Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Ayers and his staff for the care and concern…read more they have for my two girls. Dr. Ayers goes above and beyond what any veterinarian would do to ensure the well being of an animal and genuinely cares about each one as if they were his own. There is only veterinarian I trust to treat my girls, and one that I trust the opinion of and value the opinion of, and that is Dr. Ayers. I live 600 miles away from the Huntington area, but yet still make yearly appointments for my girls to see Dt. Ayers. Even when they see their local vet, I still call Dr. Ayers to get his opinion on issues because I value his opinion and expertise so much. Recently, he saved the life of my girl because of the misdiagnosis of another vet and performed an emergency surgery on a holiday and didn't hesitate to go out of his way to ensure that she had the best care possible recovering. Two weeks later my other one became sick again with an illness that no other vet could diagnose the problem and he instantly had a diagnosis and later confirmed it after performing tests. I believe what sets Dr. Ayers apart from other doctors is that he practices from his heart. He listens to people and really listens to what is going on with their animals. He has excellent communication with his people and is very personable. He's very accessible, always returns calls when you need to talk with him, and just an amazing all around human being. I wish I had Dr. Ayers in every city I live in because we travel so much, but every time I'm in the Huntington area visiting family, my girls will be visiting Dr. Ayers, as well, because he is like family, too!

At 3:27 I called back for an update. Let me bullet my thoughts: + If you are running more than 10 min behind schedule, you should be calling customers as a heads up. Unless you take ppl arriving to appts 20-30 min after their appt. Or are customers' time not valuable to your business? +Tech gets on phone and has the nerve to say it took her so long because she was reviewing my dog's record... you've had them for 3 weeks. Maybe do reviews the night before or morning of ( just a thought) +Lobby is closed (understandably due to COVID), but you should notify your customers of this.

Extended me dogs life 2 time 6 more years . Operations removing cancer the size of 2 adult fist. Admit it was pricey however it was my a life. The only problem I have is the wait time and then always wanting to see your animals. I cannot bring 5 cats in at one time just to get flea prevention. I can order the same thing off of Amazon. I understand they want to see the animals to protect themselves in case something happens in todays silly world. This is just flea medicine. I would give 5 stars if not for that. Bottom line they are the best. They are cutting edge. I recommend them to the highest degree.

Beware! Beware! Beware!…read more Just because they give you a quote for service's doesn't mean that is what you'll be charged. Then they want to hold your pet hostage if you don't have the money to pay UP! They couldn't care less if you take your pet somewhere else because of the bait and switch tactic. They'll be happy to forward the paperwork. Never seen such tactics before.

I had been taking my animals to this place after my vet left for a practice out of the area. Everything had been so-so until one afternoon last month when my dog got into my shopping bag and ate 22 children's Ibuprofen. When I realized how toxic ibuprofen was to dogs I called the office and told them what had happened and I was bringing my dog in. Well, the response was "we don't see animals unless they have an appointment". I responded that my dog needed to be seen to get treatment. I was told to hold and then she came back and said "As I said, we won't see your animal without an appointment. You'll need to take it to the animal ER and they open at 6:30." This was a little after 3:00 in the afternoon and treatment was urgently needed. So, after her I don't give a sh*@ response and my being just a tad stressed I told her what she could do with herself and hung up. I then luckily found another vet that gave my dog the emergency treatment that was needed along with animal poison controls suggestions. With my dogs weight and eating such a large dosage, quick treatment was a must and if I had waited until 6:30 my dog could have died or suffered permanent damage to the liver or kidneys, since charcoal and fluids need to be administered within the first 2 hours (per poison control). That vet should have known that a large ibuprofen ingestion by a dog requires critically timed treatment. If she or her staff really cared about animals they would have recommended a local vet to take my dog to, but they didn't and didn't care. ZERO stars.
