Fuel is a cool large space in a reimagined industrial building, right near WPI and the Courtyard Marriot. The espresso drinks are not especially strong. There's a variety of food -- açaí bowls, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, pastries. We had breakfast sandwiches. They were less expensive than the hotel breakfast. We came in here briefly to get some take out drinks with friends. I ordered a double espresso and my wife ordered a matcha latte. The espresso was strong, bitter (which I like) and gave me the jolt I needed for the day. I tasted my wife's matcha latte and it was good, but nothing spectacular. It had an earthy flavor and mildly sweet. I also bought a bag of coffee beans. I brought the bag back home ground it and made a pot of coffee via a chemex. I wasn't impressed with the coffee at all. It might be because I usually drink coffee that has a lot of character to it. It could be sweet, chocolatey, citrus, etc. This coffee just tasted bland and I am pretty good at differentiating the flavors because I normally drink just black. This cafe is very spacious and would be a great place to work from. I would definitely work here remotely if it was closer to home. Food: I ordered the iced matcha latte with oat milk and a pump of vanilla. It was taste and the consistency was good. Gave it a 4/5 since I've had some good matcha competition. Shortly after I arrived and plugged in, someone (Kind) came out of their car and told me that customer service told them my spot wasn't working. However, my car did connect, I read that as whoever he called at customer service took care of the issue immediately. That was great! It advertises at 350 but the highest I ever saw it was 50kw. If that's enough for you, that's great! I took the opportunity to walk, there's a big parking lot and a couple of hills nearby. I got in about 3000 steps to kill my time. I'm not much of a shopper, and this place is connected to a big shopping store if that's your thing. Overall, the parking lot was clean, the Chargers worked and well it's much more expensive, more than double where I live, it was totally worth it! Fuel America kills it for coffee shop vibes in Worcester. I really dig this location on Grove street. From the front entrance with the brick pavers and water fountains--it feels like you're in a different country. Parking is a bit of a hassle though. They do offer free parking but you'll have to dial in at the parking lot which is located on the side street where Courtyard Marriott hotel is. The instructions posted didn't seem to work so I had to dial in manually. I was able to enter the parking lot though. I ordered the nitro cold brew and it wasn't as rich as I liked. The taste seem too watered down. My wife had the cafe mocha and the rich taste to the coffee she said wasn't there. Overall a great place to visit but the coffee is mediocre imo. I'll have to try their hot coffee next. But might be reluctant to do so as of now. read more

I love Fuel America, especially the Grove Street location. The vibe is really cool, urban and industrial. There is lots of seating and you don't feel like you're stuck right next to someone else. They welcome you to sit and work for a while. The coffee selection is great, as are the sandwich selections. The last time I visited, their playlist was completely on point. The only negative is that I have had internet issues in the past (weak wifi), 1 of 2 trips this was a problem. Free wifi. Great place to enjoy coffee with a friend or get some work done with light fare. read more

I stayed at one of the hotels nearby where the coffee was absolutely horrible. Fuel is just across the street in an adorable warehouse courtyard. The selection of pastries, breakfast bowls, and hot foods were so yummy. Way more food than the usual coffee shop. The espresso drinks were aces but they also offered good quality seasonal flavored drinks if that's your jam. It's also attached to a super cute gourmet market where I got interesting snacks to stash in the hotel room. I'd stay at the hotel again just to be near Fuel. read more

One year update review! I've been in and out of Fuel for about a year now and I'm happy to say that they're one of the best coffee shops in Worcester. From their standard menu, to specialty/seasonal drinks, and their fun events... What's not to love? The staff continue to do their best to provide great food and drinks and above and beyond customer service. As a side note, I came in when there was also a tech issue with their online ordering platform and their staff and management went above and beyond to try to get the order in. I'm a coffee snob, very picky, don't do lattes and such, so I will start by saying the coffee is ok but not great. I had a pour over once that tasted a little stale and I bought a bag of single origin beans that was about eight weeks old. after I asked for it and the person was so nice, I didn't want to complain about it. They do a decent Bulletproof coffee, so that is always an option. The food, the ambiance, the service are all fantastic. The breakfast sandwiches are very good, everything is fresh, carefully prepared. the açaí and coconut bowls are excellent, generous portions with really nice fresh fruit. The servers have all been friendly and courteous. The cafe is spacious and clean and woody with comforting lighting (talking about the Grove Street location). The times I have been there it is quiet enough to do some light work, but not so quiet that I am afraid to talk to people. Free parking! read more

I had one of the coconut bowels. It had been prepared in advance and kept in the freezer to keep the yogurt on the bottom firm. This didn't make the fruit on top very appetizing. I also had a chai latte and it was the worst that I had anywhere. It was bitter and grainy. The top quarter of the cup was foam. My first time at Fuel America, not anxious to go back.
