Came in for birthday dinner with my fam who came in from Dallas. I didn't even realize this place was where it is. It's kinda easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Not sure why cause the name is right there on the building. It's just down from my favorite nail salon. Great experience all the way! Had a reservation and was seated promptly. Server (wish I could remember her name!) was precious. Super friendly and attentive but not over the top. Food was so good all around! I ordered the chicken gnocchi (first time ever trying gnocchi). Was delicious! I'm now going to likely order gnocchi the next time I see it on a menu. Had the Stage Coach. Was yummy! I was surprised that I liked the hint of sage. Worked really well. Ordered a second one though, and the sage was a bit too strong. But the old fashioned was good. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. And then they gave me a free dessert for my birthday. I got the crème brûlée. I love crème brûlée and don't get it very often and this one did not disappoint! We will definitely come back. The owner? Manager? Came by the table and said hello to us. Bartenders are great. I travel roughly 150 nights a year for work, and I happened to find this spot through a random Google search -- what a lucky find. The bartenders, John Luke and Anthony, have been by far the best I've ever encountered. Their communication, coordination, and attentiveness were top-tier. Watching the way they worked seamlessly together to serve not just the bar guests but also those at the nearby high tops -- which I assume are part of their area -- was impressive. I've seen my fair share of bartenders, but these two genuinely raised the bar. Their professionalism, energy, and hospitality stood out in a big way. Whenever I'm back in Texarkana, Benchmark will absolutely be a go-to. I'll also be recommending it to any friends or clients visiting the area -- all because of the outstanding experience John Luke and Anthony provided. Benchmark has been around for a while now. I cannot say enough about this place. Still inviting, still great food. They have amazing seasonal specials (beef stroganoff in the cooler months- to die for). Their cocktails are really good. The staff is awesome. The owners come around every-single-time to check on each table. The bar manager is very passionate about the experience provided to patrons in the lounge area. We had our rehearsal dinner here in the "back room" space. We felt like we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. They provided us with a really great experience that was private and made us feel taken care of very well. We love this place. read more

Service was a delight. Ambiance was cozy. The scallops and grits were 'off the hook'. The wife ordered the rib-eye and while the flavor was good, I don't feel that it was worth the $40+ price. It was thin and had a lot of connective tissues. It must be an East Texas thing... every steak I've tried to enjoy anywhere out here reminded me of something you'd get from Denny's. One of my favorite places to go to here in Texarkana! This is my wife and I's favorite date night spot. When you walk in, the decor and staff makes you feel like you are stepping into a high class, fine dinning establishment but they welcome any and everyone. For appetizers, my favorite is the lobster dip, it is very good! For an entree, there is so many options and to be honest, you can't go wrong. The steaks are unbelievable, burgers big and satisfying, but the specials is where it's usually at. My favorite special is the duck ramen, but it's a popular item, so be sure to get in while they have it! They have the best whisky and spirit selection in town. This place is too good to be in Texarkana. Don't be fooled by is low key location. Once you walk inside it looks, feels and operates like a high end steakhouse. We came from out of town and I ate here 3 nights in a row with a whole group of people. Kailyn is the best server I've had anywhere in a long time. She is sweet, hospitable and has a great sense of humor. We already told management this, but she def needs a raise or promotion and the right to have first cut whenever she wants. I had the Becky Bang Shrimp, Plateu De Fromage (cheese and cracker plate), bone marrow and the Cowboy Filet and Blondie desert. I really hate to say the shrimp was my favorite because I don't really like seafood but the flavor was so good. The filet was amazing and you really don't even need a steak knife to cut it because it's so tender. We ordered probably 10 steaks over the course of 3 days and they were all cooked as ordered. When i was younger i worked in fine dining and dont give positive reviews often, because I have higher expectations than most but this place deserves more recognition and I will be back. First time in Texarkana and wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner. Thanks to Yelp I decided to drive a little further and try Benchmark. First impression walking in was that this place has a classy vibe but I immediately found it to be welcoming too (as opposed to some places that are a bit too snooty for my taste). I sat at the bar and the wonderful Sydney took care of me. She was very attentive and great at anticipating what I needed next without even being asked! Started off with a great cocktail while I looked at the menu... man I wish I was a cow and had 4 stomachs. Everything on this menu sounded good! I decided to splurge and go with the shrimp and lobster dip and that didn't disappoint. Good amounts of both shrimp and lobster and the flavor of the dip was delicious. Ordered a ribeye and asparagus as well and both had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. I must also mention that all the food came out rather quickly! Splurging some more, I ordered the Rocky Road Dream cocktail for dessert. I am big on chocolate, so I loved this drink. It was creamy, chocolatey and oh so good. This probably could've been a 5 star review, but my cut of steak wasn't the best (they can't all be, right), but it was still cooked to perfection. Thank you to all the staff. Way overpriced for the setting and the food. We had chicken with bacon mac and I had the redfish. The redfish was platted horribly and still in parchment paper when it was placed on our table. It was almost flavorless, only tasting the peppers it was bedded atop. The chicken was comparable to Applebees. The Mac was delicious. Music choices were less than favorable. Inner decor of restaurant was lacking for the expectation and prices of meal. Our waiter was attentive but way too chatty, trying to make jokes, high fiving, fist bumping, etc. Overall it was like they were trying to hard and yet serving less than great food. To be fair, and before I gave this place a review, I dined here it twice. The service is mediocre at best, both times. The first time, we ordered cocktails and waited 15 minutes before they arrived. The second time we dined here, we ordered cocktails right after being seated and then ordered our main dish a few minutes later. We then received our main course and finished it before receiving our original cocktail order. It was very disappointing. We ordered the French dip the first time around, and we would give it 4.5 stars; warm, fresh, and delicious. The beef was tender and well seasoned. The french bread was warm, soft, and fresh. We ordered the Kabayaki Tuna dish the second time. We give it 2.5 stars. The risotto was a complete fail; rice casserole consistency. The tuna steak was overcooked on the outside and ice cold on the inside. The ponsu sriracha sauce with baby portobello mushrooms was decent. read more

My hubby and I sat at the bar. We split fish and chips and a Caesar salad. Both were delicious! Good wine and liquor selections too! The two working behind the bar were very nice and attentive! Visiting from out of state and had dinner here. The atmosphere was nice, but the overall experience was a bit off. The waiter, while cordial, rushed us the entire time. An example is that we were clearly still eating when he picked up one of the side dishes and removed it without a word. There were a couple of spoonfuls left. I don't know that we wanted more of it, but I would have appreciated being asked rather than him assuming. We got two appetizers and they were good. Everyone ordered ribeyes. The flavor was good. I understand that ribeyes are a fattier cut of meat, but I felt that there was an excessive amount, especially for the price point. I ordered Baked Canada for dessert. The meringue was exquisite. However, the chocolate cake was so dry that I thought that I had misunderstood the menu and that it was really a brownie. A quick check of the menu made it clear that it was simply very dried out cake. Elements of this place were nice, but the downsides were enough that I would check out another restaurant in the future. read more
