Gansett bowl w/rice, spicy hot sauce on the side
    Steve A.

Was looking for something for lunch in the area and I'm always up for something different. I can't say I was familiar with Frybread the food or location, but thought I'd give it a try. Upon entering the establishment, was greeted by Willie the owner. He couldn't be friendlier and was happy to talk about the various offerings as well his indigenous culture. I have a habit of over ordering when I'm indecisive, so I sampled a decent amount of food, but left some for next time. Started with the chicken stuffed frybread. I should start by saying that all sauces are made in house. Willie will tell you, he likes to cook and experiment, and these sauces demonstrate trial and error as they were all good and complimented the food really well. I had the gansett as a bowl. The spicy sauce was made with garden grown ghost peppers. It had good flavor and some kick, but far from outrageous spice, just great flavor. I got some pizza to go. A special that day was a quahog pizza, so I had to try it. It was like having a really good clams casino on pizza. Nice clam flavor complimented by the sauce and bacon. Delicious. I'll also add the house made lemonade was great and he can make it to your desired sweetness. All in all, it was a really positive experience. The place is colorful but small and only has three or four small tables to eat and the food took a bit to arrive, but the flavors and Willie himself overshadowed those things and made for a 5 star experience.

More like 4.5 Stars so went 5 Stars as I want to see this place succeed!! Go check this place out - what a spectacular spot! We were out and about and decided to go here for lunch. Street parking only from what we could tell. When we got there, Willie the owner told us he just changed his open days to include Tuesday so we lucked out. He wasn't fully prepared but made us feel extremely welcomed and was super friendly and personable. The spot is small but cozy - 2 tables and a few barstools for dine in. We enjoyed EVERYTHING we had. The stuffed frybreads were yummilicious - all of the sauces that came with the frybreads were delicious. The hot honey was chef's kiss - sweet with a nice kick as well as the spicy mayo - great balance of flavors. Willie told us his sauces are made in house and they did not disappoint - complimented the frybreads perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken sandwich (The Marcia Sandwich - named after his mom ). Prob among the best chicken sandwiches I've had - that hot honey, I tell ya - try it. I was so full so had to pack the rest of it to go. We ordered a few pizzas to go as well - haven't had them yet but I can't imagine they aren't just as good. We did have to wait a little bit as he wasn't fully prepared for a full day's service but all of the food was well worth the wait. The star here is def Willie. He displays so much pride in his food and Native American heritage and I respect that immensely. I love that he embraces his culture and wants to share that with the world - keep at it, we plan to go back!

Will was so incredibly helpful, working out a custom catering order for me within a very strict timeframe. We did a huge tray of frybread with a killer cheese sauce for a group of ~20 or so people. I couldn't try the frybread myself (I'm gluten free, ugh) but it was a huge hit with my guests. Will went out of his way to make me a little dinner bowl that I could actually eat - it was SO good but I ate it so fast that I barely registered what was in it. I remember chicken, rice, corn, housemade pickles, & an incredible sauce. I will absoluuuuuutely be back for that. Thank you, Frybread, for catering my event!

If you haven't been to Frybread in West Warwick yet, you're seriously missing out! This new-ish Indigenous fusion spot is a hidden gem - mostly takeout but with a few cozy tables in its cheerful little space. Let's talk about this dessert: Lemon Blueberry Crunch Frybread. It's everything all at once - savory & sweet, crunchy & creamy, bright with lemon, bursting with blueberries & impossibly light. Warm meets cold, juicy meets crisp... pure magic on a plate! No matter what else I'm ordering at Frybread, I am ALWAYS getting this dessert. One of these days, Chef Will might be able to talk me into trying the Strawberry Crunch Frybread dessert! Highly recommend. NOM NOM NOM #YUM

We discovered Frybread through RI Food Fights 'Taco Mania!'. It's a small spot on Main St near the mill buildings in West Warwick. There's plenty of parking on the side streets adjacent to the building. We ordered the Gansett Frybread Tacos, which aren't traditional tacos, but basically overstuffed open face tacos on frybread. They were delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful in deciding what we should try (although everything on the menu sounded fantastic!). If you're in the area, this place is a must stop, you won't be disappointed.

Tried this out after seeing a few posts online. I was excited to try out some Native / Indigenous inspired dishes. It was so good. There is parking right next door in the Family Dollar lot. There's an order up counter and a few small tables. We ordered the Factory and Hen sandwiches, which come on the famous frybread with pickles and fries. We also ordered the street corn. Everything was so good. Very unique flavors and it was such a great combination of textures. Can't wait to come back and try more. They feature some unique art on the wall and there is native handmade jewelry available for sale. Everything comes out in to go containers, so I would have loved the option to have my food on a plate (even paper or a paper boat would have been good) to save the plastic. Otherwise excellent experience.

The Hen and home made French fries. Delicious !!!! Fusion of veggies.

It's so freakin great to find a place with different food besides another grindah and pizza shop . Fry Bread is amazing ! The staff there are warm.and friendly. The owner works hard at putting out some of the best and different food, I've had in years. Their lemonade is wild! Everything is fresh ingredients and home made. I can't wait to go back!

Delicious Pequot bowl- hot honey salmon, berry slaw, rice, street corn, and my favorite kind of pickles.

Well, Chef Will has done it again! I was craving something, anything, from Frybread. As I perused the menu I was struck by two of my most prominent pregnancy cravings - chicken wings & Mozambique sauce. So I placed my order, and added The Marcia chicken sandwich, because again, pregnancy cravings. I waddled myself in and picked up the food. Chef Will was friendly as always, and gave me a loyalty card, heck yeah. Guys, the chicken wings are cooked to perfection, the chicken was moist, the crunch factor was on point, and the Mozambique sauce was quite literally finger-licking good. Baby is happily kicking away from this meal. The Marcia- a fried chicken sando with home-made hot honey, berry slaw and tomato was likewise perfectly cooked, the hot honey and berry slaw set off a wonderful flavor combo. The fries are fine, but I'm not into most French fries anyway. The house made pickles are fab as always!

Blueberry wings and the buffalo wings

Me and my partner discovered frybread through our Lord of the Wings pass, and we are SO glad we did. Everything we tried was absolutely amazing. We ordered the blueberry wings, buffalo wings, and the lemon-blueberry frybread, and every single item exceeded our expectations. The blueberry wings were hands-down one of the most unique and delicious flavors we've had. It was perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, cooked to perfection, and incredibly flavorful. The buffalo wings were just as impressive: crispy, juicy, and coated in a bold, buffalo sauce that wasn't overpowering. And the lemon-blueberry frybread OMG. Light, fluffy, and perfectly fried, with a lemon flavor and just the right amount of blueberry sweetness. It was honestly unforgettable and easily one of the best desserts Ive had in a long time. On top of the incredible food, the owner was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better along with the ambiance. You can tell there's real care and pride put into both the food and the customer experience. If you're using the Lord of the Wings pass or just looking for something different and delicious, Frybread is a must try. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for bold flavors and something truly special and unique.

Frybread is like a hidden gem and was on our list to visit for Lord of the Wings. Upon entering and being greeted and given the options available we wanted to try a different flavor wing. I ordered the blueberry wings and my partner stuck to buffalo wings. The wings were seasoned well and flavorful. The sauce was very tasty but I appreciated that it was not drenched in sauce and that the wings were very crispy and cooked to perfection. I liked how everything was made fade fresh, you can tell there was love behind the food. Our child who normally is picky demolished his kids meal and for dessert we definitely wanted to try the lemon blueberry Frybread and was surprisingly happy with how good it was.

Wow! This place is amazing! We visited during the RI Food Fights Tacomania and this was one of our first stops. I ordered the Gansett tacos which were on fry bread and were topped with ground beef, chorizo, bean chili, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, hot sauce, sour cream, and cheese. My companion ordered the Pequat, which was a smoked salmon taco with maple honey, avocado, berry slaw, and cilantro. Both were absolutely amazing. The frybread is made fresh to order, so be prepared to wait a little while, but oh my goodness, it's so worth it as it is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and has just a hint of sweetness. So delicious! We also split the Lemon Blueberry crunch frybread for dessert, and it was just as amazing, with real whipped cream and sweet berries. This is a tiny restaurant with counter service, and everyone working was super nice and friendly. I hope we can go back soon!

My husband and I came by to try something new. It was a little busy but we were greeted by the staff right away. We asked the woman at the counter what she would suggest for us to eat. She suggested the smash burger and the Marcia sandwich, I also ordered the street corn. The food came out pretty quickly. We ate there, music was playing, not too loud. Staff were very friendly to start conversations. We were not disappointed with the food, so delicious. I would recommend frybread to others. I'll be a returning costumer.

Upon entering, they have a nice outdoor area to eat with playful decor that makes you feel like you're in Mexico! We were seated immediately, but we must've just gotten there at the right time cause they were so packed! Our waitress brought over water and chips and salsa and gave us a few moments to review the menu. We ordered drinks, a steak quesadilla, and the rib eye tacos and fish tacos. Food came out quick and the staff were incredibly attentive. The steak quesadilla was yummy but I wish they had the sour cream and salsa or something on the side for it. It was only drizzled on top but since they were overlapping, it didn't feel like there was enough. But that's 10000% just personal preference! it was still very delicious! The cabo fish tacos were so yummy, we got them fried and they had a good crisp to is. But the star was the rib eye tacos. SO good! the green guacamole sauce that comes with it paired so well with the rib eye flavor. Hands down my favorite of the night! both orders of tacos also came with beans and rice. We definitely had leftovers for the next day! Highly recommend this location! Staff was incredible, parking is easy, food was great!

BF and I got a couple margs and waited outside. 40 mins goes by so I go in and check. They say it'll be another 20ish mins. 30 mins goes by and they say another 30 mins. Pretty hangry at this point. Again, I get its cinco de mayo. We finally get seated more than an hour and a half later. We order the guac and tortilla chips as an app. Guac wasn't bad. Chips were stale like they were out all day of cinco de mayo. My BF orders steak tacos as his entree. I order the Cochinita Pibil. "Slow cooked pork in achiote. Served with rice, beans and tortillas". We finally get that 30 mins later. His tacos were subpar to say the most. Quote "I wouldn't get tacos here again". My dish was the BLANDEST meal I've ever had in my life. It tasted like nothing. I was visibly upset when the waitress finally walked by 15 mins later and told her I couldn't eat it. She asked if I wanted something else so I told her I'd just have the steak tacos because I was starving at this point. She then asked if I wanted a box for the entree I originally ordered and I said no because it didn't taste good at all and neither of us would eat it. She began to walk away and I politely asked if she would still charge me for the cochinita pibil and she said yes so I told her I wouldn't want anything else and to just give us the check once my bf was done with his meal. She didn't pay attention to me the rest of the time we were there. She did end up charging us for that bland plate. Pretty sad. I regret not asking to talk to someone because I guarantee no one in that kitchen would have enjoyed it either, as they were all Hispanic from what I could tell. I myself am Central American so I know authentic dishes. Sad to say I will not be going back there. Good luck!

I loved that the churro was warm and the drink itself was really tasty. However, I think there was way too much whipped cream and not enough of the actual drink. Priced a little highly in my opinion- I got the meat Omelette. It was tasty, it had a fair bit of carne asada in it and it was well seasoned. It also had some bacon and chorizo in there if memory serves me. I thought the portion could have been a little bit better for $23, or better yet, just make it $18-19. There's no reason an Omelette should come with a $23 price tag. I was actually satisfied with the portion given the mound of home fries. Which by the way were very tasty albeit, over salted. The braised beef Benedict that my wife got was very good, my only critique on it would be to toast the bolo a bit more because the whole thing was one texture. It missed the crunch you get with an English muffin as the base. I also thought the beef could have been more seasoned. One other order at the table included the breakfast tacos. You get 4 tacos piled with food. Actually looked like you got more than the Omelette. Noted for next time. I didn't order this, but tried it at the table- the spiked horchata drink was tasty. A little heavy on the whipped cream but it was a good drink! We were surprisingly the only ones in there besides one other table. Doesn't seem like brunch has caught on here? Nonetheless, I think you should give it a try, we were well taken care of and there wasn't anything we didn't like.

Be warned, it's on the more expensive side for dining and may be a coin toss for "is it worth it" for those that enjoy a night out but also looking for value. Food was a mixed bag for us.... Starting with the smashburger was genuinely disappointing as the burger itself was dry and advertised as a "French onion" smashburger that failed to deliver any of the rich, savory flavor we expected with a name like "French onion smashburger". The hot honey Mac and cheese was very good and flavorful... The hot being more of a vinegary heat than I expected but the cream sauce was rich. Speaking of value earlier.... Smashburger was $20 and the Mac and cheese was $28. Entrees were $10-15 more it seemed but previous reviews all spoke highly of the entrees and would want to try them if we visit again. The overall service experience was disappointing for us. Not for the demeanor of the staff but everything else... We had a decent size group of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) and was fortunate to have a dining room to help the kids burn some energy while not bothering the other diners. However, from ordering to entrees to arrive was 45 very hungry minutes. It also took 20+ mins just to get drinks. Once the food arrived, they also were short two of the kids meals which was thankfully corrected quick. We then were somewhat "gently" being asked to wrap things up by 3 staff members in 10 mins making the rounds to clear plates and any to go containers. We all understand the business in the food industry and turning tables, and trust me, after an hour from arriving to food on the table we wanted to get home for bed time. However, really sours the experience and would not advocate going here with large groups.... Between the kitchen and staff I can't say you'd have a guaranteed good time.
