I really don't know what's going on with this store, couple of the employees here are sooo rude. One of them that is bald almost ran me over with a cart and didn't event apologized, and another lady (seemed to be the manager) as she was wearing a blue shirt, also wearing glasses, didn't really want to help out with a question on the points. I had heard sprouts had these amazong plums called popsicle plums, So I came down to pick some up. I got home and tried one and they are the juciest best tasting plums! I am never disappointed. I had such a good experience at the store on 3860 West River Road. The cashier (Catherine) was so helpful and friendly. She informed me of the great sales they are having on all vitamins and being as I am trying to stock up on many of them which are quite expensive, now was the time to do it. The vitamin section is quite daunting, so Catherine called a young lady (Jazmine) to help me. I have been helped by Jazmine several times. She is always helpful and makes sure that I find what I need. Both of these women are knowledgeable, kind and made feel like they were there to make the experience a happy one for me. Extremely disappointing and hurtful experience. My mom was shopping in the vitamin aisle, taking her time to read labels and reviews so she could choose the right vitamins. This is normal behavior, especially in a health-focused store like Sprouts. While she was doing this, my dad was already at the register. My dad overheard an employee call out to have someone "restock" the vitamin area because they assumed my mom was stealing. This was incredibly uncomfortable, embarrassing, and completely uncalled for. My mom is a regular customer and has shopped here many times. Being treated with suspicion simply for taking time to shop carefully was humiliating for our family. The situation made my dad so upset that he walked out saying he didn't like the store anymore. What should have been a simple shopping trip turned into an emotional and stressful experience. Customers should never feel judged, profiled, or treated like criminals for browsing. Sprouts One thing I always look for in a grocery store is this it clean? the store was very clean. The other thing is the staff, the staff were very friendly and helpful and they were all wearing masks. They also had some plastic separation protection for their cashiers They're not totally organic but they have quite a bit of organic stuff. They were working on making sure everything looked well stocked and orderly. The vegetables seem to be plentiful and for a typical family grocery store that seemed like they had a fair selection of organic items. They also had grass-fed beef and bacon that was uncured. They also have some individually prepped items which are good for a senior that may want to not have to prepare everything. They even have some Frozen organic items which were particularly of interest to me. They also had an extensive selection of vitamins and other individual health care items. Their baked goods are pretty good too they have half loaves of bread which I think you're really nice. I've been when it's been crowded and not crowded and the line through the checkout area has always been fast. It's a complete grocery store with about everything that you could want. read more

We have been shopping at sprouts for awhile now. We ALWAYS get amazing service when we have Lori as our personal shopper. She clearly takes the time to do things right, picks the best produce. Get our meats packaged properly and alway greets us with a smile and helpful information. We actually look forward to seeing her every week. On the occasions when we didn't get Lori our service has been "meh". At least twice we got messages that our order will be late because "there is no shopper available". This screwed up our whole day and I had to reschedule several meetings. If I place an online order for pickup it's would seem to me that it's kinda important to have that order ready. We are always impressed with our groceries when picked by Lori. We shop at sprouts for the quality of their inventory. It costs more but we can pick and choose what we buy. We would like to extend our personal kudos to Lori and the people who had the foresight to hire her. She is a treasure and she keeps us coming in. When she's gone...we are gone read more

Good people work here. They are amazingly tolerant of some of the unusually quirky and persnickety clientele that frequent this market. Some of the rudest and most stuck up people shop in this sprouts, yet the staff are attentive and go search back room for such nonsense items such as pierogi and other things not common in farmer style markets. A+ clean store and you have a choice of paper or plastic for carrying out your finds. To me it is the responsibility of the customer to "recycle", not ding the establishment for providing a choice! I am a huge Sprouts fan and shop at my local Gilbert Sprouts weekly. I was in Tucson, today, and grabbed a few things before heading back to Phoenix. The bagger failed to give me some greeting cards I purchased and I didn't notice until I got home, 1.5 hours later. I called to store to ask for a refund. No dice. They can't do refunds over the phone, and I have no other option but to drive back to Tucson to pick them up. Really, Sprouts? It's 2020 for goodness sakes. I have the receipt. Not even a credit offer. The cards are sitting at the register where I bought them. I know these are trying times and toilet paper is more important than human decency but I was hoping for customer service. Guess we lost that, too. read more

With online pickup ordering available now, the pandemic has changed how we interact all over the place. I hate that there are negative 1-star reviews because they are requiring masks. This is also the famous mask meltdown location. They have stepped up security since the incident thankfully. Pandemic aside, this sprouts has always had a good selection and a clean facility. No sprouts in my experience have had great meat sections but the fresh vegetables and fruits have been a standout. They have a great variety of special dietary needs items (lactose, gluten, vegan, etc.). They have a pretty large section for vitamins, body products, and skincare in comparison to Whole Foods. read more

Myself and my family absolutely loved the sprouts. Whenever we go it doesn't seem to be crowded. And the staff is super friendly. They always have a nice selection of fresh produce. Which appears to be much better than main stream big box grocery stores. Prices are a little bit higher than a standard supermarket, but less than whole paycheck. Since shopping there we have discovered brands that we never knew existed. And we love how many of the offerings have straightforward healthy natural ingredients. Occasionally they run out of things were looking for. But I suppose that could happen in any market. I'm so thrilled that we have a sprouts here. I ordered a Thanksgiving meal for two. My husband just got out of hospital so we wanted to have a quiet dinner at home. Wednesday morning I get a call that Sprouts is out of stock on the $39.99 meal for 2 would I like to substitute the full meal for $79.99. i declined as that is too much food and too costly. Today I get a call from one of the store Managers asking how I enjoyed the meal. Really!!!!! Sprouts has been one of our favorite places to shop but it looks like their customer service is lacking. I'm giving 5 stars for the produce and 1 star to the deli for a cumulative 3 star review. Sprouts is a lesser expensive alternative to Whole Foods with slightly less options. They offer a wide range of USDA organic produce and a few items like watercress and golden beets that are hard to find at other natural food groceries. Their selection of fruits offers a wide variety of ripeness. I'm always able to find avocados and bananas that are ready to eat now or in a few days. Now the bad and and my motivation to write this review. On multiple occasions I've placed a sandwich order on a slip of paper at the deli counter. Then I go about my grocery shopping business for 10 - 15 minutes only to find my order still sitting on the counter. And the ugly...after I spoke up about my order the sandwich artist just reheated a pre-made sandwich instead of making a fresh one. I highly recommend Sprouts to buy grains and nuts in bulk and for vegan and vegetarian options. read more

I'm only giving 2 stars because I actually love the groceries here. I would give 0 to the deli section. I've been coming here consistently for the past year. I'm vegan and had asked someone working in the deli section if the breads were vegan and he said all of the breads were vegan, usually I'd double check but he seemed very confident. I had been ordering the build your own veggie sandwiches almost every week. Until one time, I made the realization that the breads they used were the same ones out on the floor and almost all of them said eggs milk or honey. I had asked to see the ingredients list only to find that the bread I had been ordering for the past 6 months was NOT vegan. I expressed my concern, no one apologized. Today was the last straw. They had a new sandwich promoted called the ultimate veggie sandwich with broccoli sprouts and all sorts of things. I asked a deli person about the ciabatta bread, they looked and said the ciabatta bread didn't have milk so I had nothing to worry about. I came back to pick it up after some shopping and they informed me that the bread said it may contain traces of milk and I said no worries I'm vegan not allergic, she smiled and handed me my sandwich. I got home and unwrapped it only to find freaking cheese on the sandwich, no broccoli sprouts, no almond spread. Was this girl delusional? She made sure there was no milk in the bread but then she puts cheese on my sandwich?! The deli people are very snarky at times and uneducated on allergens and diets. It makes me so angry that somewhere like Sprouts doesn't train their staff better. I really like this grocery store but I can't keep getting my orders messed up. Today I had my mask off to take a drink and the manager came up to me demanding I put my mask back on. I was looking for my mask & he came within 2 feet of me staring me down in an appropriate way in front of my daughter waiting for me to put my mask on. Where's my order? We're two older people who didn't want to go to the store in the pouring rain with fears of corona virus. We did an online order and someone named Jessica was supposed to deliver it. Because the shelves were emptied, we only were going to get $50 worth of our $100 order. Then there was another $11 in delivery fees. I could see what she was choosing and saw she was making bad choices: tomatoes for tomatillos, dark chocolate peanut butter, etc..Still waiting at 7 p.m. I noticed it said she delivered at 5:57. Oh no she didn't! We have a ring door bell so we would know. Sprouts wasn't helpful. They said delivery is done by Instacart so I'd have to call them. I scrambled to find a number and the automated system put me on hold for almost 2 hours! Then if I stop the payment, I'll be charged $30! I'm frustrated both by Instacart and Sprouts! Change of heart. Tried it again. Had a fantastic Instacart shopper named Ahmed who made great choices and delivered very promptly. I shouldn't judge a company by one bad shopper (Jessica). Love, love, love this place. I actually shop at both the Oro Valley and River Rd locations. It depends upon where I am that day which store I shop. Both stores have kind employees who go out of their way to help. Whether it's checking for more inventory in the back or assistance finding a product I want to buy. The stores are clean, the prices are reasonable for organic produce & meats. I buy my chicken exclusively at Sprout's. The meat is organic & the prices are reasonable. My favorite reason for shopping Sprout's is the kindness of the produce manager in both stores. If I want to buy a case of cherries or pears I can call to confirm they have the produce available and pick it up in a few hours. It's a testament to their employees how far these people go to make their customer's shopping experience positive. read more

I used to enjoy shopping at Sprouts, but in the past several months both I and several other people I know have encountered unreasonable, and sometimes hostile, discriminatory practices in cases where we are either unable to or choose not to wear a face mask. Many other stores recognize that discrimination on the basis of physical disability is both illegal and unethical, and choose to protect the rights of all of their patrons -- its a shame that Sprouts doesn't choose to be a leader in this area rather than an offender. read more

I do my grocery shopping almost exclusively at Sunflower, and I can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather be! I'm not a hippie or anything, but I do try to eat healthy and cook a lot. I find the selection, quality, and price of the produce superb. I've had some great sausage and steaks from the butcher here, and they sell Boar's Head meats as well. They have a fun cheese section up front. I particularly like the odds and ends basket, where I can try new cheeses in a sample size. Oh and the bulk items; there is so much to explore! Want to know where those grapes come from? You got it! Is this beef grass-fed? Yup! Vegetarian or Vegan refried beans? Both! Is this butter made in Arizona? But of course! There is great information on most of the food, if that sort of thing is important to you. The "natural living" section... well, it's not exactly my thing, but there is a large portion of the store devoted to it. There is also a good sized beer and wine section - always find something new and yummy here! Aside from what Sunflower sells, Sunflower has character. The staff ranges from overly friendly to overly grumpy, but I've found them all to be knowledgeable. The other shoppers are equally varied, though I've seen a shift more toward "normal shoppers" (mom types, young couples, etc) over the last few years. And the patio outside the entrance always has a craft sale or plants or some other quirky thang happening. Honestly, I can't stand regular super markets anymore - They just don't feel right. When a store employee takes a challenge and converts my (formerly) apple-free self, it is an occasion. One for the history books and fireworks. And Ken goes down in the history books. Exhibit A: Dubious New Yorker wanders the produce section and remarks about new apple varietals with which she is unfamiliar and mentions: Ambrosia. Exhibit B: Ken, noticing a challenge, discusses all things apple with the girl from the Big Apple and detects a hint of apprehension peppered with apple expertise. Could he convert her dubious heart to accept apples back into her life? Exhibit C: The Ambrosia, sitting meekly on the shelf, is sliced open and offered to Exhibit A. Exhibit A is converted. She may accept the delight of apples back into her life. Ambrosia affected her disaffected heart. Case closed, Exhibit B rests his case. (All the legalese was thanks to being called for jury duty - argh). In all seriousness, shopping here was actually delightful. (There goes that word again, can we trend it? Or create a hashtag #delightful?) Ken was wonderful and his apple expertise actually impressed me (and I'm hard to impress). After a trip down the produce aisle, a few boxes of yummy cereal and a really cool glittery nail polish sans the nasty stuff, I was actually pleased with a shopping experience. Sprouts has many good specialty products at a good price compared to Whole Paycheck. Good selection of cheeses, breads, organic goods -- but the best thing is that they have Usinger's wieners and brats. They also have Boars Head with natural casings, but I prefer the Usinger's. The awesome produce is always fresh since they have good turnover due to the heavy traffic. The freezer section has ground lamb, veal and even wild boar. read more

I hop over to this Sunflower on a regular basis to grab my lunches for work. It is clean, organized and they have recently expanded their daily soup offering (I love soups). I'm one of those people that hates to go grocery shopping, even though I enjoy cooking, so I don't mind if the staff is not the friendliest. Their meats are pretty fantastic and they have a good selection of produce. I head back often due to their selection of gluten free items (sometimes I crave bread) and the fact that they have tempeh (mmmmm)! read more

As folks reading my reviews may note, there is a pattern. I am not thrilled with the choices in grocery stores in Las Cruces, NM. I miss stores like Trader Joe's and Sunflower being a reasonable distance. To me, a 3 hour drive at minimum is not a reasonable distance to the nearest good grocery store. I like Sunflower. They have a good variety of foods that we love to stock up on when in Albuquerque or Tucson. This location, and its proximity to I-10 makes it a good place to stop on the way home from a trip to Arizona to maximize the effectiveness of our cooler in keeping the food edible when we get home 4 hours later. The only reason they don't get a 5 star rating? The older gentleman working there that kept watching my wife and I like we were trying to rip them off. I have a job, and pay for my goods. Save your prejudices for other folks. read more

For those that don't know, this is natural, health food store. They have a ton of vegan and vegetarian options. I love the selection in this store and their bulk selection is on point. Supplement options are pretty vast, and you'll most likely find what you're looking for. Tucson Tamales can be found here in the freezer section (mmm). Lines are usually long, but they they always have enough cashiers to accommodate. Check their weekly ads for fruit and produce specials because it's usually less here than a lot of other stores. Large selection of produce, so if you're vegan, vegetarian or on a low carb diet, this store could quickly become your best friend that you hang out with regularly. read more

I've been trying to think lately of places that I go regularly that are worth Yelping about. I'm trying to continue to expand my reviews outside of the restaurants that I frequent. So I thought I'd throw some comments up for a couple of my favorite shopping spots in Tucson. Since I don't live in the area, being efficient is important, so I'm reviewing this Sunflower Market location. It is very close to a Costco and helps make our shopping trips more efficient. In a nutshell, Sunflower is great for things like organic vegetables and meats, and some specialty foods that may be hard to come by at your regular grocery store. And that is how we treat it. We don't do our "regular" grocery shopping here. We just pick up those things that Sunflower excels at providing. No need to buy your Cheerios here. But you can get higher quality produce and meats. That said it is a bit pricier than your average grocery store, but you should pretty much already know that going in, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise. Oh, we also really like their bulk foods. I always find myself picking up some bulk organic beans, or rice, or some other kind of grains. read more

My bad. They are the same muffins....EXACTLY the same muffins found on the tables and in the reach ins at Fry's/Albertson's/Safeway/and yes...Wallmart. I was disappointed...perhaps my expectations were to high, and I should have done my homework...however...I find the name a bit misleading...the blame is still on me though...and was immediately corrected by zipping to WholeFoods and grabbing the apple flaxseed muffins my friend has very explicit dreams about...yes I am jealous of the muffins. Score is, one for WholeFoods, zero for Sunfower, and minus one for me for not thinking it out. read more
