I live nearby and shop at this store multiple times a week. They have redesigned and added some features, like a cheese counter and expanded bakery, and it's very pleasant to shop here. The store is always clean, and most all the staff are friendly and helpful. Dave, the cashier, is the best. We take advantage of the coupons in the mobile app, and we make a game out of collecting fuel points to save money on gas. I heard from someone the other day Marana is the fastest growing city in the country currently, which makes sense given all the houses being built. Because this is the main grocery store serving the area (and the next closest supermarket is probably a 10 to 15-minute drive), they seem to have a hard time keeping things in stock, but it has gotten better over the past couple years. It can be a pain though because I'll stop here for a specific item and they won't have it, like oregano or mushrooms. Like other stores and businesses, I'm sure they're affected by supply chain issues, but that did happen multiple times pre-COVID as well. I do know they're feeling the pinch of staff shortages. For the last couple months, the deli has been closing at 5p every day, so people who work a traditional 9-5 won't be able to get anything fresh from the deli during the week. I understand their staff need a break, but it would be nice if they mixed up the shifts and the deli closed on some mornings and stayed open later a couple days a week. They have a section with clothing and shoes, which I never see anyone shopping, so I think it's kind of a waste. It would be really cool if they took that out and added like a hot soup or salad bar! There is also a kitchen section and other housewares beyond what are typically available at a grocery store. If you need something in a pinch, it can be useful, and sometimes there are good sales in that section. read more

I have been using this Fry's since it opened. It has gradually gone down hill the last few years. What with their employees clogging the aisles for the pick-up and delivery orders and the addition of self check-out. I refuse to do the self check-out since the end result will be unemployment for many. Every time I've shopped there in the last year or so I cringe when I get to the check-out area. I haven't been closer than three deep in a line in recent memory and they rarely have more than two lines open. But Fry's pays people anyway to help customers with self check-out. I will keep going to Fry's only because they're basically the only game in town...for now. read more

Stopped in for few items on my way home from out of town. The deli counter was ridiculous busy and with only one person behind the counter. They seem to cater to pick up customers, every aisle has an employee with a cart and they're rude and you cannot get by them. Purchased a half pie and it looked delicious and later that evening I went to serve it and the bottom was raw. I had to bake it upside down, I will never buy another pie from Fry's. read more

I'm currently writing this review sobbing in the bathroom because of the piss poor ability to keep things stocked. Ok... I'm not really sobbing, but I am sitting on the throne. As many of the reviews have pointed out, this location used to be a go to place. Now, if you need anything from here, you'll likely find that they don't get any until tomorrow.... Which is the answer 100% of the time, only to return tomorrow and find out that the night shift didn't properly prepare for the hoard of snowbirds during the winter. FFS Fry's.... Get your $h!t together and take care of the locals that actually shop here. For AJ's, Sprouts or Whole Foods that is looking to give this store some competition, there's an open building available at the corner of Dove Mountain Blvd & Tangerine that could really use an upscale grocery store because this one is failing beyond belief!!! read more

A study in decline. I've been shopping here since the store opened, and for years it was excellent. A whole lot of the old employees -- who were great -- are suddenly gone, and the store is becoming increasingly useless for shopping. Their deli, when it is open, is open only during hours normal people have to work. If you work normal working hours, just give up on ever accessing the deli, which is always closed by the time I arrive. This store caters to people who have nowhere to be in the middle day, to the exclusion of any poor sucker who has to shop after 5pm. Also by this time, the produce section looks ransacked, as if there is some kind of starvation panic. Routine absences of common food items like navel oranges or broccoli are the norm. If you're a vegetarian, Fry's hates you, in the same way they hate working people. The piddling little space they allocate for these products is routinely ransacked and devoid of basic staples. It is clear they simply don't care. This is also one of those stores which has jumped on the self-checkout bandwagon, which is fine if you don't buy more than a few days worth of groceries at a time. They installed one conveyor belt for people with longer orders, but the self-checkout stations are terrible, endlessly chatty, constantly whining and complaining and telling you to "put items in the bag," when you already have, completely halting your checkout order if you order alcohol (like, how about prohibit final payment until the rubber stamp date of birth is entered -- why are you stopping me from continuing to scan items completely?). It's a terrible system, but many days, there's little choice but to use it. They've installed what can only be described as cattle guards at the entrances. These are invasive, irritating, dehumanizing devices that prevent entry to the store until they swing open. Presumably they are there to prevent thieves from exiting in the other direction, but added to the depressing dystopian vibes of this supermarket, they're, well, depressing and dystopian. Can't recommend it anymore. Accompanying this general decline are prices that are borderline ridiculous, outpacing inflation in some cases by an order of magnitude. I could chock all of this up to the inability to hire employees at what is certainly dismal pay, the state of the economy, or whatever, but few of these problems exist at the nearby Oro Valley location, which is a smaller store, but far less unkempt. Some days I simply shop here because I can be confident the products I need are available. On the plus side, one thing this store has going for it is its outstanding cheese selection. It is probably the best cheese selection in about a 20 mile radius, selling imported favorites like St. Andre and Roquefort Papillon. It's depressing, what's happened to this Fry's. It's depressing I cannot ever have access to the deli. It's depressing my ingress and egress are controlled by the same sorts of contraptions which route livestock through a slaughterhouse. I have a Fry's Mastercard, and while no other vendor has problems with this card, somewhat bizarrely, I routinely have problems at the self-checkout stations. The gas pumps are so old they can't scan cell phone bar codes, so the *only loyalty card* I have to carry in my wallet is the Fry's one. Then there is the miserable store app, which has apparently never been subject to a user-experience review. The app crowds my screen with everything other than what I want, which is their infuriating electronic coupons. Endlessly popping up things in my face, including sales jobs for other services, makes the app a complete drag to use. Really unpleasant place. It wasn't always like this. I don't know who is managing the store or making decisions for the store, but it is a shadow of what it once was. read more

Boy oh boy have I missed Frys Marketplace! This seems to be the only one in the Tucson area but was so worth the drive for us! Clean, brightly lit, easy to navigate around, full shelves and lots of selection! Sometimes being a non-meat eater I have to get creative with ingredients but the Marketplace has the variety I'm looking for. The "regular" Fry's near me has mostly what I need but here I find quite a bit more food for me and of course the Houseware section makes me happy. Yup, I peruse all the goodies there and walk out with new cooking utensils. We'll be back for sure. read more

Ive shopped at this fry's for years but i've enjoyed picking up Today July 25, 2024 i went in to fry's to do shopping cause my grandson was visiting I almost got my cart hit by a boy restock chips and he just went right in front of me and just looked at me and didn't say excuse me or i'm sorry nothing. Also the girl pulling orders just stands in isle with her cart with no consideration for people passing said excuse and she just ignored me The gentleman in the meat department was very nice showing me where the fresh cuts were The cashier was a young boy and he was very polite and reminded me about my phone number cause i was busy with my grandson his name was Jr he must have very good parents that taught him manners and to respect other people I'll go back to pick up everyone there is polite and very nice Please respect other people and it will be a better place read more

I don't know if this store is under poor management or product buyers are out of their depth but common staples are never well stocked. I've never seen a store decline so precipitously since the pandemic. It's not a supply chain issue. I believe the proposed merger (that will create a monopoly, thus many Attorneys General are against it) is causing corporate to purposefully make this store lose its appeal. I can guess their end game and it doesn't bode well for this area. read more

This particular Fry's store is clean every time I walk in the door. They always have plentiful stock, and they carry a wider variety of brands and more items than other Fry's stores. The employees are very courteous and the store is well-maintained. I wish this was my neighborhood Fry's, but I reside in Oro Valley, and live in very close proximity to the Fry's on Lambert and LaCañada. read more

This is my fave Frys. We call it "Disneyland Frys" because it has everything and then some. The isles are nice and wide, plenty of OPEN checkout lanes and rarely congested. I drive out of my way just to go to this location. I do a lot of "pick up" orders as well. The team is always extremely friendly and thorough. Thanks guys! read more

Have been shopping at Frys for 11 years. Today was the last straw. I like to shop early and go to the store between 6 and 6:30AM. Today everyone went there around this time and guess what....NO CHECKERS AT ALL (don't come in to work until later)- one person helping self-checkout. NO DELI - tons of deli people walking around but told me they wouldn't open until 7. I am so disgusted. I had a ton of produce and many other things I had to check out. I couldn't get sliced cheese from deli and had to spend 30 minutes in checkout while my ice cream was melting. Bashes is looking good from now on. I see grocery prices went up again in the last week, so when spending 300 for barely anything and then having to do self-checkout - no deli, the store should not advertise they open at 6 because there is no help. This review pertains to the meat department. So I purchased 2.41 lbs of a bottom round roast. When I looked at the roast in the store, it looked lean, with minimal fat. Well, when I got home and started to prepare it, I had to cut off a solid pound or more of fat that was disguised under the cut of meat. I usually expect some fat, but this was absurd. Produce sections offers limited variety, aisles are congested with advertised items, is a big store but most of it is not food so limited selection. If you want a nice grocery store go someone else. If you want shoes, clothes, etc try this place. I liked this grocery store. Wow amazingly large and lots of product. No doubt the largest grocery store I'd ever seen. It compares to the likes of a Super Kmart or even a Walmart but in my opinion this Fry's market is much larger. Not affiliated with Fry's electronics but Kroger markets (Ralph's in California). The store was clean and bright. The employees that I came across were pleasant and helpful. I read some reviews criticizing the courtesy clerks (baggers) and how they weren't really trained and the cashiers being rude, but the cashier that helped me was quite pleasant and nice. The courtesy clerk was nice and smiled. No complaints from me but I was expecting the worst. Overall I was surprisingly impressed with this store and the staff. Super clean. Very large. With a wide diversity of offerings for the Arizona area. If you live in the dove mountain vicinity it's pretty much the only gig in town. That said the store is always super clean. And it's stocked reasonably well. The staff is super nice - Mr. Ben excellent. Meat is solid. Produce is the weakest offering. And if you shop regularly you can use points to discount your gas. Whenever I come to the area to visit my family I always look forward to the Fry's experience. I think California grocery stores could learn a lot from them. read more

This is an awesome Fry's location. Part grocery store, part department store, like Walmart or Target. I was surprised to find myself buying soem nice shirts on sale 2 for $10. I go to the Fry's Pharmacy at least twice a month and one thing I will say most of the time people at the counter are very nice. But either the manager of that store does not care with all the complaints or their isn't a manager. 9 times out of 10 my Precription is not really and I have to wait or come back the next day, once I came in and was told they were 4 days behind because of the covid shots. I have called before to say I am coming in and again it's not available or they use we are short handed. Come on this is very sad to have to deal with this all the time. Store is clean. Went in to store at 10 am on Friday. Had difficulty navigating through the aisles due to all of the following: 1. Huge carts in aisles shop for customers that order online. 2. Cheese area had worker getting cheese for the large cart. I opened door next to it to get my cheese. The doors touched, and she gave me a look! Uh. .what is that about? 3. Bread aisle had guy with racks of bread to unload and I had to leave my basket and squish by him. 4. One check out clerk. Otherwise, you do the work at front too. The check out clerk was friendly and efficient. 5. Stockers need to stock earlier so customers that are shopping don't have to navigate aisles with stockers along with employees shopping with the gigantic pull carts. read more

Unfriendly people. Even worse service. Stopped for some medication traveling to Texas we made a stop. The old man stocking medicine in the isle made a huge sigh when I kept going around him looking for the medicine I needed. Instead of helping me he just kept making it more awkward. And acted like I was in his way. Then I needed to use the restroom before we left. It was being cleaned, so I politely waited outside the door until they finished. The associate with a shaved head and glasses who was cleaning came out saw me and the proceeded to roll his eyes and say "uhhh just go ahead." He left all his cleaning stuff inside. I didn't get to use the restroom I needed. Instead I made a quick get away. The only person who was kind to me was named Sonny. He worked in the pharmacy and it wasn't open yet and he wasn't on the clock yet. But he took the time to help me find what I needed. Just a horrible place. Do not recommend stopping. Next time we pass through we're going to Safeway down the road. Stay away. read more

I love this Fry's location. The layout and product offering reminds me of the Fred Meyer's in Seattle. The store is always clean and the lines move fast. I have not had any issues with their inventory running low unlike another store I used to frequent. I'm glad they have self check-out kiosks. One time I left a bag of groceries at the store (pregnancy brain!). I called back 20 minutes later and I was able to go back and pick it up. They kept everything refrigerated for me. I tried this location for its clicklist pick up. I probably won't be back. It was out of the way, and then I was really disappointed to find out that not only was I given a box of stinking, rotten organic tomatoes (that I paid $5 for) but I was missing several items from my purchase. After spending $240, I'm not pleased that I need to repurchase several items. If I use this location again it will be for small orders, containing zero produce. We need more competition in grocery stores in the Dove Mountain area. Fry's is getting away with a dirty store, they run out of things on special, and the pharmacy is way understaffed. They seem to cater to the drive through now and leave customers in the store waiting for 15 minutes or longer. We realize the pandemic has a lot to do with stocking levels but if they are going to run the ad, stock up ahead of time. This area is large enough now with full time residents to support one more grocery store such as Sprouts or Trader Joe's. Fry's was great a year or more ago but I think change in management has done it wrong. read more

Due to covid19, I ordered online, curbside pick up. The Strawberrys I have received had mold on it the next day, the cherry tomatoes were solid green on the inside, could not eat them. I just started using this Pharmacy since I have recently moved. I didn't know another Fry's pharmacy could have worse service than the one I was using in Sahuarita but yes it can get worse! The Pharmacy staff struggled with the two customers ahead of me in line. Maybe the young man was new? When my turn came - Issues!! I had a text that said my prescription was ready for pick up. He worked and typed on the computer for almost five minutes not explaining what the problem was and was short with me when I asked if there was a problem? He called the Pharmacist over to help. Apparently, the same prescription I have been filling at Fry's for two years had a question because Insurance was new?? I have the same Prescription with the same Insurance and I have picked up at this Pharmacy several times!! My complaint is not issues or confusion but the condescending attitudes the Pharmacist and Tech had with me. They never apologized for the confusion, delay or hour waiting when I was told my prescription was ready but instead made excuses why it was this way wand told me ways they could not and would not help. The Pharmacy is the most important department of a store and you are dealing with peoples health and well being. You should have appropriate "bed side" manner and not make the person walk away t feeling upset and anxious as I did. I will be changing where I get prescriptions and I'm so turned off ...as much as I love the store, I will be shopping elsewhere. My review is a single star for one of the worst and rudest customer service experiences I have ever received. read more

Stopped off gas at Fry's for gas, used my credit card for the purchase. After checking my balance I noticed they added a 1.00 sur charge for using the card. I also heard that if you get cash back after your purchase they are charging a fifty cent charge for that. Their prices for groceries has raised up from a couple of years ago and now these other fees, how much do you want to milk us Fry's, shameful ! read more
