We've been to Ingredients a couple of times now, and after tonight I really felt like I needed to write a review. I've lived in San Francisco for more than 30 years and have eaten all over the city. Ingredients is genuinely one of the best dining experiences I've had in years. The food is phenomenal, but a huge part of what makes this place so special is Jackie and the level of hospitality he brings to the experience. Tonight we basically told him what we were in the mood for and let him guide us. He recommended an incredible off-menu wine and helped us put together exactly the meal we wanted. We wanted something fresh and green to start, but none of the salads on the menu were quite what we had in mind. Rather than just asking us to choose something else, they offered to create something for us. What came out was an incredibly bright, fresh salad with pomegranate, figs and assorted greens. It was fantastic. Then came the momos, which were incredible, followed by the steak special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was beautifully prepared and genuinely delicious. What really sets Ingredients apart, though, is the hospitality. Jackie didn't just take an order. He listened to what we wanted, made thoughtful recommendations, worked with the kitchen and guided the whole experience. Nothing felt forced or performative. It was simply someone who is exceptionally good at hospitality taking care of his guests. Ingredients delivers the kind of quality and experience that makes you feel you're getting more than you paid for. The ingredients, cooking, wine and personal attention are all exceptional. After more than 30 years of eating in San Francisco, I don't say this lightly: Ingredients has given us some of the best food and one of the best overall dining experiences I've had in this city in a very long time. We'll absolutely be back. That's the version I'd put on Yelp. It reads like an enthusiastic regular customer rather than a restaurant critic, which is exactly what you want there.

Yes I am so outdating myself! But it has been an upscale liquor store for a very long time now. Okay, as I was saying, while walking and spoiling my daughter to Kiss of Matcha, then spoiling myself to Richmond Republic Draught House, see other reviews, I saw the sign of a free tasting and you got me. We came back at 5:25pm after "partying" with my daughter and watching FIFA. I did not expect much, but when I got here, a few locals (also from the Republic) hung out, drank/tasted more and bought a few Fraction 4 packs. Fraction Brewery is from our Alameda Island across the bay, my old hang out. Boy do I miss Spirit Alley... And Rockwall. If you know, you know. We/I had such a good time here. I love hanging with the locals. And it brings back so many memories from the old neighborhood. Ambiance - A small local high end liquor store. Clean, organized, and professional. Plenty of street parking, both metered and free residential. But we walked. Service - The person serving us from Fraction was amazing! What a great ambassador for both Fraction and this business. Price - Free + the cost of what you buy. Prices are slightly higher here as expected. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success here since 2013 and with your 4 locations.

Expecting to be sent over to 9th Ave., I was surprised to be told to go to Judah and 6th. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! The shop is quite a mix of things. Think of part cafe, part ice cream shop, and part corner liquor store. It is extremely clean, from the dining tables to the rest room. I was very comfortable sitting down here for a snack and a coffee. The baklava was excellent. Your coffee drinks can be made with espresso or Turkish style. We tried both. We have tried coffee at several other places within a mile of this place. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of this before. I will agree that this is the best coffee in the neighborhood. The guy behind the counter was professional, but he could have at least cracked a smile to welcome some new customers coming into his shop.

I had actually seen this place on Instagram long before I ever came to San Francisco, mostly because of their pre‑bagged drinks. It looked like such a uniquely city thing -- quick grab & go mixes already put together so you don't have to think about it. When I finally made it to the West Coast, stopping here felt like checking off a small bucket‑list spot. You notice it before you even walk in, bright signs in the window, stacked drinks, and that steady flow of locals popping in and out like part of their daily routine. Inside, it's tight aisles packed floor to ceiling with beer, liquor, snacks, sodas, energy drinks, and a random mix of everyday essentials you didn't realize you needed until you saw them. The pre‑bagged drinks were just as cool in person, and what really made it memorable was that they hand you a cup of ice when you buy one. Simple, but somehow makes the whole experience feel intentional and welcoming instead of just transactional. The staff was friendly and quick, clearly used to keeping the line moving while still acknowledging everyone who walks in. It's not a place you browse slowly. You step in, grab what you need, exchange a quick hello, and head back out to Mission Street. However, we treated it like a tourist attraction, laughing at the drink names, and hovering around while we each picked a drink. Not a destination shop in the traditional sense, but for me it was. Really cool to travel across the country and finally stop into a place I'd only seen online and it lived up to the vibe.

They have everything you could ever want from a corner store, including a surprising wine collection and way too many T-shirts and baseball caps. This place hits it out of the park in the selection department, five out of five. But the first few times I came here, the guy working the counter was very gruff with me. I like curmudgeonly types as much as the next guy--I'm crusty and rough around the edges sometimes myself--but the first time, it was like he was itching for something to start an argument with me about. I haven't had that experience recently, but it did happen more than once. They do a pretty good business, but it's never crowded in an annoying way like Mission District or TL corner stores can be and often are. The prices seem high for the neighborhood, but I've mainly bought soda here, and it seems like every corner store is ripping people off on the price of soda at the moment. It's right on the edge between three stars and four, but I'm feeling generous today.
