This place was kind of average. When we walked in the owners / cook and counter person we're sitting at one of the tables and had all the lights from the signs off. So we kind of thought that they might be closed. I thought that was kind of weird, like how much on the energy bill are you saving with the lights off over the counter and menu. That being said the food was really good, not go out of my way to go here good, but better than Happy teriyaki or other chain stores like it. Food was fresh cooked too so that was awesome. The gyzoa, and the teriyaki beef were my favorite. Another funny thing after we got our food the old woman at the counter sat in the corner watching tictoc videos of people farting. It was hilarious but also not really what we wanted to hear while we were eating. My wife and I got a good chuckle out of it though. This shopping center doesn't appear to get a lot of visitors, but I decided to go out on a limb and try a new place. I'm happy I did. The restaurant is sparsely decorated with just the right amount of tables. I went in at about 6pm on a Friday and there was no one in the restaurant. So you can say the ambience is lacking. It's just a simple teriyaki diner. I ordered vegetable fried rice and waited a little over 8 minutes to get my meal which I thought was decent. Now the rice itself was very good. There was a decent amount of vegetables in the rice and the rice itself wasn't oily like sometimes the rice tends to be in the Pacific Northwest. It reminded me of Asian restaurants on the east coast and how they make their rice...slightly dry and packed pretty tight of flavor. I was very surprised by how good it was. I will definitely eat here again. I'll probably order ahead since it was dead in there when I went and also there are a lot of vegetarian options with or without tofu. read more

Had no tap water available, you had to "buy" water if you wanted any. Brought plate of food and walked away before I could ask for soy sauce. I had to go up to counter and ask for soy sauce. The food here is great but the service has been less than okay for years. I used to come here often but probably not again. Too many places actually are happy to see a customer. read more

I really love this place. My personal favorite is the egg rolls and sweet and sour sauce. They make it themselves and it doesn't come from that weird neon package. Good portions and I always get what I'm expecting. I kind of wish their house fried rice had more flavor but the veggies are so fresh. I usually ask for chili sauce to add more spice! Oh and the husband/wife work so hard and are appreciative of their customers :) read more

Ordered the chicken teriyaki. It tasted ok but the vegetables that came with it tasted awful. I ordered takeout for me to share with my son. I knew she put a chopstick in the bag but I needed a fork for my son. She yelled at me "I already put it in there." Ive never left a bad review until today. The lady at the front desk was rude. After ordering she asked if i wanted a beverage. I declined and she snickered. I thought maybe i'm just overthinking. Guess i wasn't because when she brought out my food there was no bag just a box. I asked for a bag and she replies you have to pay for a bag. That was a first. I asked for sweet and sour and she replies you have to pay for that too. So I walked out with a hot box of food and a sarcastic grin to wave me goodbye. The whole vibe and attitude was terrible. Kobo Teriyaki is the place to go for some delicious Japanese and Chinese takeout [they offer both] when you're cramming for that final. The service is friendly and you can call in ahead of time for takeout. There are some tables inside as well, and you can dine inside. The only dishes I've had here are tofu teriyaki and tofu yakisoba. Both are delicious, and I have yet to find any restaurant with dishes that match the flavour Kobo offers. read more

This place is a mom and pop shop. I had the Chicken Katsu - that's the only thing I can account for. But accounting for that, it was awesome. Around the area, the Katsu is a little bit more expensive by a couple of bucks but the portions are huge! So that makes sense. I would go here again. read more

Kimchee is homemade by owners, very fresh. Kalbi was amazing! I've had so much Kalbi, this was some of the best. Chicken yaki soba was very good. You can definitely eat good here for about $9-12 a plate, helpings are pretty big. Will absolutely come back. read more

The house fried rice was good once I added some salt, but the Mongolian beef was a smaller portion than I was expecting and was dry despite the amount of sauce on it. Price was lower than most places in the area so I guess you get what you pay for. read more

This has been my family's favorite spot for yaki soba! My dad has been a customer since 2004 and we keep coming back for their delicious noodles! The same lady has been working there and she is the sweetest. The atmosphere is typical for fast food. Not a 'take your date' place. But decent and clean. The staff are friendly. A couple things that could be improved upon: 1) The salad with meals is just chopped up cabbage with a few carrot shavings thrown in. They should add some dressing, more carrot and some lettuce. 2) Not enough teriyaki sauce. You'll probably want to ask for extra. read more

Over the past 2+ years I have frequented this establishment at least two times a month. I enjoy their food, price and the staff. However I am giving them two stars because in the last 3 visits I have found metal wire in my food. I believe it to be from the scrubbing pads but not sure. This kind of carelessness can cause some serious damage to internal organs. I doubt highly that I will ever eat there again. I hope in the future you guys are a little more diligent in your food preparation. read more

My daughter and I grabbed some chicken teriyaki while out in Lacey and stopped in here. We are food critics and all teriyaki is NOT the same. This place was located near a gas station and a subway restaurant. The chicken was fresh as we saw the cook grabbing it from the container and placing it onto the grill. It was cooked to perfection and tasted very good. We opted out for the veggies it came with so they gave us extra rice. The sauce was a little on the thicker side but still tasty.
