You know i was actually scared to go here based on the reviews, but my all my daughter wanted to do for her bday was go rollerskating with a couple of girls. I was pleasantly surprised! Rink was much bigger than I expected. People who worked there were pleasant. Music was great. Loved that they did a little limbo contest... concession stand was fine (only thing missing was hot pretzels). Game room was small but made kids happy. Plenty of tables to sit at edge of rink for people to watch kids. Happy to see sanitizing bottles all over the place. We will return! read more

I have been taking my kids to this skating rink for awhile. I have noticed what the other people are complaining about in the comments. However, last night I was dropping off my daughter and took her in the skating rink. I had my handgun on me. I checked for any sign posting that I wasn't allowed to bring it in to the business. I am licensed to carry in NC. On my way out the grumpy old man came and started yelling at me about carrying my gun. I told him that I checked and there was no sign posting that I was not allowed to bring it in their business. I think all gun owners should boycott this business and the bowling alley that is located on the same property since they are the same owner. All corporations should support our constitution or they should be boycotted and go out of business. read more

I visited the skating ring for the first time for my nephew birthday party. I must say I wasn't impressed. The skaters assisting out on the floor were very Rude!!!! The entire time I was there I didn't hear a variety of music. I couldn't believe you had to pay even if you weren't skating. I don't plan to come back. read more

I visited this rink with my church's youth for a party and I really liked this roller rink. The staff was friendly, The rink was clean and not slippery. The skating rink itself is a cool place. But management needs to see about hiring a new front window person. This was my first time here with my daughter and I was meeting a group for a 9 year olds' birthday party and had no idea what I was supposed to do or where to find my group. So I kindly told the old lady that I have never been there before and was meeting for a birthday and asked her where I might find them, and where to get skates etc. (remember, my first time here) Instead of helping me or directing me in the right direction, she pretty much shut me down in her rude tone of voice.. "ARE YOU BOTH SKATING. ITS 20 DOLLARS" then completely ignored me and buzzed me in. She was pretty much like "figure it out". My daughter and I felt so lost and confused. She definitely does the bare minimum of her job. I'd give this place more stars but that woman ruined it for me. She was definitely not "inviting". Will not be returning. read more

$10 a ticket is way overpriced for this place, the second you walk into the door of the roller rink you're slapped in the face with the smell of mildew and horribly humid air. It's hard to breathe, there is no visible ventilation at all, and to be frank the place is an eye sore. I went with some friends and within 5 minutes of being there some little girl screamed at my friend, her sister stole her phone and ran away to the bathroom with it. They then both harassed my friends on the rink by swerving around them trying to make them wipeout. The place is also way overpacked at times and the actual rink itself is relatively small. manager Darlene allows her worker Tyler to go through a child's bag, open all the pockets and then throw it on the floor for the rest of the kids to pick up my kids money that's fallen out to the tune of 20$ and then deny it ever happened even when he admits he went through it looking for a shoe. As if We who comes there with two kids at least twice per week are lying and didn't even see it really happen. No consequences or cares on their part, no reimbursement to us. I guess they care NOT about their loyal customers. And the bathrooms and carpets are FILTHY it's disgusting, expect your kid to come home sick from the lingering germs on all the carpeted surfaces that haven't been cleaned in 25 years read more

Lowsy and rude customer service as they do not know how to talk to people. Overcrowding of people in the building seems like a fire hazard issue. I felt like I was going to faint in the place as it was just too many people like being in HWY. 77 during rush hour and not properly ventilated. Me and a couple friends decided to go Roller Skating on Saturday night. We wanted to revisit our childhood as we haven't skated in years! When we walked in we paid the cost of $10. I thought this was a bit steep honestly. But then I don't know the going price to Skate. But I knew I could bowl for cheaper! Anyway we walked into the kids world as soon as we opened the door to enter the rink. Kids were literally everywhere, it was packed. Multiple birthday parties, families and kids there alone with friends. Didn't bother me though, I don't know why anyone would expect anything else. I'm pretty sure we were the only adults who came with no kids lol. We went to pick up our skates and were pleased. They were nice looking skates! Looked new! We happened to walk in the middle of a game so we watched that finish and began to skate. We won't even get into our old lady struggle with that lol. But we had a good time. One of my friends even played a couple of the games when they stopped the "All Skates". We heard them over the speaker calling kids to the front when their parents arrived to pick them up which I thought was nice. I wish we had a rink like this in my hometown growing up, the kids were having a ball! My only complaint was the bathroom was literally disgusting. We held ourselves until we arrived to our next destination afterwards, it was that bad. All in all, I would definiately return... but maybe on a weekday instead lol. read more

Good Luck getting in contact with the owner to setup a private birthday party. Its like they can careless for your business. Some woman with a nasty attitude answers the phone every time I call. Tried for a month straight to book a private birthday party after attending one in May of 2016. Every time I call, I am advised to call back on another day. No professional offer to take a message, since it appears one can only speak to the owner to book a private party. I even put in an online request; no one responded (It's been a month; just about). After reading all the reviews on Google, it seems it's about time to sell this rink to someone who wants to do business with the public and like it. Written by my daughter: This place was horrible. I came with my family and my friend and there were a lot of teenagers and kids that were unsupervised around the building . We came early to get in before it got crowded and we weren't very surprised when all of those unsupervised kids skipped in line and pushed us out of the way to pay to get in. We were also pushed out of the way by a woman who was working there. My little brother was shoved out of the doorway by this lady and we weren't even told to move before she did this. I'm not sure if it was just the staff that was working that day or if it is like this all of the time. I'm only 13 years old but even I could tell that the service was very unpleasant, and the hospitality of the people working was not welcoming at all.We didn't even make it in and decided to leave. I'm writing this review so that people don't get the same experience as us and hopefully the staff learns to be more respectful and organized towards their customers. It would be worth the extra 30 minute drive to go to Kate Skate in South Carolina instead. read more

Fun place if you go on a day that old hag isn't there. Every time I skated past her, I felt like she was gonna snipe me right off my skates.

Nasty bathrooms.... Sent my child to get himself a smoothy they mixed it with mt dew. My 4 yr olds time was up on the walker and the old man took it from him when he was on the rink. As one of the teenagers who frequents Frye's on the weekends, I can say that the rollerskating rink is a nice place to skate and socialize. However, there are multiple talented skaters who skate quickly around the rink using slower people as obstacles. While this is frustrating the skaters are good enough to avoid collisions. The main problem I have with the establishment is the customer service. Workers have banned people from the rink for swearing, have dress coded girls who wore strapless tops, and have prevented people from sitting on the lap of their girlfriend/boyfriend. If you are someone who just wants to rollerblade and mind your own business the rink serves as a great place to do so with fun music (which's playlist should be diversified) and games. However, the more time you spend interacting with employees you will see the judgement, and lack of respect Frye's has for its customers. read more

WORST experience EVER! I had my daughter birthday party there thinking it was going to be a good idea. For starters they rush you in the party room then rush you out, very unorganized, and most of all THE WORST AND RUDEST STAFF EVER!!! Lady at the front taking payments/tickets had the worst attitude and didn't speak in a kindly type of manner to other customers. Not worth the money at ALL! I've been coming here since skate nights began in kindergarten. I'm now a sophomore in college and I have just as much fun as I did when I was 6....only now I'm the one cursing the small children darting in front of me (or behind me if I'm backwards) but hey, what can you do. The facilities are nice enough, though a bit run down. The staff do an excellent job most of the time, considering what they have to put up with for minimum wage. Sure the bathrooms could do with an upgrade and the carpet could be deep-cleaned more often, but I've seen kids (and parents) drop a nacho cheese basket and just let it sit there, rather than clean it up, so it isn't the staff's fault it's nasty. Blame the patrons who weren't taught to clean up after themselves! Lastly, the pricing is fantastic. Where else can you go for $5-6 (+$2 for regular skates or $3 for inlines) during the week and have fun for a few hours, or on a saturday entertain and feed your kids from noon to 10pm for $40? Ps. Don't let someone's nasty attitude towards a place change your mind about going; it's a rough sport sometimes, sometimes people get hurt, and they should understand that going in. read more
