I came in to schedule my appointment and got an estimate. The work is now complete. They hit the estimate (installed new brakes all around), plus a little extra for antifreeze (drain & fill), and a tire rotation. Tires were already off the vehicle, so why not rotate them? Makes sense to me. It was one of the hottest days of the summer so far, 90 degrees, and these guys were still on it. No complaints, just got the work done. Better than me. I think I've found my new go to auto repair shop.

Well, they sold me a battery then said they weren't comfortable swapping them out. They recommended a nearby shop but, once I drove there, that shop refused to install someone else's battery and wanted to charge me over $700 which seemed really fishy. So I was stuck with a $200 battery and a truck I couldn't turn off. Gave someone else a call and they recommended E. Mower & Son. These mechanics couldn't have been nicer. The fact that we both are/will be shipping an engine from CO to NY says something about this place. I haven't had the work done yet but am shipping my engine to them based on my friends recommendation and the great communication I have had with the owner Chuck Haberek. He has been great to work with and very helpful. The restoration will be a multi year project so I won't have the rebuilt (and small internal upgrades) engine back in the car an running for another 6 to 12 months but when I do I will update this review.

In addition to some of the specifics mentioned in my previous review (see below), there have been several instances where Ankers could have just recommended the more expensive route to fix something, but chose to allow us to make an informed decision by trying alternatives or doing things incrementally so that it could be determined if a smaller fix would suffice. All this without sacrificing the integrity of the car, though. It is such a relief to know you are going to receive competent and honest work on one of the major financial investments you make: your vehicle. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I had just gotten onto I-90 when my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. My check engine light came…read moreon and I was given the message that my emissions control system needed to be checked (among many other systems that said they needed fk be checked but did not come back on after turning my car on again). After several minutes of panicking and phone calls to various people, I managed to get myself and my vehicle safely off of the interstate. I was able to find Anything Automotive & Tire. Upon speaking to someone (I did not get their name and I'm kicking myself for it), they brought my car in and hooked it up to the code reader. It threw a transmission code and they checked my fluid level to find that it was low. Upon adding fluid, they were able to reset the code. We had never met before and they could obviously tell that I had been and still was panicked about my car. They were willing to help a complete stranger and they did so with the utmost kindness and compassion. They saved my butt today and I cannot even begin to figure out how to thank them. This is a fantastic business with some top-notch folks working there. Thank you so much for helping me put this afternoon. You guys rock!!!
