It's a good Fry's with good pricing, great meat section, and good produce. Pretty good baked goods section too. I have been coming here since noticing that my more closeby Albertson's has crappier produce selection and quality. While Sprouts is my #1 go-to for produce and meat, I do have to come to the big stores for some key essentials in the soda and candy departments lol. So this Fry's having pretty good produce is a decent compromise. Knocked off one star as a few pantry/shelf items I've gotten were close to expiring within a month of buying them. My bad for not checking dates and being thorough, but nowhere else I've shopped has put expiring items front and center. I got you!! The one for cooking is in the kitchen area, which seems obvious but I walked past it sooo many times. It's there!!! It's the kitchen aisle that also has frozen stuff although I know they will eventually rearrange. If you need it for cleaning (which I learned today is a thing) it's in the aisle with laundry detergent. I shop here often and frequently, for a variety of different reasons. For starters, its really close to my home. Secondly, they have a bank of America branch located inside of the store, and thirdly, I like it here. They have a great selection of products, and the prices to choose from. They have a full service meat department, deli, hot foods counter, produce, along with all the traditional grocery items you would need. They do the VIP card thing, and I use mine and have gotten several good deals by using it. The customer service here is great, and the staff is alway friendly and helpful when I may need it. There are a few things that I disliked, thus the 4 star review. For starters, I wish they had more of the deli selections that I like. I find that some of the stuff that they offer I do not eat, or am just not interested in eating. They also don't seem to "mix it up" with offering more variety to the case as well. That would make a huge difference to me. The other thing that I disliked was I think they carry to much "other stuff." I don't get that. They have a toy section, patio furniture, and other stuff that I think could be used for more shelf space for food. I want food when I go to the grocery store...not a new patio set. Otherwise then that, the place has great hours, friendly staff, and most everything you would need for eating at home. read more

This review is for the bakery. I ordered my husband his birthday cake and I was very disappointed . While I was ordering I asked for red velvet . I was told that they don't make it there that they would have to special order it in. I said ok and picked out the design. The cake was messy sloppy a big indented swirl and then to top it off we were told that the price tag said chocolate but it was for sure red velvet. Well it was chocolate and it was not even good. I was so hoping to knock this birthday cake out of the park since my husband is an x ball player . We all took a bite and agreed it was one of the worst cakes we had ever tasted as well. ZERO Stars! Over priced goods, they are NEVER helpful when you need a service (returns, cash back, etc.) and I end up walking out frustrated with how they treat people EVERY TIME. I'm so sad they bought out Albertsons. Those are the two closest stores to me and this company is downright predatory. During covid I witnessed them treating their employees horribly! I kept asking over at Albertsons about merger news. One of the employees had actually quit Frys to go work at Albertsons because conditions were so awful and now is worried it will happen all over again. I hate the self check out lanes. I always do a full grocery trip after working a full day and exhausted. I don't want to struggle at a self check out lane. I want a cashier to ring me up and get me out the door. Lately, all they ever have open are self-check outs. I needed cash in various amounts and wanted to go through a cashier lane to get cash back in multiple denominations. They refused to open a lane and there was no one on duty in customer service to help me. It was only 9pm. I'd understand if it was in the middle of the night with a grave yard shift, but this was a simple customer service issue they refused to help with. I have stopped shopping there as much as possible. I'm from the Midwest and love Aldi, but they need to open a location between Tempe and chandler. If it was a little bit closer, I'd simply shop Aldi ALL the time. read more

My neighborhood Fry's is always stocked w/ whatever I may need. I made a charcuterie board for Christmas and they carried all the specialty meats, cheeses and dried fruits I needed. Honestly the customer service at this location is by far some of the worst I've ever experienced!! I work near by and often stop by the deli to grab some lunch items. I've never encountered an issue until today when I required assistance from the deli to get lunch. I attempted to take a number but the machine was empty, and both employees behind the counter made eye contact with me as i took a step back and waited to be helped. I was the first customer in line and there was one gentleman being helped in front of me. There where two employees working and only one providing assistance to the gentleman. The line began to grow and the other customers were scattered along the deli section waiting for assistance. The employee who was already helping a customer muttered something in Spanish while looking at me to the other employee. The second employee who had made eye contact with myself and others who were waiting, proceeded to walk to the closest person to her and began asking all kinds of questions. The customer who was being helped pointed at me and made note that others had been waiting longer than she. She was the last person to walk up to the area yet was the first one helped. I told the employees that myself and others had been waiting for assistance and the employee was very rude in telling me that I could wait. I am so sick of getting unfair treatment by elder Hispanic workers due to the fact that I am a young Caucasian female! This morning I was standing at the customer service desk with three employees behind the desk. All three completely ignored me. It was 7:57 AM. They did not even acknowledge my existence. I asked a cashier if there was anyone who could help me and she let me know the customer service desk opens at 8 AM. I started shopping here when I moved to Az. I like the store. It seems a bit out dated inside. It is a very large store with US Bank inside. Pharmacy. You can get your flu shot. It even has a clothing store. They just did a relocation of products and if you are like me you like to know where the things are and now I am lost and so many others I have talk to as we all our wondering around. To me, going to Fry's has its tradeoffs. Yes, it is a grocery store that you can find just about anything is (including clothing, which is weird to me...) and the store is always clean and well stocked. The only thing that I personally don't care for a ton about this store is the parking lot. It's laid out kind of funny, is always busy, and can be hard to navigate. With that being said, this is the best grocery store in the area. It's more expensive than going to Walmart, but I feel like the experience of going to Fry's (clean and neat) is well worth the high prices. I really like the deli and butcher counters here. This review is only for the seafood department in the store. I'm not an idiot, I realize that trying to buy fresh seafood in the Phoenix area is not one of the greatest ideas one could have, but I live in Boston and make my living as a fish monger/fish cook. So I know about fish, and my family was hoping that i would cook for them while I'm out here. This place was a fail as soon as I walked to the counter. The shell fish were all kept on plates above the ice and I noticed that several mussels and clams had already opened. Not only should shell fish be kept directly on ice, part way buried in the stuff is best, and if you loose a few in the process of the day you take them out of the case and dispose of the them. Not leave them out for everyone to see that your not keeping your seafood cold and just letting it go south. You may as well keep it out side in the trunk of your car. Spoiled seafood is spoiled seafood. I don't care if you do put it on a shiny platter and put a "sale" sticker on it. I ended up having to make do with some frozen flounder, I brought them home and thawed them out, only to find they were SATURATED with water, I actually had to hold them over the sink and gently squeeze water out of them. In the years I've worked with all manner of fish, I've never actually had wring a fish dry like it was some sort of towel. Honest to god, I twisted the ends until the fillets started to curl, then they started realizing an truly unusual amount of fluids. It was disgusting. read more

You have to really love Fry's as they go fully way out to provide everything you need. Lots of parking in the lot. Clean restrooms, if you need them. The best part is the selection of fruit and veg! The meat is always fresh here as well. They even have a deli area that serves ho tand ready to go meals. Great for those days when you have worked so hard you just do not want to cook. One down side for me is, the store is so big you can't always find what you want right away. Plus they have slef check out, which can some times be a drag. read more

Workers don't care, food is moldy and dirty, nothings stocked, broken displays, no carts, no PRODUCE BAGS, and always filled with people somehow. Went in just now because i just needed a few things... It was like the apocalypse. I was so overwhelmed i couldn't even get the few things i needed. They need to close this place down and finish the remodel (if that's what's going on) and get some employees in. This is my neighborhood Fry's and usually my grocery store of choice. I think that the layout of the store is good and easy to shop. The produce selection is good and they have a fair amount of organic options. I also like the selection of natural products that this location has. This location also has a Fry's gas station right out front which saves you some money at the pump if you have enough rewards on your Fry's card. I usually feel like I get a pretty good deal here. Associates have also always been eager to help if I need to find something. The check out experience has always been good. One of the reasons for the three star review is because the bathrooms at this location are disgusting. I have informed a manager on one of my visits of the horrible condition that the bathrooms are in and she did seem to take action right away as far as sending someone to clean them. The store does seem a little bit aged which is odd because I think that it is fairly new. I would recommend going to the restroom before going shopping at this location. read more

Absolutely done with this place. I have been coming here for the last 3 years (since I moved here) at least 2-3 times a week. Today I went there with my brother in-law who is 19 years old and is AUTISTIC. I was simply there to get a pack of white claws and a floatie for our BBQ today. I was in the self checkout aisle, and a man named Josh came up to me and asked for my I.D. I presented it to him (I am 28 years old) and then he wanted to card my brother in-law. I explained to him that he is autistic, hes harmless, and there is NO WAY HE IS DRINKING. Josh didn't care.. I asked for his manager. His manger Isaac then came over, and didn't care either that my brother in-law was autistic and wont be participating in drinking. He has never even had a drink of alcohol in his life! I mean this is kinda a form of racism I feel? Every time I have been there for the last three years with my friends, or family, or husband, they have never asked to card the other person, and now suddenly today they want to enforce the rules?? Do they card a child who is 16 years old with their mother who is buying wine? Um no. IT WAS WRONG. I ended up just walking out of there without the white claw, but something needs to change there! They have officially lost a customer! Not only that, this isnt the first customer service issue. They never seem to know where anything is if you ask, they all have attitudes, and they need new floors. The store is run down and outdated. Changes need to be made. read more

It has everything you need from fresh food, a pharmacy with an excellent staff, a minute clinic, a starbucks, and even a mini clothing store! More than just a grocery store, this Fry's has a kitchenware, clothing, pet section, and more. Baskets are usually stocked, unlike some of the other Fry's I've been to. Sales are decent with the Fry's card although not the cheapest I've seen. Never too busy and there are two self-checkout sections which is a huge plus. Because of the large selection and proximity to my home I'll continue to shop here - at least for most the basics. read more
