We ordered in house for to go, service was friendly and quick. Restaurant itself had plenty of seating, was clean, and inviting. We were pleased with the combo options offered on the menu. Our order consisted of 2x chicken teriyaki 1x combo 1 1x combo 4 2x eggrolls After tip -$70 All of the food was great! The salad dressing was flavorful and we all enjoyed it. The hit of it all was the eggrolls!! I wish I would've ordered more than 2 orders (4 rolls total) they were DELICIOUS! We will be back next time we are in Olympia! read more

I have never been to this location but I know they're located in downtown Olympia. I've ordered from here several times now via UberEats (according to the app, I am the top 5% most frequently ordered customer for this specific restaurant lol) since the pandemic. First thing I can say about this restaurant is that their food is consistent. They're packed cleanly and food is fresh, good quality, and tasty. Second thing great is their price. They kept their price reasonable when all other similar Teriyaki places increased their menu prices significantly on UberEATs/Doordash due to the service charge that was increased by those food delivery app companies. One day I will visit the restaurant and let the owners know I enjoyed their food in the past two years when I'm hangry for lunch!!! read more

Great food! And very cheap. I had the udon, and my boyfriend had the noodles and sushi. Both were huge portions and absolutely delicious. The service however was so bad that I don't think I'll be coming back unless I'm getting something to go. The waitress was cold and unresponsive. She seemed upset that we were even in the restaurant. The ambiance was also lacking. It was dirty and stuffy with cobwebs in the corners. Despite its down sides, the food was completely worth it! Lesson learned. Next time (there will definitely be a next time) we'll get one entree TO GO so we can spend the least amount of time inside the restaurant as possible. read more

How this place does not know how to cook rice properly is mind boggling. It's so mushy that you can't discern the individual grains, the scoops are just mounds of rice mush. Salad is iceberg with a two slivers of carrot and a watered down dressing that is void of flavor. Carrots in the tempura were surprisingly bitter. Great food, I mostly have had the teriyaki. It's always good for lunch and it's super affordable so I would definitely recommend for a quick bite to eat or a quick lunch! Fuji on Plum is how my mate and I think of it, and it is bang on for sushi. If you need your hand held with sunshine and rainbows beaming from a cute young sassy server's eyes, then this is not the spot for you, because it's true that that the older lady who is the owner and server does not offer a warm greeting. However, some of that is undoubtedly due to the language barrier as her English is minimal, and some of it is likely a cultural difference and she feels it's not her place to flirt with your wallet nor stroke your ego -- who can really know for sure? I've always been very polite to her and she has always warmed up to me a bit during the visit, but she doesn't ever talk to you much since she doesn't know very much English. But like Dave Gahan crooned so many years ago, "words, like violence, break the silence, and come crashing in, into our little world", and I don't need that when I'm trying to spin my sushi game. I'd come back to this place even if she said I was ugly and my momma dressed me funny because the food is that good (and because, in fairness, my momma does dress me funny). Their 'Deluxe Sushi' plate is the best sushi deal I've ever found, and it's delicious. I have to spend three times as much in Portland or Seattle to match what I get here, and frankly, many of the servers in those places can be every bit as dismissive and they MEAN it. Now that I think of it, the lady here might well be an uber-hipster. I wonder if she digs on Depeche Mode? Anyway, I've been to "Fuji on Plum" about ten times over the past couple of years and have never had to wait more than 2 minutes to be seated, nor more than 5 or 10 minutes to have an order taken, and within 15 minutes after that (usually less) we have our food. I won't argue with anyone who says they waited an hour before they had their food in front of them. Perhaps we've just been very lucky ten times in a row. Or perhaps karma isn't a friend to those other folks. Again, who can really know for sure? The water they serve is cool but not very cold and does not contain ice, which is better for your digestion anyway (I wore professor glasses while typing that bit, so you know it's scientifical.) Someone complained that they don't know how to cook rice which made my eyes roll pretty far back in my head but I'm ok now. Their sushi rice has been VERY well prepared every time I've been there, so I question whether some reviewers understand that when you order sushi, it isn't made with jasmine and it's not basmati. Learn your grains, guys and gals! All that said, I will admit that I've never had anything else on their menu besides sushi, so maybe these folks aren't so great at that. Don't know, and don't care. The deluxe sushi, avocado roll, the occasional spider roll and such -- they've all been great. Perhaps those folks who gave low marks for the food went on an off day or just had a rare bad plate, but when push comes to shove I'm going to give Fuji the benefit of the doubt because they've never let me down. Either way, this is my end-all, be-all, go-to place for sushi, and I think it should be yours, too. read more

I love this neighborhood joint and am astounded by all the detractors with their bad reviews! Both their sushi and entrees are fresh and perfectly delicious but if you're expecting Nobu you're in the wrong town kiddos. As for the service, it's a mom and pop shop-the only 2 employees are the proprietors, they're absolutely delightful folks and damn good at their jobs but if you're looking for a professional server to fawn over you might I suggest the nearest TGIMcApplebees? Their prices are very reasonable, I love that they offer brown rice and the drive-through pick-up window around the back has been a lifesaver during the eleventythousand months we've been staying home, staying safe. All together I think the food was decently priced for the calicoes, my only reason for the lacking star was portion. Once is enough for me! Seems to be the type of "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant where no one is motivated in trying to ensure quality food or customer service anymore. Grimy interior looks as if it has been in need of a deep clean for years. I can vouch for comments from several other negative reviews for this place -- very cold (unfriendly, rude) service from the older woman, horrible rice (either not cooked properly, cooked long ago, or very low quality), and fatty chicken thighs for the teriyaki. The lunch "special" barely filled me up and overall was probably the most unpleasant experience I've had in a Japanese restaurant. Yes, the prices are quite reasonable, but I'd rather get fast food and at least know I'll have a more positive experience. read more

I stopped by here to get some items to go. The lady working was very cold and indifferent. I don't need my hiney kissed but basic niceties are always welcome as a paying customer i.e. thank you or really any pleasantries work for me. She took my order, rang it up, slid the bill over and after I paid she said "sit down and wait there" and pointed to a chair. I waited and when food was ready she slid it across the counter. I asked if there was a fork as well as chop sticks (as my 4 year old was sharing with me) and she looked insulted and pointed to the bag. No smile, no nothing. Let's see how can I start. I just moved back to WA for work form California. Land of the sushi Kings. Cali LOVES sushi what can I say. In WA not so much it seems. There are few sushi spots around in Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater. The 'best' spots are in Seattle. BUT for this area I have pretty much tried them all...Koibito, Sushi Go Round (which is a rip off save ur money) and I have tried others. Fujii Teriyaki doesn't seem to be well known but It's by far the best sushi spot in this area in comparison to a California sushi spot as I will get in this area :) The selection is good, the portion size is good/decent. The food is good. What impressed me is that they did not have Unagi Donburi on the menu (which is on ever single suhi menu in California) but when I asked about it but they made it for me. The portion size of the unagi was good but it wasn't enough rice. I will say it was delicious! (just wish it was a little more rice with it.) I had the dragon roll and it was really good too. Of all the places I have gone too around Thurston county this one is by far the best to me and I am a sushi connoisseur it's one of my fave foods. While it will never compare to the Naked Fish in Cali (One of my fave spots) It's as close as I will get. SO if you love sushi as much as I do and want a good selection and good prices this IS the hidden gem to go to! read more

This is probably the chilliest daytime eating experience ever. My meal was light, but satisfying. There is light music playing and Plum Street is bustling. The lady at the front counter is really sweet, and made sure everything was to my liking. I ordered a Salmon Teriyaki combo with Philadelphia roll for $13! The roll and the salmon were amazing, the sauce was just the right combination of salty and sweet, and the rice is perfectly cooked. I do wish the miso had tofu though! I feel like the only time I come onto Yelp is to give a bad review. However, with the cost of going out to eat so high, I feel like I need to let others know. I also don't leave a review until I've experienced bad service and/or food at least twice. Everyone has a bad day. I use to really like this restaurant. The last 6 months they have gone downhill. The customer service is gone. They have a younger girl as their waitress and she is just not good at all. We sat down and after a couple of minutes, we actually got up to get our menus from the front counter. She tried to say she didn't see us. Well, there was only one other table occupied.... and she looked over at us twice. It is NOT that big of a place. Then when it was time for our check. We sat there, obviously done as our plates were to the side of the table, chatting for over 10 minutes... waiting for our checks. She sat there watching us. So, we got up to pay at the counter. In the past, and we've been going to this restaurant for several years now, they always brought the check to the table. And, at this point, we were literally the only people in the restaurant @ 1 pm. Food isn't horrible. It isn't fantastic either. It has gone downhill. I feel your money is better spent elsewhere. And it feels like others feel the same about Fuji. Up to recently, there was always a decent lunch crowd... enough where sometimes you had to sit in the overflow area in the back. Lousy. Wanted to try a new teriyaki place, something close to home. Beings it's August and 90+ out, you expect to be greeted by cool air when you walk in. Our goal was teriyaki, but apparently they're all closed on Sundays. Finally ended up here out of desperation. The service is atrocious. We walked in and were met by an older woman who made no acknowledgement of our arrival. I had to ask if we sit down or order at the counter. Then after we sat for 5 minutes and still weren't acknowledged. I had to ask if we should get our own menus. After about 20 minutes she came to take our order. We've been sitting here now about 50 minutes and still haven't received food. WE ARE DYING. Wishing we had left and gone anywhere else. Not impressed. Came here because it was closest to where we were. It was hot and lonely inside on a Friday afternoon. Sushi rolls were not that great. We got a salmon tempura and a spider roll. One of my FAVOURITE PLACES TO EAT! Great, and I mean GREAT food for CHEAP! Unless you order sushi, you'll be hard pressed to find a menu item for more than $10, though even the full 14-piece sushi rolls don't exceed $15! And the portions are really big too, not to mention the food is really delicious. Seriously, I've been to places that are twice as expensive with food that is half as good. The sushi is great and you get really big, long rolls for not very much money. The tempura udon is amazing, I always get that. My friends have gotten teriyaki, and I tried some, and the rice had a great texture to it and the sauce was yummy. I've been here several times, and the ambiance is lovely. It's nice enough to take someone on a date to, but without breaking the bank, but it is also a great place to bring friends. It isn't huge, but it has huge windows, so it feels cozy but not cramped. It is well lit, has glass-topped tables, and a lovely wooden floor. The only downsides are that sometimes it's hard to understand the waitress, and it is sometimes hard for her to understand me. Also, don't order the mochi, it's just about the only thing that I don't think they make in-house, and it's kind of weird and gritty. Anyway. GO HERE. Delicious food for great value. I've paid twice as much for sushi that was wasn't half as good as the sushi here. read more

She looked as if we were intruding in her space and wanted us gone.We asked how her day was, no response, and gave our menus and promptly left. Horrible service. I have never been to a restaurant where in the bathroom, they used toilet paper towels in place of paper towels for your hands. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant, it was uncomfortably quite, with the host just staring at us from behind the counter. I ordered the "spyder" roll, and the seaweed was chewy, the avocado was browning, the roll itself was very poorly done. It wasn't wrapped tight and it was sloppy and not made with fresh ingredients at all! The location was very hard to get in and out as well. I will not be going back here again. read more

Probably the worst food I've had in olympia. Terrible service too. It was so bad I couldn't finish it. I got the Philadelphia roll and spicy tuna roll. And what they did to this poor fish was inexcusable. The salmon in the Philadelphia roll was gray and rubbery. Disgusting. And the spicy tuna roll offended even further. This poor tuna was slathered in a sweet, citrusy spicy glaze that was so gross as to render the whole roll inedible. I couldn't stomach another bite. Above average teriyaki joint. Generally gets pretty busy and parking can be entertaining at times. Service is usually pretty fast even when the place is packed. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. I don't eat a lot of meat and the menu has quite a few vegetarian choices. The fried tofu here is outstanding as is the teriyaki sauce. I have tried the teriyaki chicken but it was just average in my opinion. I'll stick to the tofu. read more

The prices are nothing but fair, in fact it is pretty cheap for a good meal here. The service was friendly, our 3 sushi rolls were totally fresh, and well executed, creative and prepared fast!
