There's nothing better than being with a gym so long you get to experience all the growth that…read morecomes with it! Nikki & Nick have really built something special in Scottsdale. I haven't been at Bodi since the beginning but I have been a member for over 5 years and I definitely love that place! There are multiple options of classes that incorporate strength and cardio, yoga, heated mat Pilates and boxing (now Hyrox based class and straight lifting classes). They have expanded to 3 studios to offer all those classes, which is amazing! There's always a variety of exercises to hit the main muscles groups and the accessory muscle groups. The recovery room is super convenient to use after a class or on a rest day. Variety of class times to meet a large range of schedules. They truly value their members and community and are constantly finding ways to benefit the members even more. It can always be a little intimidating trying a new gym or class but I think they do a great job at trying to make everyone feel welcome & it's generally easy to follow along if feeling lost during a workout. The coaches bring so much energy & fun to the classes as well. Bodi is very affordable in comparison to other gyms (especially if you catch one of their sales around holidays). Class pass is another great way to experience some bodi classes. Definitely worth it to try at least once!!

I've only taken three strength training classes so far, but they've all been great. The workouts…read moreare effective, creative, and genuinely fun. I also love the layout of the gym it's clean, well spaced out, and the equipment is great. My only con so far is that, in my experience, the trainers haven't been very engaged with the class or offered much guidance on form. One of the things I love most about group fitness is when instructors hype up the room & shouting out members, offering motivation, or demoing the moves alongside the class instead of just in the beginning and I haven't really seen that yet. That said, the staff are all super friendly, the gym offers so much more than just strength training (which I'm excited to explore), and the playlists are a solid 10/10. If you're in Scottsdale or just want to try a new gym I highly recommend this one!

I finally got to take queen Kristina's class and she's so good about making sure to break down choreography slowly at first to help you pick it up. As she would say, practice makes perfect. Don't be discouraged if you don't get all the armography with the quick footwork on your first try. I've been cycling for years and even then I felt like I was constantly botching the choreography in this class, but I was grateful for the challenge. Nice and clean facilitates with water stations, lockers and towels.

I don't cycle but this is a review of their hot pilates. I cannot even begin to say what Cassidy…read moredid for me the day I walked into this studio and this class. At first I was incredibly intimated looking at all the very fit people in attendance and I was worried. But Cassidy is very intentional with the way she lays out her class and takes time to cue your breathing and core engagement. Her instructions completely changed the way I was able to connect with the workout. I wanted to cry after class because I could actually keep up! I could have closed my eyes and followed the instructor's directions, she was that specific. Her experience as a PT and presence alone is very transformative. Also she offers modifications. 100/10 would take her class again.

I love that I can use OTF in many locations and the gym layout is generally the same and workouts are going to be challenging and effective. My opinion on places like Orangetheory or other group fitness places is that for someone *new* to working out, it's sometimes useful to start in a less intense workout environment. Not everyone thinks that, but I've observed myself over the years and anytime I do group fitness classes I tend to push myself much harder than I would working out alone (which is a great benefit). There's a lot of high energy going around in a group setting, however without a solid foundation of safe body mechanics and knowing one's own body, it can be possible to go too fast, push beyond what is reasonable, and get hurt. OTF is great for people building up their fitness levels and have a habit of exercising in some capacity. All levels are welcome but just know the workouts are fast paced and intense most of the time. I had stopped going to group weight training classes for a period of time, then started working 1:1 with a trainer, and when I returned to OTF I could tell the difference in how I prioritized doing the moves correctly and with good form, versus just going fast, using momentum, or trying to keep up with others. That's just my 2 cents. Overall, I keep going to OTF because it's one of many things that helps keeps my body moving and that's a good thing for my functional capacity as I continue to age. And it helps maintain my overall health & fitness as I continue to work my way through my long Yelp list of places to eat ;)

I even had spoke to somebody on the phone in addition to filling out the cancellation form. Fast forward to today, I'm looking through my bank statement and see I was charged again on 6/4. I re-download the OTF app and there's a whole class pack in my account. Sure enough, they had left me on as if I was still attending. I texted to speak with somebody. Never was given grace about the issue. Never spoken to with kindness. I was just told they never got a confirmation of the form. They kept asking me about the confirmation email I was sent and I told them I never got one. I even filled out another cancellation form, and still wasn't sent an email. Just crazy to have been charged, and haven't been going and then to be spoken to like that. Arcadia studio has better energy and customer service than this place.
