Tried a new to me place. Had a Hawaiian grilled shrimp taco in a corn tortilla, a Blackened Mahi-Mahi taco in a corn tortilla and the Mexican cream corn. To me honestly the best part was the side dish of Mexican cream corn. So tasty and served hot which I love when places serve the food hot. The Hawaiian grilled shrimp taco was ok, not quite cook d to the crispy bark you expect on shrimp when grilled but as ok. Not great. read more

It's like they're trying to be street tacos but the pineapple tastes like it was from a dole fruit cup and the tortillas are the preservative-filled packaged ones you can buy at walmart... not real tortillas. Was in town to meet with GF's niece and her family. OH MY is this place wonderful! This is really good TexMex! Perfect for a tender mouth Texan! Nothing was too hot and the flavors were addictive! These are not skinny tacos where you need a dozen to satisfy a person. These are fat, stuffed full tacos! I also had a Cobb salad which was REALLY good! So my coworker and I are in the area for business and only know of a couple places we like to eat at and have tried before with no issues. When we asked one of the semi-local coworkers for any new food recommendations, immediately his response was Tacos 4 Life. He said you have to go try it. It's GOOD AND you have to ask for Mary. Fast forward after a long day at work, my coworker and I finally get back into the area and we pull up at 8:30 pm. They close at 9 pm. We were pretty depressed thinking they were closing soon and attempted to go through the drive thru as last resort. On the drive thru speaker, we hear a chipper voice and lo and behold it is Mary! Even though it was nearing closing time, she happily told us to come on in and eat inside. The booths and tables were clean and the ambiance was nice. It would be a great place to go as a family, with friends, or even by yourself. Theres even a outside patio area with a couple giant games that both adults and kids could enjoy. (It was too cold/windy for us and we were tired lol) At the counter, we met the famous Mary. Imagine the fun aunt or even cool grandma (sorry! Not trying to call her old!!) and bam that's how great her personality and customer service was. One of her coworkers was drinking this pink drink and we were curious about it because it looked like she was really enjoying it. You HAVE to get the drink: it's a combo of watermelon and strawberry. It was refreshing to drink after a long day of work. In fact, we went get a second round of it before we left. Even better, it's non-alcoholic so the kids and teens can enjoy it too. The food came out pretty quickly. Between my coworker and I, we ordered the Korean bbq taco, mango habanero taco (not me, I can't do spicy like that), fried chicken taco, and the blackened mahi-mahi taco. I thought it was a pretty decent sized taco and enjoyed my side of Mexican street corn to go with it. I thought the proteins in my tacos were pretty juicy. My coworker had the mango habanero first . I must have dozed off for a little bit because when I looked back up, half her taco was already gone. Although I didn't order that one in particular, it thought the ones I chose were pretty tasty as well. The workers were really nice and didn't give us hints or the stink eye for coming in before closing. We really appreciated that. We were tired, hungry, and pretty loopy from working all day and being on the road. The food was great and they actually have good causes they help out with. Their goal is to end world hunger one taco at a time. For every taco sold, a taco is given to that goal. Also, near the check out line is an area for their brand of souvenirs and coffee bags that are prepped by a local charity to raise funds. Overall, even though it was my first time here, it was a great experience. The interior of the restaurant inside was clean and tables are spread out enough so it doesn't seem like it would be way too crowded during lunch rush. If you want some fresh air to enjoy your tacos, enjoy the nice polished picnic tables outside to eat on. The workers, especially Mary!!!, were really nice. Food was delicious and definitely don't forget to get that watermelon strawberry drink! read more

Came across this place while driving through and I'm so glad we did! I was happy to see they have a vegan option. Tofu tacos might sound a bit odd, but the tofu is seared and it gave it really great flavor! The tacos were delicious, as was the cilantro pesto rice. My partner had the steak tacos and he loved them too. We also got the strawberry watermelon punch and it was so good! It was a couple days after Valentine's Day and they were giving everyone free heart-shaped sopapillas, also delicious! The service was great and it has a really cute interior. And apparently a portion of the money they make goes to helping starving children. We enjoyed this place so much that we made a stop on the way back too! read more

I love the pico that they have, probably because it's full of jalapeños. Usually I don't like pico, but I love theirs. The staff is friendly an you can be in and out quickly. Definitely think meals should come with more tacos or less price. I spent $12 on one taco, a small amount of chips with queso, and a fountain drink. The owner was standing there and recommended I try the Korean BBQ taco. This is one I have never tried! It's an excellent choice! The fried wonton wrapper strips put it over the top! I had both vegan options. (Vegan choices, what?!!) One with tofu. The other had eggplant. Flavorful large portions. The side of cilantro rice was divine. My daughter had the kids' quesadilla. She seemed pleased. My only slight negative - they need to bus the tables more quickly. Maybe they are short staffed. I'd seen this chain restaurant several times during a recent road trip and the timing was good to stop in Texarcana. The moment you walk you know it is going to be good. Bright, festive Mexican colors throughout the dining area, give a sense of warmth. The cashier was really nice and patient as I navigated the menu for the first time. The tacos were delivered shortly after ordering and I was surprised to find it served with what I would call a torta -- fresh and tasty. The chicken and pork tasted great. I was really excited to see this place next to my hotel while out of town. I lived in Conway At for many years, home of the original Tacos For Life, which is GRAND! Well, this place is meh not even close to good! I love that when you buy here you are helping out less fortunate children get meals that are much needed. For every taco or entree that you buy 24 cents are given to the poor! Great Cause! But....the food was not up to par for the price I paid! Firstly, if you order a tofu taco it's $4.69 but if you turn a regular taco into a tofu taco it's a $1.50 extra charge! Why? Crazy! There is no way tofu is more expensive than beef, shrimp or chicken! The food tasted microwaved instead of hot and ready to eat! It was a subpar meal for $40 for 4 tacos and a salad with no drinks! I probably won't eat here again! There are too many places in town where I can get GOOD tacos for much much cheaper and fresher! read more

I stopped here on my way out of Dallas to Arkansas for a road trip; it's a convenient option since it's right off the highway, and there's a drive-thru. I pre-ordered, though I'm not sure how much time that saved, cause it took a *looooong* time for the car in front of us to get their order. There's an outdoor patio, which is where we sat (I don't believe they're following masking or other Covid protocols as of Fall 2021). There aren't many vegetarian or vegan friendly fast-food options, which is why I appreciate Tacos 4 Life: we tried tofu tacos (good) and eggplant tacos (great, though not at all Tex-Mex flavor; more of an Italian style taco.) Looks like they donate some of their profits to charities aimed at feeding hungry folks, which is a nice bonus. I'd eat here again next time I'm heading on a road trip out of Texas! read more

The cabbage was absolutely huge slices, the meat had so much sauce that the tacos literally fell apart before I could take more than two bites. Rice had a huge spoonful of cilantro paste plopped on top of the rice and the lime wedge. Having to fish the lime wedge out of the paste was really messy.
