I stopped here in the morning looking for a good spot to get some work done, and this place definitely delivered! The atmosphere is quiet but also bright and enlivening, aiding in productivity without being overly distracting. I love the setup of the cafe with comfy couches and chairs for lounging sprinkled among typical tables and benches for working or having a meal! Also, they have a free chess board for playing with friends over coffee which really speaks to the relaxed communal vibe of the place. Overall, I loved the energy, but I didn't expect to also love the matcha as much as I did. Being that it's not something they're known for and the drink was on the cheaper side compared to other matchas, it was actually incredibly smooth and creamy (just pretty sweet so be prepared). Only other negative I could mention is that service wasn't overly friendly, but otherwise, it wasn't terrible either- it was quick and helpful, so I definitely enjoyed my stop here and look forward to returning to try their other menu items! read more

Stopped into this cute little coffee shop in Clinton and was instantly charmed. The decor is cozy and inviting, with plenty of comfy tables for getting work done or relaxing with a good book. I tried their Bee Sting latte--while I wish it had a stronger honey flavor to match the name, it was still enjoyable. What really stole the show, though, was the raspberry cheesecake--rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Absolutely delicious. The baristas were super friendly and helpful, especially when it came to picking something off the menu. Whether you're in for a quick pick-me-up or a slow afternoon, this place is worth a stop. read more

This place is a vibe. Wish it was a bit closer to me. Great place to chill and grab a cup of joe. During my visit, there was great artwork on the windows that really sets the tone. It's ok. What is most liked is that there is coffee in downtown Clinton that isn't cheap diner coffee or Dunkin. The coffee is mid but I feel better giving my money to an independent shop. Service is fast and bland. Ambience is ok. Seems like an ok place to have some coffee and be left alone. Price is a little higher than the Dunkin junk but the quality is better. Just not sure if the quality scales with the price. read more

Been here a couple of times, food and coffee have been great. It's a nice shop with a nice lounge feel. Most recent trip, they didn't have any coffee pricing up, which is a bit weird, I'd prefer to know what I'm spending. Order came out quick and staff were nice. They do have a bit of a fly problem. May want to consider traps or a bug light. read more

Cozy, coffee shop, located in downtown Clinton. The café has floor to ceiling windows that bring in plenty of natural light. There are many indoor plants throughout the space that put together a warm, inviting atmosphere to spend some time in visiting with friends, or getting some work done. there's plenty of tables to sit at with accessible outlets and even a few nice leather couches. Don't go on Friday mornings if you are looking for a relaxing experience. There is a group of very loud locals who don't appear to even buy anything just sit and talk so loudly you can't enjoy your experience. We have come to do a bit of work and they make it impossible. The management should really do something as I would expect we aren't the only ones driven away by this. That said the jalapeño sriracha bagel is delicious and the coffee is hot and good read more

I grew up in clinton but left about 15 years ago. Now that I'm back visiting friends and family, they all said I have to check out Coffeelands on high street. From the second I walked in I was in love with the vibe. It has that quiet coffee house vibe you want, someone was playing the piano by the register, and there weren't many people inside. I ordered a capuchino and the smoked salmon bagel. Both were so good! I love that they are conscious of the environment and serve sustainable items as well. The salmon was delicious with just the right amount of cream cheese and red onions to balance. If I lived here, I would be here all the time! Love it and it's a must go! read more

I came with here with a friend after visiting the Museum of Russian Icons. This place is adorable! It has cute decor and a cozy feel. Board games and a piano are available for those interested. I had a soy London Fog and a bagel sandwich with peanut butter and strawberries, both of which were delicious. My non-vegan friend enjoyed her lunch here as well. I wish this place had been around when I was a student at AUC!! I would've hung out here all the time Coffee is Great, atmosphere as well, and the people are so friendly. Best of all, they do "pending coffee" - an awesome idea for sharing a warm cup with those less fortunate. I live in CA now, but every time I come home to visit I make it a point to stop here :) I do have to take away a star because I got here this morning after staying with my grandma at the hospital, hoping to get a hearty oatmeal. What I got for $5.89 was a packet of quick cooking oats with some sliced strawberries and coconut flakes. Very disappointing. Coffee is great as always, and the people are so great too... but don't order the oatmeal. It's better to make it yourself at home. This type of oatmeal and portion will only keep you full for about an hour :( Hope they consider using making rolled oats and serving those in the future instead! read more

Amazing. Amazing everything!! I don't really care for Coffee (I know weird) the amazing owner (Rhonda) didn't like that so she made me a free small "crem brûlée" and holy smokes that was phenomenal! I drank the entire thing and got sh*t done! Their bagel sandwiches are what I usually go in for. They are to dieeeeee for! The lox is my favorite but they are all so good. Such great atmosphere as well!! read more

The best Matcha tea latte! I get it with coconut milk and a shot of espresso. Dean's Beans creates a full-bodied flavorful coffee which my husband drinks black because it's so good. Add a bagel with avocado, cream cheese and pistachios or a homemade muffin for a delicious breakfast! read more

Came here on a rainy Sunday to grab a quick coffee. Don't let the construction on the street turn you away! This place is a hidden gem. I noticed all of the greenery and plants as soon as I walked in and it set a nice vibe. The staff is wicked friendly, and we got our order super quick. We got two iced lattes, one with creme brûlée- super good. Also a peanut butter banana bagel which my girlfriend inhaled, it was THAT good. We already plan on coming back. I always enjoyed getting drinks and breakfast there but recently encountered awful customer service. I had a giftcard from a student from a few years ago that has an NA for expiration. When I tried to use it they told me I can't. So I contacted them and asked what I could do and possibly get a giftcard as an exchange. They said I could only use all $25 at once and to me that's unfair. So when I explained that it's unfair and they lost a customer their reply was "ok". I'm shocked that's the best they can do for $25. Sadly I will never go there again! Disgusted read more

Our mission is to empower marginalized farmers and artisans connecting them to the international market. Peruse our wide variety of fairly traded retail items handmade by members of vulnerable populations throughout the world and support a great cause at the same time!

History

Established in 2011.

Coffeelands is a project of the Polus Center for Social and Economic Development, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Polus Center advocates for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups throughout the world. Everything sold in the store is fairly traded and directly benefits survivors of conflict-related violence, and provides an opportunity for meaningful employment for many vulnerable populations.
