This is our go to for our girls trips to Texarkana. We love to order any of the rolls. This time I ordered the Fujii Special roll that had lots of spicy bites and my sister ordered the Pink Lady Roll that has some kick as well. We enjoy the consistency of this restaurant. The miso soup and side salad with the ginger dressing are ALWAYS nice! My mother is not much on sushi items so she chose the teriyaki chicken with fried rice and it was great too! I had the bulgolgi burger and it was fantastic! Marinated burger patty was the right combo of salty and sweet, the grilled onions and mushrooms really complemented it. The 4 stars I have given is a little confusing but I will explain. First, if you're looking for the best sushi in Texarkana, hands down it's here. Whenever I am wanting sushi, it's not even a question of where I want to go. However, I have eaten at many sushi places all over North America. I've had sushi so fresh that you see the fish coming off the boat right next to the restaurant, to eating sushi that is at least a day and a half drive from any ocean. So, it is hard for me to not compare Fuji's to all the other places. For sushi only and comparing the quality and taste to all the other restaurants I've ever been to, I'd give them 3 stars. But only comparing them to the Texarkana area, I'd give them 5 stars, so that is why I went with 4 stars. Another dish besides sushi that I love here is their bibimbap. It is one of the best bibimbap's I have ever had (pictured below). The staff is always very friendly and eager to accommodate your needs the best they can. The only other thing I'd add, is that they have been open for quite a while and with that, I'd say it's time for some renovations. Some parts of the restaurant could use some fixing or updating. Great service and really good food. We had teriyaki beef which was only okay. The fried rice, miso soup, dinner salads were all excellent and come with the meal. Every meal comes with a soup and salad which is really nice. We also had gyoza, the Texarkana roll, princess special roll and a Philly roll which were all fantastic. If you are looking for sushi, sashimi or cooked meals, you will be glad you came here. Portions are great, the service is exceptional and the prices are very reasonable for the plate portions. For a small town they have excellent sushi offerings. I personally enjoy their beef short ribs which are always tender. Sometimes they are spicier then other times, I assume it fluctuates but who is in the kitchen. They have a great salad dressing, but soup and salad are only included if you eat in. read more

I wish I would have heeded the previous reviews, however in town for work and really, really wanted some sushi. Allow me to note the positives. The location clean, service was swift and top notch, and food was fresh. However What bothered me was the portions, and looking at prior reviewers, I am not the only one. I ordered 3 rolls, quite hungry, Crazy Roll ($13.50), Fuji Special Roll ($13.50)and Yam Yam roll($6.95) . The rolls were all roughly the size of a regular California roll. The yam yam roll even smaller than that. All the rolls were overloaded with rice, very very small amounts of fillers, several pieces didn't even have all ingredients or none at all. There is zero value here, and honestly, left sorta hungry. Also, the rolls didn't have any identity. Crazy roll and Fuji special could have been identical. Saturated in same sauce and spicy tuna, completely took over the rolls. Yam Yam roll had a tiny sliver of scallop and a dallop of "yam yam sauce" on top, which honestly just tasted like Kewpie (Japanese mayo) I don't want to sound entirely negative, there is merit here. It's just not acceptable to have such small portions, size of rolls and portions of ingredients they contain. There is no balance between the two. This wouldn't be the first place I have experienced such a disparity, but this is definitely one of the worst offenders. I love sushi, and this is the best one in Texarkana. They make their own sauces, ginger and house dressing. I always buy a bottle of their yum yum to go. I'm a creature of habit, so I always get a special Philadelphia and the Rainbow roll. I have tried other rolls, but these are my absolute favorites. I like to snack on the ginger and get extra. Service is always fast and friendly. The staff who are familiar with my love of their ginger are great about bringing me some to snack on like an appetizer. The place is always neat and clean. Went in today without high expectations for Texarkana Japanese food. Had the Tonkatsu bento. In no way was the pork Japanese tonkatsu. It wasn't a pork cutlet...it was paper thin and fried too long. The crust was double the thickness of the meat (see photos). Also had the spicy tuna roll which just okay. Maybe this was because it was lunch time and the real chef or cooks weren't on site.
