sandwich then this is the place for you. Prices on the high end. They were moving out the business while we ate. No air conditioning. Small menu. Owners seemed really nice but clueless as to running a restaurant. We called ahead of going and you would have thought they would mention they were in the process of moving and by the way no pizza available because of move. Said they are moving downtown hope business goes better for them there. They sure didn't scout this area before opening. No parking-no air conditioning-extremely small seating area. Some of family said food was okay but wouldn't go back. Sorry but you need to up your game to compete. We did call before going and asked if we could eat in at which time was not told air conditioning was not working and that menu was shortened as too hot for pizza oven. Also note that my reference to taste of "frybread" tasting like doughboy was based on consistency and taste not anything to do with your cultural heritage. I do respect your culture which is why we were excited to try your restaurant out. My sister and I stopped in after shopping, I never would've heard of this place if it wasn't for an Instagram review I saw & I live on Aquidneck Island so being in W Warwick is rare.. Burgers were delicious, the bun was unique like a mini doughboy without all the sugar.. pickles were yummy and the fries perfectly cooked. We tried one of their lemonades, I had the strawberry, little pieces of strawberry in there, very good but very sweet.... Service was slow but there was only 1 person working for awhile & then we saw someone come in, not the servers fault, she was working hard & there seems to be a rush all at once.. I stopped in for the RI Food Fest Weiner Challenge. They do a traditional wiener. I have to admit I was a little disappointed that they didn't ease fry bread for the roll. However, it was a solid entry into the challenge. I also ordered their buffalo wings. Those were really good although I have to say they weren't buffalo flavored. They were very unique and had a lot of kick to them. These were not for weak stomachs! They are relatively new. I think they're still working out the kinks. For example the counter staff spent a lot of time in the kitchen and you couldn't get their attention to put in an order. This is something a bell could fix. The restaurant itself only has a few seats so you may want to consider taking the food to go. This place had a solid 5 star rating from me. I couldn't stop singing its praise. Even through initial growing pains - the food and service always made up for any wait, missing items, etc. But here I am - down to 3 stars. Why you ask? They have already started changing some of the staple items that make them so amazing. 1) French Fries. They had the best. Hands down. Seasoned - perfectly cooked. They have since moved to mushy and think shoe strings - without a single grain of seasoning. Please - please - please - bring back the old fries. 2) Portion Size I've seen drastic difference in "sandwich" and side size. The value was there before - now - not so much. 3) Inconsistency. After being in business for this long - there needs to be some sense of consistency. And there just isn't. Some days everything is perfect. Some it's a ball of grease. Some days the pizza is perfect. Some it is a floppy mess. 4) Drinks I love the idea of supporting local - but this place desperately needs options. Either a small fountain or canned options of national brands. Constantly out of beverages and the teas/lemonades - while tasty - are far too expensive. I am a die hard fan. But I'm slipping for sure. read more

Wow! This place is amazing! We visited during the RI Food Fights Tacomania and this was one of our first stops. I ordered the Gansett tacos which were on fry bread and were topped with ground beef, chorizo, bean chili, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, hot sauce, sour cream, and cheese. My companion ordered the Pequat, which was a smoked salmon taco with maple honey, avocado, berry slaw, and cilantro. Both were absolutely amazing. The frybread is made fresh to order, so be prepared to wait a little while, but oh my goodness, it's so worth it as it is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and has just a hint of sweetness. So delicious! We also split the Lemon Blueberry crunch frybread for dessert, and it was just as amazing, with real whipped cream and sweet berries. Well, Chef Will has done it again! I was craving something, anything, from Frybread. As I perused the menu I was struck by two of my most prominent pregnancy cravings - chicken wings & Mozambique sauce. So I placed my order, and added The Marcia chicken sandwich, because again, pregnancy cravings. I waddled myself in and picked up the food. Chef Will was friendly as always, and gave me a loyalty card, heck yeah. Guys, the chicken wings are cooked to perfection, the chicken was moist, the crunch factor was on point, and the Mozambique sauce was quite literally finger-licking good. Baby is happily kicking away from this meal. The Marcia- a fried chicken sando with home-made hot honey, berry slaw and tomato was likewise perfectly cooked, the hot honey and berry slaw set off a wonderful flavor combo. Me and my partner discovered frybread through our Lord of the Wings pass, and we are SO glad we did. Everything we tried was absolutely amazing. We ordered the blueberry wings, buffalo wings, and the lemon-blueberry frybread, and every single item exceeded our expectations. My husband and I came by to try something new. It was a little busy but we were greeted by the staff right away. We asked the woman at the counter what she would suggest for us to eat. Excellent experience at this newly opened hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop! The place is clean and cheery with just a few tables for eating in and the folks running it were super nice. They specialize in "indigenous fusion" chicken sandwiches and tacos and I particularly appreciate a place that has a legitimate vegetarian offering that doesn't feel like an afterthought. The Hen sandwich was absolutely delicious-- fried hen of the woods mushrooms with spinach and butternut squash served on their signature fry bread. The fry bread sauce (a little like a garlicky aioli) makes this extra craveable. It's a four napkin sandwich! The Factory-- fried chicken with lettuce, tomatoes, and house made pickles-- also got rave reviews. There's lots of interesting options on the menu. I've been coming here since June! It's amazing! Will is very personable, the food is incredible, one so good that it literally almost brought me to tears. Love the environment.
