I've been to Fuchai three times but all those times I have been in a rush since my dance studio is right across the street and I stop to get a quick bite before the class. The employee that works there already knows I'm in a rush so she does everything in her power to speed up my order. I have tried both Bao Buns: Spicy Chicken Gui & Pork Belly with Asian Slaw Bao Bun. My favorite would have to be the Pork Belly of course. It's semi-sweet with the slaw and a soft and chewy warm Bao Bun. Delicioso! Both are $8.95 for two filling buns. I've also tried the Yeon Seo Salad that comes with grilled Salmon, green leaf, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and yuzo vinaigrette. Very refreshing and light salad. Fuchai is a small hole in the wall with no more than 10 tables the most but it's so homie and the food is good with great service, I must come back for a longer visit! read more

I made it part of my walk outside time and did a pickup order of some amazingly yummy bulgogi and bibmibap and the vegan dumplings today. I like going here ONLY for the jajangmyeon, if it weren't for how good the jajangmyeon was I would not be going here because it is incredibly overpriced and every time I come back the prices just keep going up. Fuchai is a gem! Nestled in Edgewater on 2nd Avenue this tiny restaurant packs huge flavor. We came in on Friday night for dinner and were thoroughly impressed. The spot is small, there are about 5-6 tables and some bar-style seats that overlook the street. I called ahead to make a reservation, but they only accept reservations for parties of 5 or more. The decor is really nice, too. It's exposed brick with some graffiti art that is perfect for the near Wynwood restaurant. Let's talk about the food from this Chinese Korean Kitchen. We started off the meal with Steamed Pork dumplings. They come served in a bamboo steamer basket and I was so surprised that there are not one but TWO layers of dumpling goodness to enjoy. The dumplings came with a sweet chili sauce as well as a soy hoisin sauce for dipping. We left them both at the table for our entrees because they were that good. For the meal we ordered a small special fried rice that was amazing. I can't remember the last time I had a fried rice that was not greasy at all. Instead it was packed with pork, shrimp and all the other delicious additions that make fried rice so great. The small by the way is huge! We were so full splitting this along with our other entree. Upon recommendation of the server, we ordered the Beef Kalbi. It's marinated over 24 hours and comes out to the table presented beautifully over an asian slaw. The beef literally falls off the bone and is so tender and juicy. We loved every bite! Last but not least we ordered Egg Rolls as well. Again, fried to golden perfection but not greasy at all. We really enjoyed dining at Fuchai and will definitely be back. The service was friendly and fast, the food was awesome and the prices are so affordable! We ate like kings for less than $45. We saw they also have delivery via Eat24 so we may be hitting that up when the craving for Chinese takeout hits. read more

Goodness gracious, where have you been all my life? I cannot seriously remember the last time that my stomach was so heavily struck by Cupid as it did this past Saturday. See, this is how it all started. I wanted to go to O Cinema Wynwood to go watch Your Name with my boyfriend as I heard it had amazing reviews, and well, it did not disappoint, but that is neither here nor there. We opted to eat before the movie, and as always, having your boyfriend being a Yelper, too, makes things interesting. After a discussion as to where to eat in Wynwood, and let me tell you, it was quite long as we kept flipflopping between places, we chose to try a new place, and at least I can say this - I am so happy we did! Fuchai is a baby in the long scheme of things. It has been open for a few weeks, even popping up as Hot and New on Yelp. Heck, at the time of this review, if we do not include my review, I believe there are 15 reviews, so hence, this review must be written. People must be aware of this place's awesomeness, although admittedly I want to lie and say it was horrible, so this gem can be left alone. Alas, I must not be selfish. My ranting aside, this restaurant is small. Five tables or so, plus an area by the window with maybe another three or four chairs. There are perhaps two or three waitresses working tops, and the menu, while excellent, could probably use more Korean dishes. It isn't exactly the norm in these parts, but that being said, what they do offer is absolutely worthwhile. We ended up ordering steamed pork dumplings and beef satay for our appetizers. Both were amazing. The pork dumplings came in the cutest little container and there were two accompanying sauces: sweet and sour, as well as soy sauce. I preferred the soy sauce, but both were great choices. In terms of our main dishes, my boyfriend had the dolsot bibimbap, while I had the beef jachae. Given that this was my first venture into Korean food, I was rather impressed. Well, except for the kimchi, which I am not a fan of, but then again, I don't like cabbage much. For dessert, we had the sweet Beijing lemon trifle (and yes triffle, not truffle, because somehow I kept getting this confused). It was a unique dessert and absolutely to die for. Admittedly we ended up going back and forth with it, and well, I conceded and gave the rest to my boyfriend. He just had this puppy dog look on his face with this dessert. I am pretty sure I did, too, come to think of it. Our waitress, Shelsea, was attentive without being pushy. Perfect combo. As far some things to note, for you AMEX users, they don't accept it, and well, for you liquor lovers, as of right now, they have no license, so if you can deal with that, this place is fabulous, even if it's going through some growing pains. read more

Restaurant business is a difficult one...I know since I'm involved with one. Food quality, customer service, location, ease of parking, and value are all important in running and owning a successful business. We had many different dishes here and have to say that the food quality is higher than I expected. My favorite was the Kalbi... the taste was on point, and tenderness of the meat was amazing. The bone fell off the meat! So therefore, I highly respect the chef and everything he has done there. Service was good btw. However, my great taste in food eventually got doused out by the high prices. How do you charge $13.50 for a row of short ribs? I have dined all over the world and found the price in this location ludicrous. Sure it's not my business but knowing how this business is run, I will not return because there is no value. The reason why I frequent places I really enjoy many times a month or a week is because they offer all of the above mentioned. Spent over $80 for 2 orders of kalbi, 1 bolgogi, 1 shrimp pancake, 1 steamed dumplings, and a flan. For lunch. I hope they change update this as they surly aren't a gourmet place. read more

I wouldn't say the tastes are authentic but pretty close to what I had in Seoul (Miami is such an Asian food desert). The spicy tofu soup is so far my favorite during the visit. The amount of spice plus the sweetness from the vegetable and the sourness from the kimchi. These three elements with a side of white rice are the perfect combination of Korean cuisine!! Was in the mood for some Korean food an this definitely hit the spot! The atmosphere was intimate and cozy, a hole in the wall type deal with k-dramas playing on the TVs. I ordered the Asian Pear juice and my friend ordered the White Grape Nectar juice, which were both really good. I ordered the Deji Sangyeopsal which was all right, the gochu sauce made it good. However, where the restaurant really shines was its DELICIOUS bibimbap. It came out steaming and audibly hissing and tasted amazing. If you go here, get the Dalsot bibimbap. Only complaint I have is that there no little side dishes like kimchi or radish (a side of kimchi was 8 (!) dollars) that came with the dishes. read more
