We ordered from Fuel yesterday morning after returning home from a night shift. As usual, we were essentially ordering dinner at 9am. There's something about cranking out endless hospital admissions that makes me crave bready and cheesy and we're usually jonesing for pizza as our post work binge. Fortunately, Fuel America is kind enough to offer pizza at 9am during the week. We ordered a large cheese pizza. It was large so I will definitely give them a check in the size department. I also enjoyed their unusual interpretation of the shape of a circle, see my photo for details. The crust was RAZOR thin with very poor integrity. Folding the slice in half did not provide the support required against gravity and the tip of the slice was perpendicular, rather than the ideal-for-consumption parallel to the ground when held by the crust alone. When considering flavor alone, I would say "EH" which corresponds to a score of about 6/10 in my rating system. Noteworthy to mention, when I reheated it in the oven approx 40 hours later, I was expecting a sogfest. Despite the thinness of the crust, it did not absorb ANY grease and it was not IN THE LEAST bit soggy. Very pleasantly surprised. I wanted to top off my bready and cheesy with sweet and fruity and ordered one of their many varieties of intriguing acai bowls. They have a pina colada crush which immediately caught my eye with coconut sorbet, granola, pineapple, bananas, and coconut flakes. Ultimately I wanted to reap whatever health benefits everyone rubs off to acai about and I ordered the Aussie Bowl with acai sorbet, bananas, kiwi, pineapple, chia seeds, and coconut flakes. In retrospect, I didn't realize it was acai SORBET which changes the nutrition value a bit. The bowl was really delicious. Instead of a weak excuse for toppings, this bowl was absolutely packed with toppings. They put on essentially half of a banana, probably half of a kiwi, and a bunch of pineapple. One of the better acai bowls I've had in the area. Tina is a sandwich bitch and added an order of the West Coast sandwich with brie, spring mix with fig and pesto on multigrain ciabatta. I helped her out with this one and while she was disappointed by the few ingredients, I thought this was a nice and flavorful sandwich. The fig spread overpowered the brie a bit and I wish there was more of a representation of that flavor but over all, I would say a very solid sandwich.

I walked into a relaxing atmosphere. Staff was really friendly. Some customers in there quietly studying. Others socializing with friends. I wasn't too sure what to get but i remembered on the website. There was a video of a customer mentioning how the acai bowls were good after a workout. So i decided to try it. Right away I was happy about the presentation. Good amount of fresh fruit sliced up carefully on top. Then the sweet frozen smoothie underneath with granola. I made sure to blend it in well. Now I understand to someone more familiar with acai bowls this is the usual. But for me it was my first one and a great starting point.

Conveniently located across from a couple of hotels, this coffee spot is perfect for grabbing a cup of joe. The restaurant is very modern with a sleek, warehouse feel and lots of stainless steel. There was plenty of space for larger groups to meet as a family or for doing work. Make sure to check out the sidewall which has a row of comfy couches built-in. The service was fast, pleasant, and helpful. I had a cold brew which hit my caffeine need well. For breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast and much enjoyed it. There was a ton of avocado and salad on top. They sliced up a hard-boiled egg on top, which was a delightful addition. It's was a filling and healthy option.

    I love this table.

Mixed feelings ! I have been in Worcester forever and I gotta say it's nice to see a new coffee place that's serious about coffee pop up in the new downtown development. I've been a few times and I gotta say it's a far cry from the old Java hut and the coffee kingdom ( showing my age if you remember those spots) but a little different than the newer brew on the grid across the common. I liked the food options a lot better here versus the former- seemed a little bit better thought out. The space is enormous so when things go back to normal I can see this place filling up with students but not many else than the people intended to occupy the new apartments close by. Not in a zillion years have people gone downtown to just hang out - not since they demolished the common outlet and downtown has been in much need of actual revival not just some shiny new construction. I digress. The cold brew was great and the lattes were frothy but didn't have the stronger espresso taste I was looking for. Cappuccino next time. The egg sandwiches were made to order but they use a frozen egg so I opted I'm out for just veggies. They also have nice selection of juices and sparkling water. If you stay in the AC hotel across the street I would get coffee and snacks here way before calling the 110.

The place is so quit and cozy. I had one of the best lattes in my life it is clean and their pastry options are good (I tried cinnamon roll, it was delicious ) Highly recommended since not many cafe as it's level can be found in downtown Worcester

They have a really nice space but the coffee and food options were pretty subpar for being at a premium price point.

Their coffee remains consistent and they brew the best bean in town. Truly a hidden gem...literally. They're hidden in the back of Rotmans (old furniture store) and you'll never see it from the main road. I drink coffee on a regular basis and could probably consider myself an amateur coffee snob lol. Lately I have made a purchase for teas and my wife didn't like the selections I've chose so they were welcoming and honored an exchange. I just had to pay the difference which I was glad to. We had good company with us and so there's also ample seating in the next room--you can enter from the front of the building as you enter through the main entrance or go through the back. Cheers

I stopped by to get a couple of coffees to go, and a pastry. The staff was very patient and pleasant to chat with - something I really miss with the larger coffee chains. The coffees were made exactly as I requested, and the pastry was warmed up and wrapped in a foil to maintain the heat. I really love the attention to detail. I'll note that I noticed they use Monin brand syrups (my favorite!). They are not the cheapest option, so it goes to show that the folks at Acoustic Java care about quality over maximizing profit. The location is great - a bit hidden, but the industrial vibe just fits for a small roasting company. I love that the roastery is visible through the glass panels. The packaged beans are all laid out for you to easily read the labels and shop. I love that they carry quality tea for non-coffee drinkers/tea lovers. The merch is also cute, I was very tempted to add yet another coffee shop tote bag to my hoard. They carry a huge variety of used and new books - and they offer the most unique pricing I've ever seen. You can look up the cost of the book online - so long as the condition is roughly the same, that's how much they will charge you for the book (+ tax)! That's amazing, and I don't know how they can possibly even make money with this policy, but with the giant chain and online retailers, it's really the best incentive to get folks to support local. I think one of the biggest highlights here, on top of the great coffee, ambiance, and service, is that they offer various tastings, classes, and live music events. Personally, I feel like this is key in building a community, and I love that they do this. You can look up the different events on their website, some of which are free to attend. I can definitely see this as a place to come read a book over some tea, catch up with a friend over coffee, or take a date to a barista class for a unique experience.

Only thing that is bad about this place (and it's really bad) is the actually physical location of this store. It's on a pretty busy street ( Brookfield Road or Stafford) a really nice sign to welcome You but there is only 1 handicapped spot to park - the other spots are for the remnants of an apartment .. that is on the opposite site / above the coffee shop ! Seems wild to have signed that lease truly - not even foot traffic can pass by here it's so strange ! The actual parking lot is down a set of steps way too treacherous in the winter or frosty weather and a challenge for those with physical limitations (maybe not handicapped ) but even so there's only ONE spot for the disabled and those stairs themselves are confusing to where they bring you to on the side - I was pretty sure I almost opened the door into Someone's apartment kitchen trying to enter this place from What I thought was a side or back entrance ( would make sense since the parking lot is in Ohio) All in all it's a lovely shop but I won't be back based on convenience to get to.

As for food: -- Cranberry Orange Scone: Superb. Slightly sweet, a little biscuity, with good moistness and understated glaze that lets the base shine. Sometimes warm. -- Chocolate Croissant: I doubt this is made in house. Flaky, yes, but something's off. Seems like a prefab product from the freezer section. You can do much better than this. -- Rugelach: Very rich with potent Nutella flavor. A little greasy, but in a good way. Small but packs a flavor wallop. -- Cinnamon Bun: Decent. Nice moist glaze and a somewhat dry winding dough. -- Brioche Bun: A small round braided number similar to a pain swisse but also a Scandinavian bun, with custard and chocolate chips. Innovative, but dry and rubbery. Good coffee and good atmosphere, but a mixed bag on the morning treats, with some hits and misses. Order what works for you and you should be happy, especially when comparing against similar places in the immediate area or distant 'burbs. Just don't expect Boston quality and you'll be fine.
