I found them just by chance when I was googling for someone to paint our new (to us) 1920's craftsman. They had a stellar online reputation, and we appreciated the fact that they specialized in painting historic homes.
When I called, they were booked for the next several months, so I pretty much gave up on getting them. The gods must have been smiling on us, however, as Joshua called the morning we were getting bids from other painters and told us that they had had a last-minute cancellation that would free them up at the very time we needed them. Joshua and Matthew came over that day, and, while their estimate was a bit higher than others', we soon learned that they were worth every penny--and then some!
Joshua and Matthew (and Joshua's younger brother, another Matthew) treated our home as though it was theirs, in every respect. They NEVER cut corners--and, in fact, did things TO corners (and walls, and trim, and cabinets, and...) that were well above our expectations. We thought our house was lovely before they started, but, when they were done, it truly looked like a work of art.
They were also extremely professional, communicating regularly with us on their status (we weren't living in our home yet), showing up when they said they'd show up, and, most importantly, finishing the job right on schedule--something on which Joshua said he prides himself. (Joshua said he's NEVER missed a deadline, and anyone who's worked with contractors knows that that, alone, is remarkable!)
Joshua and Matthew aren't just painters; they're artists. They care deeply about old homes, and restoring them to their prior beauty is part of the legacy they want to leave behind. (Yes, Joshua actually said this to me, and it's clearly true.) Needless to say, my husband and I would HIGHLY recommend this company.
