On the outside it very cute and welcoming. There is lots of places to sit and study. Location: The location is prime. It not too far from the local colleges and is in the middle of Downtown Worcester. Menu: There is a large menu for coffee based drinks, smoothies, and sandwiches. Experience: I was tricked when I ordered an Iced Latte Macchiato. They charged me an extra 40 cents for ice. I've never been to a coffee shop that charges extra for ice. I didn't notice it till after I paid. I wish the barista would've told me " Is it okay for extra charge on ice?" I've been to many coffee shops in various states so I was quite surprised. My boyfriend tried to order the nitro cold brew and was told "oh it's not working but its what we are known for." I was like huh how can you be known for it if it's not available. Quality of Drink: Since the nitro cold brew was unavailable my boyfriend ordered and iced coffee. He said it was okay but nothing outstanding and tasted burnt. The Iced Latte Macchiato was wayyyy too strong and didn't have much flavor. I would recommend you trying another coffee shop or Starbucks if you're needing a coffee kick. read more

Updating a review here. I've visited this cafe over 5 years ago around the time they recently opened and recently started again with my morning coffee run. I'm glad this place opens early--I tried visiting some other places around town and they just don't cut it. I'm a nitro cold brew fanatic and this place hits the spot. Very disappointing. Order (pick-up): Latte Macchiato w/caramel and half n half. Sausage, egg, cheese on Everything bagel 1. Zero customer service. Yes, I was picking up my order but usually, when a barista is standing right near the counter where you pick up your food, they say hello. None of the 3 young ladies there acknowledged my existence, let alone said "hello" and there were no other customers. What is the point of tipping? 2. "Bagels order from New York every day" I call BS. Total false advertisinf. I lived in NYC and what I received was a Thomas's Bagel at BEST. It wasn't even toasted/warmed. 3. Sausage patty was cold in the middle, eggs were not warm at all...not cold because my order was waiting for me for a few extra minutes but cold because they werent warmed up long enough. 4. $.50 for ICE in an ICED latte??!! Seriously?? If I have to pay for ice, I should get my own separate cup of ice. Instead, I received like 6 small cubes. 5. Medium size seemed very small. How many ounces? Maybe 12. I try not to patronize the chain shops but this place, especially with their prices, has to do better. read more

Brew has a wonderfully welcoming interior, and the chess game board for customers is a nice touch. I loved the bread options for breakfast sandwiches (English muffin, croissant, Hawaiian roll, and Wonder Bread I'm sure). The coffee latte had multiple options beyond cows milk (oat, almond, soy, and milk extracted from Wonder Bread I'm sure). I was a bit bummed that I believe they neglected to put the caramel in my latte as I certainly didn't taste it, but that's my only real complaint. The friendly service was a plus, and she kept a smile despite the fact that inexplicably she was working alone and managing a line of customers. Very nice coffee shop in downtown Worcester with some smaller tables and a few larger "community" tables. They have a full range of hot and cold coffees, plus a smaller selection of pastries. I chose a double espresso which was very strong and very rich. No grounds in the bottom. It was great. Bagel was good. Toasted with a small pot of cream cheese. Nothing special, but I wasn't ordering anything special. It was a bagel. I didn't check to see if they have a wifi here but I did see power outlets and certainly they didn't mind us hanging out here for a little while. A good spot for getting work done. read more

Perfect place to grab a bite and get some work done. I can't believe how productive I actually was and I think a lot of it came from the chill atmosphere. There is a good amount of seating (tables, stools, armchairs) with electrical outlets nearby and windows all around, perfect for people-watching. Wifi is free, coffee was strong, and food was delicious, so there's really not much else to ask for. I had the Turkey & Smoked Cheddar sandwhich which the barista kindly recommended, and it was delcious. Yes, it looks like a burger but that is only a positive in my book. read more

My bf and I decided that we wanted to look to see if there were any coffee shops in the Worcester area that are new, surprisingly Brew On The Grid made it on that list! He enjoyed a cappucino (he said it was the best cappucino he's ever had!) Kudos to the barista for being awesome. I enjoyed a decaf iced coffee with vanilla (also really good with half & half!) The cinnamon scone was AMAZING! It was so moist and NOT dried out like everywhere else. However, we did look at the online menu and saw that they had a bunch of pastries listed, but were not present/available when we went. I have no idea how I just recently discovered this place, super cute place with a science looking interior. I assume the theme was picked since it's located right next to MCPHS, school of science majors to attract those students as well as those office workers nearby! I essentially just got a black nitro brew coffee, nothing out of the ordinary but definitely kept me up all night for my overnight! Honestly coffee isn't disappointing and a quiet work environment at best, I'd be willing to come here to study if I could just for the attractive atmosphere and coffee. read more

A great cafe not just to have coffee but also snack on. Worcester downtown needs more places like these. Won't complain about the coffee however it can be better. The kids working here are awesome folks and always with a smile on. Great place to work as well if you are looking to work outside as the internet is pretty good. If you are looking for a homey unique delish breakfast experience this place is not it. The bacon egg and cheese everything bagel sandwich was very reminiscent of Dunkin' Donuts. Pre made circular egg patties, thin fatty bacon strips, and a microwaved bagel, not toasted are what you can expect. Great service, clean and dog friendly(my fav)! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious, the pressed juices are delicious and the coffee is strong. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because they used to make the sandwiches when you ordered them, and they were on fresh toasted baguettes. Now they pre-make them and Saran-wrap them so they get soggy and just not good anymore. I wish they'd bring back the old sandwiches! Make sure to get a peanut butter cookie! read more

This is a really nice place with some real potential. The staff needs a bit more training (or at least the girl who took my order did). I walked up to the counter and the two people working kept working, no one acknowledged me so I decided to take a few minutes to look over the menu. Finally the younger of the two took her place at the register which I guess was a signal it was time to do this, so I ordered a bagel with ham and egg and a hot coffee. She asked me if it was for here or to go and when I told her I was staying there I assumed she'd put it in a mug, but instead she reached for a paper cup-- I asked her for a mug instead (which were sitting right next to the paper cups) and she regarded me for a few minutes like I asked if I could just get the coffee poured into my hands instead. "You want a mug??" "Yes, please." "Okay...." Was there something I wasn't in on? Were these joke mugs that leak all over you? I prefer to drink out of a mug because I think it tastes better. Anyway, as she put my coffee on the counter the other woman put my bagel sandwich up beside it-- super fast service. The sandwich was really good- a solid almost New York style bagel and it was perfectly toasted (the whole place smelled like great toast) but she had put that awful looking orange cheese on it. I was about to sit down for a meeting, I hate orange cheese but what the hell I could solve this first world problem simply by taking it off only I couldn't-- so I just lived with it and it was fine. The coffee and the bagel were so hot I let them sit for a few minutes while my companions got settled and we discussed our planned takeover of the free world in a pretty nice atmosphere that was sunny and bright and very quiet. Overall a good place but one star off because they got my simple order wrong and another because you have to greet your customer. read more

As a non-New England native, I believe I'm excused from the obligatory 'Dunks' obsession - and for those who work right downtown, this was our only option until Brew opened. Word spread in my building like wildfire and we are embracing this eclectic little place like the saving grace of coffee that it is. There is indoor and outdoor seating, breakfast and lunch food options, and a great variety of coffees and teas with multiple preparation methods. Everything I have tried so far has been fresh and tasty. One of the week days we were in, a summer camp group of 4-5 year olds were in just bubbling with excitement and asking the staff a million questions. I noted there were several customers with 'looks' on their faces - so I think it's fair that you be warned this is not a snooty 'I'm here to work quietly while I consume 15X's my recommended daily caffeine intake' sort of place at all times. I think it's nice that they entertain a variety of customer types and with a town center sorely lacking in activities it's a pleasant surprise. I'm not saying it's never going to be your Java and free wifi work oasis - but maybe it's alright to share the space? Definitely check this one out. read more

What a little gem! As with all things in downtown, I hope this lasts. Located on the heart of the City's revitalization of downtown, by targeting college students, this is a great, laid back atmosphere. Modern decor, big windows with views of the common and City Hall. All the plugs have USB chargers. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Nothing but good things to say about the two guys who took our order. My sister really liked the Turkey BLT, while I just had a scone and coffee. The coffee was really good. Great space to get some work done too.
