Late review but I came here for the last day of their OC Punk Rock exhibition which included a…read moreconcert by Channel 3, Manic Hispanic and Agent Orange. So my experience will be a bit out of the ordinary since it was very very crowded there lol. Located on the corner of Pomona and Wilshire, the Fullerton Museum Center is almost like a neighborhood museum because it's surrounded by houses. There's a parking structure nearby which was free to park at, or at least it was on this day. As I said earlier it was extremely crowded and there were two lines. One to get into the concert area and one to get into the museum and it was a pain to find which was which. One we were inside, the punk rock exhibit was nicely done. Lots of cool pieces from OC punk rock royalty were on display. TSOL, DI, CH3, Agent Orange, Adolescents and Social Distortion were all front and center. I was particularly happy to see the original artwork for TSOL's "Dance With Me" album cover in the flesh. They also had lots of cool stuff in the gift shop and of course the concert itself was great! If Fullerton Museum Center brought this back or did another cool exhibit I'd certainly return. The drive isn't my favorite and the location is a bit odd but staff were friendly and helpful even though they weren't prepared for THAT many people. Museums are important and I'd like them to stick around. Recommended!

The gift shop is really cute but crazy expensive. $40 for a notebook is a bit much. Truly nice things but just way too much. There's a payphone in a booth which made for a nice photo. They don't allow backpacks or large bags and ask that you leave it in an open cubby near the register. The place wasn't terrible but extremely underwhelming. There was some artwork, some posters and about 5 guitars on display. Upstairs is closed. That's pretty much it. We spent about thirty minutes here.

I met up with a friend that I hadn't seen for awhile and it was the perfect place to catch up during a walk around of the garden. I loved the pond with the lily pads and turtles, and the Heritage House surrounded by orange trees and roses. I was impressed by the amount of orange trees. It reminds you of why they call it Orange County. If I went to school here I'd be here probably once a week. Otherwise it's great to come if you live in the OC.

Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a free attraction at Cal State University Fullerton. From the parking lot it was easy to follow the signs along to the garden. The garden had areas that represented Woodlands, Mediterranean, Dessert, and a Cultivated Collection. There were walking paths but I still recommend closed toed shoes since it's a bit sandy. They had many benches throughout for resting or handing out and admiring nature. We spent about an hour here, but to be fair I'm not that into nature. I GOT A BUG BITE and it swelled and was super itchy. Sigh. I think someone who super loved nature or wanted to take their time to hang out could take 2-3 admiring all the plant life. My FAVORITE moments here was when we came across wildlife. My favorite were the rabbit, turtle, and crane. It's beautiful. Great spot to get some steps in and absorb some sunlight.

The downtown Fullerton art walk happens on the first Friday of every month. This happens all year round. It seems like the event was more popular maybe pre-covid? Not too sure. You can walk around downtown, and you will see signs put out for the businesses that are participating. It seems like the hours vary depending on the business. So, some were closed when we went. It may be a good idea to go during the day, so you can hit all of the places before they close. We got to see some art. It was cool. It's always fun exploring downtown Fullerton! Not bad for a free event. It's not something you have to run to go do. It was alright for what it is. A free event to do on a Friday, once a month lol

It was cool how everything was gathered in one place and there was a lot of festivities: photobooth, live music, food trucks, beer and wine garden, arts and crafts booth for kids, etc. The museum gift shop was also open to browse. Great atmosphere and nice to walk around, though I didn't really get involved too much with the booths. I was there mostly to browse and soak in the atmosphere. And to get grub from the food trucks, haha. The gathering was a lot smaller than I thought and I was expecting to see a lot more, but it's ok. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Parking was a breeze since they were set up right next to a couple of free public parking garages. All in all, the event provided some great atmosphere, but I'm not sure if a normal Artwalk would be for me. I suppose if I had nothing better to do on a Friday night and wanted to soak in some local art, I'd go again.

Jurassic Con is a fun and free, little convention that's taken place in the Ralph B. Clark…read moreInterpretive Center for the last couple years. They've gathered props, costumes, and special effects pieces from different movies and shows, most particularly the Jurassic franchise, obviously. This year, unlike last, there was more going on outside with all the different tents dedicated to paleontology, local indigenous tribes, and environmentalism. They also had science presentations using liquid nitrogen. This year there were more cosplayers, and several Jurassic Park jeeps in the motor pool. Since they hold it in a place loaded with fossils, it sort of blurs the lines between cinema and reality. You get done looking at studio molds, animatronic dinosaurs, and Ray Harryhausen's claymation figures, and go look at Ice Age mammals, take pictures pretending to be eaten by a megalodon, and ask the resident scientists about the latest finds.

Right now building one, there is an incredible art exhibit on the history of skateboarding in Anaheim. It's awesome. I took so many photos lol. I used to skateboard when I was a kid. Loved every second of this exhibit. The second building houses so very cool artifacts from the 1800s to the 1900s reflecting the history of Anaheim. It was cool to go back in time to see the history of a place I called home. I saw the history of Anaheim vineyards and Valencia oranges, I saw a lot of information on the ranchos in Anaheim. The Anaheim street names are all named after very important ranchers and farmers in Anaheim. For example I saw the name of a rancher Don Bernardo Yorba who created the greatest rancho of California's Golden Age. No wonder we have cities like Yorba Linda and streets with name Bernardo. Fascinating stuff. Also, there was a video recalling the bicentennial which was July 4, 1976. It was a big deal. There were other artifacts like photographs and a typewriter, luggage and military uniforms. So much history packed in that museum. If you love to visit museums, Muzeo is one that you must visit. They provide validated parking in lots 3 and 5. If you are an Anaheim resident, the cost is only $8. Regular admission is $10. There are discounts for seniors, students and children.

I went to the La Habra Children's Museum with my two sisters and my nephew, and we had such an…read moreamazing time! I took so many pictures because there were so many cute and fun moments. The dinosaur by the entrance was one of our favorites--my nephew loved it so much and was excited the whole time. One of the best parts was the stage and dress-up theater section. It was so engaging for the kids! They got to play, pretend, and really use their imagination. It was fun watching them interact, perform, and just be themselves. I also liked how social it was for children. Kids were playing together, sharing, and exploring as a group, which made the experience even better. It's not just fun, but also a great place for kids to build confidence and connect with others. Overall, such a fun and memorable day. Definitely a great spot for families with kids! Side not get camera ready! I took so many photos I only posted what I could for privacy reasons but such memorable experience!
