Fresh sushi. This place is very busy. They only do dine in during lunch time and Saturdays for dinner. We had been here 11 years and went back the other day. It is still has the same quality food. We ordered sashimi (wild salmon, Atlantic salmon, and scallops). We ordered dynamite rolls for the kids, and wild sockeye salmon rolls. Everything was prepared well and tasted wonderful. Let me start by saying that in Vancouver, you are spoiled with many, many cheaper options for good sushi. I am one of those people. I rarely have to spend more than $20 on good sushi and I'm full. But this place, the sushi was good, but I have never seen such small portions. I had to order like $38 worth of food to feel marginally full. Their California roll was the size of a quarter and the Negitoro roll was even smaller. They were literally the smallest rolls I've ever seen and I eat a ton of sushi. It wouldn't take a lot for them to change this up -- they just need to add more rice to provide a more regular size roll for their customers. Lovely people and very good taste. read more

Came here for dinner with some friends. Not busy on this Saturday night and we were seated promptly. We ordered green tea and settled in. We decided to order some tuna and salmon sashimi and an assortment of rolls. The tuna and salmon were melt in your mouth and tasted very fresh. The rolls were excellent. We also got assorted tempura and they were great - not greasy at all. Nice little shop in the mountains. Will definitely come back when we come that way again. read more

Came in just after 2 pm and there was nobody else in the restaurant. The interior was clean and little bit of Japanese decor. Was greeted right away and told we could sit anywhere so we did. Waitress was friendly and was willing to help if needed with menu. Since I or my guest never been to this restaurant before it took a bit to decide what to order. The waitress was fine with us taking our time, never felt rushed to place our order. We ordered to start tako yaki ( octopus dumplings) I found the batter sweet but not overpowering, and not over cooked. The filling was fine, my only complaint was just a little tiny octopus meat was found in each dumplings. Both myself and company ordered the sushi lunch combo . No real complaints only wish the salad and soup was a bit larger portion size. The tobiko came few mins after we got our lunch combo. I haven't had this in a long time. My other companion hadn't tried it before , I enjoyed but it wasn't my guest thing. They have a small section of the menu for kids meals which is great. Also lots of vegetarian options as well. Really want to try the dessert but sadly I was full , was told by waitress it a big seller. read more

I dined here twice over the weekend when in town and would give it around 3.5 stars. To summarize, the portions are small and it is very pricey, but it is good quality. You have to be very careful and watch the prices when you order typical rolls and dishes. Our first order we got two appies, two rolls, and some sashimi. Pretty standard right? Should be around $45, but it added up to $90. Also the sizing was very small, two rolls and the sashimi fit in one of those rectangular plastic to go containers. The second night we were mores careful and got more of the cheaper rolls to make sure we left actually full. It came to around $60 the second time for two people with only standard rolls. A California roll for example is still $7. In summary, it was good, but very expensive for still leaving hungry. That being said it's the only sushi restaurant in Invermere, so if you're craving sushi you can't really go wrong. read more

We visit Fairmont every year and can't wait to get to Fubuki Sushi! I grew up in Vancouver, so I know good Japanese food;) This place is small, but very clean and modern. I always have the Chicken Katsu, and am always impressed...they give you TONS of crispy fried chicken, on a bed of rice with some shredded cabbage ect underneath. This comes with soup or salad. i had the miso soup which was excellent! Today we also tried the Yam-nuska roll and it was great. My husband had the same, and my kids shared a chicken teriyaki bowl that also looked good. I love how 'kid friendly' this restaurant is. They don't offer colouring sheets or any activities for the kids (mine are 3 & 4) but they will happily split a meal into two separate plates for the kids. (They also put the soup into two bowls) I know this sounds unimportant, but it makes it much easier for me as a mother ;) I highly recommend eating at Fubuki Sushi! read more

Surprisingly good, authentic Japanese food! We had the udon with tempura ($14), salmon skin roll ($6.50) and mega lunch box ($16) for lunch in Feb 2013. Oh man such good sushi! The two of us ordered the boat, which was a good amount of food for $39.95. We gobbled it all up in record time and ended up ordering more! Everything was super fresh, DELICIOUS and inventive. The pieces of salmon they put on the nigiri was THICK, like it could almost be a piece of sashimi! Yum yum, totally will go back if I'm back in Invermere! read more

Excellent sushi place, and the only one in the area! Surprisingly vegetarian friendly, with some innovative selections on the menu. On our most recent visit, my partner got the lunch special, which included seared salmon nigiri and a tempura fried spicy tuna roll. Definitely not your usual bento box! I tried the Shiitake Supreme Roll, filled with shiitakes, asparagus & red pepper, with yummy inari draped across the top, all drizzled in spicy mayo (which I had to avoid, sadly). They offered several different vegetarian rolls, including small ones with pickled radish, and ones with gourd. (Miso is not vegetarian, though - fish is included) Both lunch & dinner menus have non-sushi items as well, with several teriyaki dishes available in the evening. Two downsides - no reservations for small groups, & they are closed on Sundays. If they weren't, we would have stopped on our last trip back through! read more

We called today try and get a table for our party of 10 (6 adults and 4 small kids). We had read reviews on Yelp and noticed this restaurant was highly rated. Upon speaking with Leah at Fubuki, we were told the room that held 10 was currently being used and we should try to come back another night. I was confused as I had never been turned away from a restaurant before, even in the Lower Mainland. I guess the folks at Fubuki don't covet business from tourists? Or maybe Leah will be out of a job soon once her boss finds out. Either way, very frustrating! Our kids love sushi. That said the pizza place nearby was great and far more pro-tourist. read more

Awesome little sushi joint in Invermere. Seriously one of my favourite places to go for sushi. They have fresh ingredients, a great menu and unique sushi selections. I had the summer roll - tempura whitefish, cucumber, mango, avocado and spicy mayo. Very refreshing and soooo yummy! Matt S My wife and I stopped in at Fubuki Sushi on a Tuesday early evening approximately 5:45 pm and noticed there was one table left for patrons and we were prepared to order and take out. We were provided a menu and an item check list which we filled out over 10-14 minutes. We presented our order to the server and she left only to return a minute later with the news that we would not be provided our order until about 8:30 pm (she said that they had a lot of take out orders) which would mean we would have to sit on the bench or leave and come back at that time. My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief, we stood up and said thank you and left. I guess in hind site we could have taken the empty table and place our order and asked for take out containers after our order arrived, then scooped the food into containers and left. Definitely left a bad taste in our mouths(without eating anything) and suggest poorly managed restaurant with not a lot of thought to customer service and satisfaction. read more

This has to be the best sushi I've ever had - unique and varied choices, fresh ingredients, and aesthetically appealing.

We went there May 29, 2014 after arriving in town from the US. I did so based upon the rave review from other yelpers. People in Canada must love paying through the nose for average sushi! I paid over $100 for multiple rolls and chefs choice sashimi that MABE could feed two people. Just a warning, sushi was good enough but NOT for that price. read more
