This is a huge grocery store. You can use your Kroger number here. It is owned by Kroger. I just stopped in to get some Gator Aid and Reign Energy Drink. Should I did really do any grocery shopping. But I could tell this place has everything and then some. As I was putting my number in the Alt ID , it didn't go through and immediately an attended came up and asked if I needed help. I said thank you but I will put my other number in. That one worked. Nice place to shop. Covered parking lot , so the heat will not bake your car. read more

This is my second time at this grocery store, just due to being in the area. Is down the street conveniently located by a lot of restaurants, stores and more. Once you enter the parking lot, there's a large covered parking area available which is nice since it's very hot in Arizona. There's two different entrances in order to get into the store and you can either grab a cart to conveniently go through. Once I was walking around the store, I noticed it was very bright, opening organized and wide . Did not get a lot of reaction from the employees which was unusual. Some of them were just talking to one another and or on their phone or just didn't say anything when customers were in their presence. Overall, my experience was good. Will be nice for the employees to acknowledge the customers when they're in the store. And I was able to locate the items I was looking for that day. read more

I'm in town for the holidays and the stores are packed and they have check out aisles closed and the Lines are super long customer service reps are overworked. Management needs to look at having enough cashier reps to serve the checkout lanes because people are becoming a impatient and the cashiers is have to then deal with difficult people which should not be happening during the holidays. In addition to that the Starbucks which had no line took twice as long as normal to get my coffee because the barista's we're having discussions and filling out paperwork instead of serving the clients. read more

This Fry's is one of the grocery stores I frequent, more so now than when I first moved here. It is quite a large grocery store. Also, about 1/3 (possibly 1/4) of the store is non food items, such as kitchen items, beauty, skincare, clothes, toys, shoes, gift wrap/cards, etc. I appreciate the large parking lot and that it is mostly covered - the shade comes in handy on hot days and when it rains. They have grocery pick up, but I have not done that with them yet. I do have the app and sometimes utilize the coupons and fuel points. I've gotten up to $0.30 off a gallon before, and that's with me not shopping here all the time. Customer service has always been good here from my experience. I'm not sure if all Fry's are like this, but it cracks me up that they have a bar inside. Thursday - Saturday nights seem to be the most happening. I've been shopping and hear people being loud and also sometimes singing along to music. I have yet joined them, but maybe sometime in the future. It's also by a delicious cheese shop and deli. I'm impressed with their selection of food items. You can just about find anything here. I also appreciate their selection of health food, GF, and organic options. Their produce seens well stocked and fresh. I've always been readily helped when I've needed it, too. The only downside of this place is I don't get good phone reception, especially near the back. This is a relatively new Fry's, and it has all the bells and whistles. After visiting nearby ALDIs and then coming here; we felt lost in this store, but in a good way. This Fry's is cavernous inside. Where ALDIs sells mostly their own prepackaged items, something all grocers do, here national brands make up most of the shelf space and then some. And as noted above, Kroger has pulled out all the stops and has even put in a Wine Bar at this Fry's (see photo). We left overwhelmed and happy we found it, but only wished it was closer to us. Side note, if you every been to the Casa Grande in Coolidge, then this Fry's huge solar panels, high above the parked cars will be reminiscent of its protected covering. I have been coming to this Fry's ever since it's opened & they always have whatever I need at the moment! They have the best/freshest sushi & poké bowls. I wanted to shout out Marcella at self check out she is such a light of joy, she always has a big smile on her face & remembers me, asks how I am she's always so compassionate I always leave so happy after talking with her. Today was my last trip to a fry's store. This grocery store has 3 different prices depending on how much personal info and shopping habits you are willing to surrender to them, one price if you just walk in to buy something, a completely different price for the same product if they have your phone # and address and then a third price that you can get if you download "digital coupons". An item can literally go from 6.99 to 2.99 if you buy a smart phone to download the coupons otherwise you are out of luck. I am 72 years old and do not wish to buy a smartphone so I pay double or triple the price at the store that a younger more computer savvy person would pay. This is completely unfair ,and if not illegal it should be. There should be one price for everyone, and if an item is on sale it should be available to everyone without supplying the fry's company with personal info and shopping habits. This is the fry's from hell. A lot of other Fry's are great. They have friendly helpful staff and a store that is somewhat organized and easy to get around. Not this one. This store repeatedly has bad customer service. Probably the worst grocery store within miles. They have their app discounts, but if your cell service is bad, you lose. Too bad for you. Oh, they have wifi. "Run over to the far corner of the store" they say. I'm not kidding! The cashier said go over to the far corner of the store to try to get the FRYS app to work. No KIDDING! Run all over the store to try to get the FRY'S app to work! When this occasionally happens at another Fry's, they immediately help you out. They don't send you all over the store to try to get a signal (You can't make this stuff up). I'm thinking the manager wants to limit the number of discounts that are used to drive up the margins and thus his or her bonus. Nope, not on my back. Search for another FRY's. The store make look nice and have a wine bar and all these fancy things, but the layout is terrible and it take way longer to get your groceries. The whole labyrinth idea is to make it take longer so you will buy more of the junk they put out. This store is all about putting their hands in your pocket and lifting as much money out as possible while provide this worst possible service. DO NOT RECOMMEND. TRY A DIFFERENT STORE. read more

My husband and I went to used the restroom, which was totally vandalized and filthy with no paper towels, toilet sheet covers, no toilet paper and had feces all over both bathrooms. I wish I took a picture of both men and women's bathroom. Both men and women's. I went to the manager with long gray hair female, and I told her what I saw and she says it's up to upper management and didn't care. We were so disgusted , we left to go to another store. This show's management doesn't care at this location. She should have had someone attend to it ASAP!!!!! I was always taught a great manger is a Jack of all Trades !!!! I am convinced the deli gets all the newbies and bottom of the barrel. 90% of the time, they put the sales stickers directly over the part that seals the bags to keep the meat and cheese friesh. Went in to my local frys tonight and after asking an employee named Joyce if she can bring out some back stock for me to purchase what I wanted since it wasn't on the floor. She gave me attitude and wasn't any help. After talking to the front end manager about being able to bring out what I need, he was able to have her bring it out, but she gave me an attitude and tried lying about it not being in the back. When I tried to help her unbox what she brought out because she was struggling, she tried to hit me and said I was being a "little boy". No respect from Joyce at all and she hates dealing with customers from my experience. read more

One of the easier traps the egg heads in Corporate America fall into is believing their own press. They like to believe one size fits all, that what works in Cincinnati works in Phoenix. Sometimes it does. Most of the time it doesn't. Kroger, who owns Frys' has done a remarkable job of leaving this Phoenix homegrown Grocer alone (for the most part). Competitive and not into price gouging. Great selection and the Marketplaces, which this is, truly are outstanding shopping experiences. If I wasn't as cheap and driven to always get the best deal, I'd shop here exclusively. Produce is fantastic, great prices and high quality. Liquor is reasonably priced and the wine selection is well put together. The bakery is good, not great. I think Safeway/Albertsons does a great job with having likely the best Grocery story bakery in the valley. However, I love that Fry's carries Chompies bagels and breads! Love the covered parking, gas is an easy get on the way home, and this location has become a solid anchor for this corner of the world. So note to those Cincy Boys in the Kroger HQ, stay with the light touch and keep counting your nickels. read more

Due to covid, I ordered a $200. order on-line for the first time yesterday, and picked it up this morning. About 5 of my items weren't available, but Bud, who works at Frys, helped me find some of the items they didn't catch when they packed me up along with another young man (whose name I didn't get) who put all in my car. Such considerate help! So impressed with this service. I don't want to get lazy and do this after covid unless I have to, but you couldn't ask for a better service or nicer people--and fresher items--than from this Frys! It's long overdue to say this: Until Kroger or management start properly staffing this location, it's nothing more than a dressed up Mega Foods, with no discounts for bagging your own groceries. I can't even remember the last time I wasn't responsible for bagging. The poor cashier's are clearly stressed and overworked with doing two jobs at once, with long lines making it worse. Fortunately some of us take the initiative to help out but since when did it become our job to bag? Hire more staff and pay your employees! Deer Valley and 83rd always has baggers so my guess this is an issue with management. read more

I choose to do my grocery shopping here despite it not being the closest store to my house (a Safeway would be closest but they're overall more money than Fry's or some other stores). Overall, I feel like I get the best deals at Fry's. The only reason I am rating 4-stars is because staff isn't always the friendliest. It's not fun checking out, about to pay $125+ and not even be acknowledged. Last week, the checkout clerk and bagger had a full on conversation about math classes/school but I couldn't be given a second to ask how I am doing or say hello. One other part that can become frustrating are the amount of large carts around where people are putting together online orders for pickup. It does not make it easy to go up and down aisles when those carts are always around. Not sure there's a solution for that but many times there is no sense of urgency to move so myself and the cart can get through. I'll continue shopping here until: 1- a closer Fry's opens or 2- another store with better value appears. read more

In A Nutshell: -Fry's Marketplace is the Lord of Supermarkets! -It's super HUGE, extremely clean, organized & they have a freakin' beer & wine bar! -While you are enjoying your Sauvignon Blanc or ice cold draft IPA, you can ask the meat department to cook up that raw chicken or beef you plan to eat later. -That's the epitome of a full-service grocery store. Overall, since it's Arizona, they have a giant covered parking lot so you can spend hours inside & then come out to a bearable car. read more

I love this Fry's I come here sporadically just for a change. Very spacious and clean. I like to come an hour or two before closing as it is very quiet. They have a nice large produce section. I appreciate the healthier products they offer which once was in its own section, but now is sectioned off throughout the store where similar products are located. I like to browse the plant and patio area upfront before walking into the store to see if anything speaks to me. They have a nice gas station here as well just down the way. A great location to go when throwing a party for sure! read more

This store is always a mixed bag. It's huge, with a lot of stuff besides groceries. I wish I could like their availability of ready-to-eat on site meals and salads, but they are just SO inconsistent on that side. I never know what I will get on quality, freshness and employee help/friendliness. On my last visit they forgot the veggies completely on a Chinese style meal, and then the employee at the register ignored me completely for a while. When I asked her if I could check out she said "Oh I'm closing, I can't help you." Um...why not tell me that a few minutes before? The grocery part itself is quite good. There's a wider variety than usual, including things I can only find at specialty stores otherwise. There's an excellent selection of beer. Oh yeah, there's a bar with beer on tap and a huge selection of breads and cheeses. Produce is so-so, and varies a lot. One day they have huge bunches of cilantro at a great price, next time they are selling sketchy tomatoes. It's mostly pretty good, but rarely great. read more

I am FORCED to check myself out and I DO NOT want to check myself out!! You do not pay me or discount me to do the cahsiers job, right? I get overcharged literally 90% of the time! NO LIE!! Last time was the WORST!! Finally, there is a lane open without a line!! I unload my entire cart. The cashier cannot great me with a hello. She has no voice!! She is SICK!!! This review is specifically for the pharmacy. If you intend to use their automated service to call in & refill a prescription, DON'T! It'll give you a time/date that is totally out of sync with reality. When you wait in line to pick it up they tell you a different time & date several days later. "Oh well the automated system doesn't know what our inventory is" is the response. Uh, why are they using it then? Very poor service. read more
