For whatever reason I am a fan of Natural Grocers. On this occasion I came for meat for my Danes. Very limited selection available here and the least expensive thing they had was the grass fed ground beef for $7.59lb. I think this was the sale price. Guess my two are dining well tonight. I also found eggs for just under $3.00 dozen. What I couldn't find was Heavy Cream. Goats milk, Kefir, oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, half and half, etc. but no heavy cream available in 1/2 pints, pints, or quarts. This is somewhat a small store compared to a couple I've shopped at in Phoenix area so maybe that's the reason for a more limited selection. One thing I always look for in a grocery store is this it clean? the store was very clean. The other thing is the staff, the staff were very friendly and helpful They have a large selection of vitamins, supplements And natural beauty care products. They have quite a bit of organic stuff, the vegetables are always fresh looking They even have some Frozen organic items which were particularly of interest to me. I've been when it's been crowded and not crowded and the line through the checkout area has always been fast. I like to shop here to support a local business.But I find I have to go to some other organic natural typeplaces to complete my shopping. read more

I love Natural Grocers. They are selective on their produce, and their products considering how small they are. I thought it was a little funky though that the floors are cement, not that's a bad thing but just unexpected from the other locations I've been in. The aisles were also a bit funky, I weaved in and out of them just fine but I wasn't sure where I was going. I do wish natural grocers had a more standard layout, it makes it tricky to find things but I got the job done. The most important thing about natural grocers is that they do not use nor support APEEL. They also have the best Japanese sweet potatoes in town. read more

Went into the store today one bought a dozen eggs for 499 went to check out and was told because I didn't have a membership. I had to pay 599 for them. I think a dollar extra surcharge for not having a membership is ridiculous. I will not return to the store. Their policy is ridiculous. I have to pay a dollar surcharge because I won't get their app and join. Their club is ridiculous. It doesn't stay sad on the shelf for the eggs for price for 99 that I had to pay a dollar extra if I don't have their membership. I think this is totally ridiculous. I think less people should shop there if you have to join the prices aren't that much better? read more

I'm a big fan of Natural Grocers, I come here frequently to pick up items I can't find in other stores. If you've never been, this market is similar to Sprouts but smaller with generally better pricing. The produce area is on the small side, but for everything else it will have you covered. Great selection of supplements and dry goods, and it's the only place I can find Live Soda. The staff here is always nice. They don't have plastic or paper bags, but they have boxes (like Costco) that you can put your items in. I wish they had a location on the west side of town! read more

This was my first visit to a Natural Grocers. I decided to stop because I wanted to get some strawberries. I didn't know what to expect. One of the impressive things was the huge selection of vitamins and supplements. I was able to find some things I usually ordered online. The prices were okay-some a bit higher but not out of line. The produce section was smaller than I expected and prices were a shade high but not terrible. There was a limited selection of a number of things but if you are looking for speciality items such as gluten free, compostable paper products, and other "healthy" foods, you might find what you want, The staff were helpful and wearing masks. The carts inside the building were cleaned and they ask that you leave any you use outside. The store was clean. It's a good place for speciality items and supplements but not a place I'd go for grocery shopping. read more

This Natural Grocers -- or NatGro as I call it -- has amazingly low prices compared to other natural stores in the area. The produce section is small but is mostly if not all organic. I stayed in the grocery section because that was all I needed today, but they also offer bath and body products as well as a full apothecary. Thisis one of the nicest Natural Grocers locations that I have been to. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which I appreciate. I find that Natural Grocers has the biggest selection of vegan products in comparison to the other local stores like Whole Foods or Sprouts. We also just realized that this specific location has a whole range of Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee products which is something I have not been able to find anywhere else in town! I find this store has always had poor customer service. Today, was a bizarre experience. I got to the store about ten minutes before it opened. I was standing in line at the front door with about 8 other customers. I was at the front of the line and just happened to notice the "OPEN" sign was on. I said to the person behind me, "Is the store open, the sign is on". So I went to the automatic door and sure enough the store was open. Just didn't notice that someone had quickly unlocked the front door. The staff couldn't say, "good morning, come on in", like they do at Trader Joes and Sprouts? Just left customers standing outside in the heat! Unbelievable. I have been avoiding this store during Covid because so little is done to protect customers; carts are not sanitized for one thing. Today, the clerk did wipe down the conveyor at the register. I have been coming only because there are some items this store carries that I like. During this difficult time I want to give our small Natural Grocers store a shout out. They are extremely helpful, kind and calm.

This is a small chain like Trader Joe size and all of the fruit & vegetables are organic, so that is really small, but organic. I love their clear produce bags so I can see what I have in the drawer when I get home (as opposed to green bags at Whole Foods and Sprouts). I like the way you check out and put your groceries in small boxes which I always need so sometimes I will go out of my way to shop here to pick them up. BEST OF ALL, I would like to shout out Michael for his supplement knowledge. The rest of the staff is great too but when I have a question about a supplement I really value his opinion. We shop at this store a lot and like the products and the people. However, my husband was there today and had to use the men's restroom and said it was worse than a gas station restroom on a deserted highway! The toilet bowl was disgusting and there was no soap in the dispenser and no paper towels to dry your hands. He said the floor was as disgusting as the toilet. He found a manager and told him about it. His response was, "I'm sorry; I didn't know". It was 9:00 in the morning! Doesn't anyone check the restrooms before the store opens? I certainly hope that the employees do not use this restroom. Aren't there health codes for restrooms in food stores? read more

I do allot of grocery shopping here, never had an issue. Today I bought a marked down bread, when I opend it at home it had mold on it. Yuk! I have to drive back to the store and return it. I do pretty much all of my grocery shopping at Natural Grocers. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, fun. ALL produce is organic, as local as possible, and very reasonably priced. I've found that all of the employees bend over backwards to be helpful. I've gotten helpful advice in the vitamins/supplements department. The produce manager and I have compared recipes. The demos by various reps are great, informative, and fun. Most of the time the prices are lower than at Sprouts or Trader Joe's - where I also shop for certain things. I really enjoy the various nutrition classes. I've learned so much more about better nutrition specific for me, gotten many new recipes, am trying new foods and fun ways to prepare them. Sometimes I go to one of the other 4 Tucson store locations for classes that I can't get to at my store. I love the idea of bringing my own bag. That cuts down a lot on wasted plastic or paper bags. They have product boxes in front that some shoppers use. I take my own bag into any store where I shop anyway - even Macy's, Target, Dillard's, etc. The $0.05 bag credit on my receipt means that that amount goes to our local food bank. I find myself going into this store more and more. Yesterday, I stopped at three of the "natural" markets looking for parsley that smelled right, and wasn't soaked and slimy. I should have just come here first. They treat their produce properly, and I find a good number of items in produce, though all organic, are priced the same or better than at the other grocers. The store reminds me of the 4th Ave Co-op, but much larger - and it stocks items you will find here and nowhere else. read more

Prices were surprisingly reasonable for an establishment of this caliber & the employees were above average too. They have a little bit of everything as well as all your specialty goods ( think vegan, gluten free, organic, obscure, raw, etc). I could never purchase our weekly ration of saffron road frozen meals at whole foods or the like. They were always super expensive. I assumed the same here, but was joyfully wrong. I also grabbed a basil plant in a soup can for $5. This item sells for $14 most places. This store is only 1 of 2 places in Tucson that sells empty 00 capsules, in large quantity no less. There's a specialty book area, classes, beauty section, and they even sell at home blood tests. That's a first. Oh and groceries/produce of course. Check this place out & you won't be disappointed. This place is awesome. I love that, let's say you like sweet apples, they will have someone come out and cut a few of their apple varieties to sample before you buy. Not only do they do food but natural make ups, perfumes, shampoos and conditioners, you name it. Also, they're never busy! Such a well kept secret (for now.) it's like sprouts meets whole foods but at a reasonable price and pretty much everything is organic. My Mom requires a gluten-free diet, so we normally end up frequenting Sprouts or Whole Foods quite a bit. This location was a lot more convenient to my work so I figured I would call them this morning and see if they carried the products we needed. I had Matt help me on the phone and he was super great!! He took down a whole list of different foods and was back quickly with information on all of them including prices (which were WAY better than either Sprouts or Whole Foods)!! The store had 4 of the 5 products I needed and they were all very easy to find. It's a smaller store but has a very generous selection and is well organized and clean. My only complaint was that they don't give bags, even paper, so make sure to bring reusable if you don't want to carry your purchases in cardboard boxes. read more

This is the newest Natural Grocers to come to Tucson. The other one I have been to. This one is so convenient for me. It's in the TJ Maxx and Bed n'Bath shopping center on Orange Grove and Oracle. This store and the other one is all about total natural, non GMO, pure vitamins and supplements. I like the store so much except the prices. Pretty high. You try and be healthy and live right but then the costs are not for the average person. At least not to do a full shopping. I go here when there is a sale on a particular item I'm in the market for. If you check their web site they have lots of lectures and interesting things on keeping healthy and nutrition. I like that about Natural Grocers. They have make up, hair products, skin products all natural of course. VVery well stocked. The shelves are always full and very clean. Like Trader Joe's it lacks a separate butcher shop. They just have a selection of chicken, meats, etc. that are frozen. I'm glad they came to Tucson to add to the communities need for thinking healthy for all people who believe in eating food without processing it and using additives and dyes.
