Right now there is a lowrider exhibit. On the other side of the museum (separate buildings) there's artwork and a small walk through of Anaheim history. Parking is free with validation. Just ask at ticket booth and they will give you a separate ticket to insert after initial ticket from parking structure. You'll spend less than an hour here. It's located in Anaheim, CA. This museum has good art galleries and revolving exhibits. Similarly, it has become part of the Carnegie Library which gives visitors full access. The museums current exhibits were a collection of the 60th Annual Juried show by Anaheim Art Association. Some of the art displayed on the galleries can be purchased while some are NFS. Admission ticket is $10 bucks. A female staff was friendly. Gift store is tiny with few art souvenirs, tote bags, decal stickers, mugs, books, and merch. We visited during the weekday whereby scant visitors are in the museum. Street Parking is nonexistent, however, plenty of timed parking structures adjacent and across from the museum. Overall, it's a decent museum with good art exhibits. You can finish it in under an hour. I still recommend you visit if you're in the area. read more

Visited Muzeo for the first time to check out the MARVELOCITY: THE ART OF ALEX ROSS exhibit. There were a few other exhibits available but we only had time for Marvelocity. I imagine you could knock out all of the exhibits in a few hours and make an afternoon of it as the museum is on the relatively small side. Entry: Tickets can be purchased online ahead of time or in person. Your receipt will be your proof for entry to the exhibits. Parking: Only a few specific lots surrounding Muzeo are available for parking validation so be sure to check out the website and park in the correct lot. Parking tickets can be validated at the check-in/purchase desk and/or gift shop. If there is an exhibit that sounds interesting to you, I definitely recommend visiting Muzeo. Then, take a short walk to the Anaheim Packing District for a drink, snack, or meal. read more

This is a cute little museum. You can tell it's fairly old when you go down to the bathrooms. There's a separation, building wise, for the museum which I thought was weird. But always nice to know the history of Anaheim and it was pretty cool going through the second half of the museum. read more

Came here on the last weekend of the Houdini exhibit. The Houdini exhibit was excellent. This one would have benefited from a guided tour or a recording by the collector about his collection. Houdini was the main exhibit in the bigger building connected to the apartment complex. The lighting was great, videos were all working, displays looked great and environment was comfortable. We also checked out the stand alone building, it had a couple of train sets, a permanent Anaheim exhibit and a small play room for children. Overall for a small museum, we really enjoyed the Houdini exhibit and will be on the lock out for what they will have on display next! read more

This museum has constantly rotating exhibits, so you can visit again and again. There are two buildings. Everything looked new and clean. Well maintained and not run down at all. Street parking or they have paid lots nearby. Its in the downtown Anaheim section of town. Glad to have gone at least once. It's a really small museum, so you can see everything in about an hour. read more

Loved the Sleepy Hollow exhibit but I wanted more. Hope they expand it if offered again. There were two rooms and another empty space in the back I guess they were preparing for another exhibit. One room had artwork inspired by Sleepy Hollow and the main room had history, books, costumes, artifacts, etc. Got some free stickers and button from this exhibit which was a cool gift. read more

Nice downtown Anaheim location. The two exhibit halls had good exhibits. One was what looked like a show of local artists in different mediums, seemingly from pieces entered into a show put on by the city/museums. The other was in the old building where there was a permanent display of the history of Anaheim. The other two rooms were dedicated to Halloween (which is why we chose to come at this time).. One a history of the holiday, the other a history of the Anaheim Halloween festival and parade. The exhibits were not too extensive, but enough for a short afternoon visit. The area surrounding the mu do had lots of restaurants, and sit is near the Anaheim Packing House which gives you lots of options for before or after your museum visit. read more

This exhibit used to be a favorite. The kids still like trains, so we went again this year. Only 2 rooms with train set ups, and on the day we went one of them was not working! We went to the second room, and as soon as the trains started running, there was a really strong electrical burning smell. They disconnected the power, so now there were no trains running. To be fair, they did refund my money, but we never bothered to go back. It seems unlikely we will ever go back there. read more

Recently stopped by on 08/06/2021 with my fiancé and my sister and we had a very good time. While on our visit we loved that we got to meet an artist. His name is Sung Yong Tark :) His exhibit named, "Passing Through Life With Brushes, Chisels, & Clays" caught our interest, even though we don't speak or read Korean we couldn't help but admire his pieces. It was most splendid that he talked to us & shared what he was feeling when working on his masterpieces & talked to us for awhile about life & shared some beautiful words of wisdom. I will never forget this day. We really enjoyed this Muzeo :) it's small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for it in character. Great experience indeed read more

Today is my in-laws wedding anniversary. We celebrated with my F-I-L up in the heavens. Muzeo was my M-I-L's pick of the day. And luckily there is an awesome exhibit - Papel Chicano Dos - Now thru July 14, 2019 so try to visit if you are interested in some of Cheech Marin's collection. Pretty cool. There is a video that I highly recommend watching. It gives you a good foundation of the art and artistes behind these works. I like Cheech even more now. General admission is $10. Discounted if you are a senior, military, student or child. Parking is across the way in the structure and validated by Muzeo so that's nice! It's located on Center St. Promenade. There are some eateries and cafes here so it could be convenient for a little day trip. (Anaheim Packing District is less than half a mile away so...you can go there too) There is also free exhibits in the building next to the main hall. I will have to return for those. Come visit and keep the arts alive. read more

I'm no artist or museum enthusiast, but I was very underwhelmed with MUZEO. I came here with my husband after seeing them on channel 7 news about their train exhibit. My husband really likes model trains, so we were both excited for this experience. First of all, I thought this place was closed because it was so empty on a Saturday afternoon. That says it all.... Entry for the train exhibit was $10 per person. We paid and went inside. There was a large room with different themes of trains and a few other things to look at. We finished in 10 minutes. One of the trains were out of order too. Because we had so much time, we decided to check out the other building, which is free. We visited the 2nd floor calligraphy exhibit which was kind of cool. There was also a small history of Anaheim area. The downstairs was another exhibit that didn't interest me too much. Overall, I thought this train exhibit was too expensive and not worth the cost. read more

We went up to Muzeo after Christmas to check out the holiday train exhibit before it was gone after the holidays. The exhibit was small, but fun to check out and great for kids. The exhibits they had going at time we visited was the holiday trains, a glass and ceramic art exhibit and a local Anaheim history room. All 3 were worth seeing and the Anaheim History room is very interesting. I have lived in Orange County for over 30 years and was fascinated to learn the local history of Anaheim. When they have exhibits going, it is definitely worth visiting. The museum is located in a revitalized area of downtown Anaheim and there are some great restaurants within walking distance. The parking is in local parking garages and the museum does validate. read more

We visited for the Muzeo Express exhibit of holiday toy trains and items on loan from Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn. I was pleased with the displays and my toddler enjoyed pushing the buttons to make the trains go. They also had wooden train tables for kids to build and play and a wooden train cutout photo opp for us Insta happy adults. We did not visit the additional exhibits upstairs, wherever that was. My ticket was $10 and my 3 year old got in free. Parking was validated. I do wish they'd partner with AAA or offer residents additional discount opportunities. We went on a Thursday and there were food trucks and vendors on the street. I will probably go back sans toddler and enjoy some tacos and beer. read more

I have lived in Anaheim for almost 8 years now and today was the first chance I had to check this place out. It is located in the Center Street Promenade and is honestly one of the nicest looking museums I have ever seen. The ticket price for adults is only $10 which is quite good and the exhibits are rotated out every 3-4 months. I went for the sole purpose of catching the Spies, Traitors and Saboteurs exhibit that is on loan from the D.C. Spy museum before it ends this Monday and I was not disappointed. The exhibit was great covering everything from government espionage to the KKK to the Oklahoma City bombing and even 9/11. This exhibit had something for everyone and the 8 minute movie at the end on 9/11 was quite good. They also have a History of Anaheim exhibit that runs year round covering pretty much everything from the inception of the city to present day. The exhibit features items from the military, home life, the Angels and Ducks all the way to old school photos from the city's birth. Today also marked the debut of the new Lateral Acceleration exhibit focusing on various photos of Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout the Orange County area. The exhibit runs in two small halls and each has around 20 photos as well as Harley Davidson motorcycles & scooters to check out. Even a replica of the original Harley for the 100th anniversary is present. I recommend checking this place out for any fan of museums. The exhibits are well put together and always changing. I will be back soon to check out the Worn To Be Wild exhibit for sure. Overall, great experience. read more

From the outside this place looks like it had a lot to offer, but in reality it was kinda lame. It had four rooms of small locomotive train sets with Christmas decorations, a small room about the history of Anaheim, and the main exhibit. You can walk all this, use the bathroom and get a drink of water in under 5 mins and still question to yourself why did you pay $$ to graze like a cow. Overall, save your money and go grab some good food down the street, you'll thank me later. read more

The exhibits are ever changing which makes this location a great place to visit any time of the year. I learned about Muzeo while searching for California history museums. It turns out the history was crammed into a single alcove on the second floor of the old building (former Carnegie library). Informative and more interesting than I thought it would be (including historical hints of Asian American and other non-European peoples). Saturation hits quickly in the small and haphazardly arranged space. The major themes (pre-people, Native Americans, German farmers, postwar, etc.) each deserved their own space the size of that room. Each tightly packed photograph had the potential to tell its own story but most did not have any explanation. Also unfortunately, there was one area now covered by a painting but they didn't update the captions. It took me a good ten minutes to figure out why some captions and photos matched the diagram but others didn't. Other rooms had art created by school and self-help groups, and it was nice to see the interests and concerns of local people displayed. Intermixed were some paintings by a famous Orange County Chicano art pioneer, which was a little confusing. The new building had a rotating exhibition. The current display had an artist who worked with ghostly Euro-American postwar nostalgia with splashes of Victorian and non-European elements. It was interesting, but I was mostly there for the earlier history. One pleasant surprise: we happened to visit on a Thursday when they were having street food, art vendors, and a farmer's market. I was a little bummed that we only had 2-hour parking so we had to eat quickly. I was glad to support a local history institution, and would love to visit again some other time. read more

I had a great experience visiting Muzeo. I live in Dallas, and I planned a trip to LA to take my mom to the rotating exhibit "Dressing Downton" because she is a big fan of Downton Abbey and that was her mother's day present. I bought tickets way in advance, the tickets were timed 30 minutes apart. We drove from LA. Since it was our first time there, I believed the GPS when it told me that we would arrive in an hour, silly me! It took us 1.45 to arrive due to awful traffic. I was freaking out, because the day before I arrived late at the Broad and they were not very flexible on the ticket times. I called Muzeo to explain the situation, since that was the whole point of the trip to CA, but they were super nice and understanding. I really do appreciate them saving the day! Street parking was easy to find, I believe there is a parking lot and they validate parking too. The exhibit was guided. The guide was so nice and gave us such an informative explanation of every display shown. It was truly more than I expected. The staff and exhibit was way beyond what I thought it would be. They also have a permanent collection that is free. The permanent collection may not be worth a very long drive from LA, but if you are already in Anaheim, it's a good one to check out. A couple of tips: -Anaheim Packing District is right across the street, which is an awesome food court with many, many awesome things to eat. -The Bruery is a couple of miles away, if you love craft beer and you don't go there, you are not someone I want to know. read more

First time at Muzeo to see the " Dressing Downton" exhibition. Easy to find and plenty of parking at their parking lot building. I think first 2 hours are free, but if you want to hang around, take your ticket to the Muzeo, they'll validated so parking will be free. Hey did have a tea room, however, pricey for what they offered. Look pretty simple for $60. Souvenir store is small but have cute stuff related to the exhibition. Docents were nice and friendly. Conveniently located to plenty places to eat, walk and relax. read more

We rented out the corner room in the Carnegie Building for my book launch party on 2/20/18. We'd planned for 85 guests, a taco bar, and live band. The staff at Muzeo were incredible! Jessica, Jennette, and Cruz had the set up perfect, and brought more chairs when needed, and told us time an again that if we needed anything, to let them know. They worked tirelessly all night to keep our guests happy. We ended up with 126 people in this beautiful space, and because of the staff, there was room for all. I highly recommend Muzeo for any of your event needs. We loved it. read more

Read about this current exhibit about the Japanese in the Anaheim magazine and wanted to go there. I had a boss back in the 70s that was in one of the internment camps when she was a little girl and she was very bitter. It was interesting but I thought for the price there should've been a little bit more detail or more testimonials. Came here for the first time to visit the "Dressing Downton" exhibit. The museum has 2 parts: 1) A rotating exhibit - When we went they had "Dressing Downton" - which showed us actual clothes from the show 2) A small, 2-story museum (Free) - Top floor has a new tea room (reservations needed) and a history of Anaheim, bottom floor had some artwork/ceramics There is limited street parking or you can park in the parking structure across the street. It is free for 2 hours (which is all you will really need when visiting). The smaller two story museum had some interesting pieces of Anaheim (Mighty Ducks memorabilia, Disneyland information, missions, etc), but it was very small and I was through with that part of the museum in about 10 minutes. I would recommend looking through here either before or after your tour since it doesn't take long. As a big fan of Downton Abbey, I was looking forward to the exhibit. I was very excited to see the costumes from the show. You will need tickets (you can prepurchase them on the website) and the tours run every 30 minutes. The tickets were $20, with reduced pricing for seniors, students, and kids. You have a docent who will give you a guided tour for each piece with fun tidbits about the show and fashion from the era. The guided tour will be about 45 minutes long, but you are welcome to go through the exhibit at your own pace. The set up for the clothes were complete with historical context from the era as well as context for the show. The mannequins were life sized so you could see how small Lady Mary's waist actually is! I would definitely recommend the exhibit for any Downton Abbey fans, otherwise it may not be as interesting. I am curious to view other exhibits as they open up, but disappointed with the overall small size of the other part of the museum. read more

Oh MUZEO, I so badly wanted to give you a 4 or even a 5, being that you are the closest museum to my residence, but you just occupy too small of a space for exhibitions. If I'm done with a museum visit in less than 30 minutes then there's a problem. I'm a super fan of local museums too! The Cougars & Grizzlies exhibit had stuffed animals, factual posters, fossils, wall art, interactive sound effects and video footage playing on a couple of screens. Easy to walk through and lots of information to read about on the walls. Across the way in the older Anaheim Museum building, featured paintings from the Anaheim Art Association. Loved the artwork in here, some for sale and some not. There is also a room displaying the history of Anaheim, which I found appealing. Still my mind was begging and desperate for another showcase. Didn't have time to explore the gift shop. The exterior of MUZEO is spacious and usually quiet. Unless there is an event going on. Lofts and condos surround it. I have wandered it's outer grounds many times. Would I return? Sure. Seems perfect for a wedding, reception or function. Just wish it had more to offer in the exhibition department. read more

Muzeo was the perfect venue I was looking for to host my wedding reception. I had been looking and looking all over OC for a venue that had an urban city feel, ample parking, a competitive price and allowed outside catering. I finally found it here! Me and my husband love local history so it was perfect. I had cocktail hour at Carnegie Plaza and it created a cool modern setting with a nice long fountain. The reception was inside the museum which was very cool for guests to be able to see the exhibit and make their way to the event space which was still surrounded by art pieces. I keep getting compliments about my reception venue to this day, people ask how I found such a gem and talk about how they plan to go back to Muzeo and explore the surrounding areas. Patricia was extremely helpful, flexible and courteous throughout the planning process. She provided me with awesome vendor referrals and any items she could provide, she did. I can't wait to see our professional wedding photos with Muzeo and the old Anaheim Public Library as the backdrop. We plan on revisiting Muzeo for years to come and relive our wedding memories. read more

Being addicted to chocolate - when I heard about an exhibit about chocolate in the area - there was no hesitation on my part to go. None at all. Parking: There's a parking structure which on the weekends, according to the Muzeo staff, that doesn't require validation. So, basically, it's free. I don't know about time restraints but I was there for only about two hours and my car wasn't towed nor ticketed. Admission: Thank you BOFA! Having an account with BOFA and showing my debit card, admission was free for me. Otherwise, I think it would have been $13 or $14 per person. Exhibit: In my opinion, it's like being in a walk thru science project about chocolate. As you walk from one area to another, you learn different tidbits about chocolate's history even seeing some replica items that were used back in time. There's a lot of information presented - though I felt there could have been more detailed information. However, for the price I paid and for the floor space available, the presenters did an adequate job. Bonus exhibition: Admission includes a visit to the neighboring building where there was an area dedicated to the history of Anaheim. It's an abbreviated history, but interesting nonetheless. There were rooms or galleries of photos to see as well. There were a few awesome shots but for the majority, I thought there were just ok. Not to downplay anyone's abilities or talents, I just felt that I've seen much more spectacular shots at other galleries, like at the OC Fair. There was a chocolate tasting available too. You get to try three pieces of chocolate with varying concentrations of cacao. That in itself was interesting because it definitely shows you how much our society loves sweetened chocolate. read more

The current work by Chicano artists are great but at the price point they are asking for, the price is steep. $10 for few items. Children price is 7 dollars. This is a cool museum, located in the heart of Anaheim, close enough for tourists who are fed up with Disneyland, or locals (like me) who ignore Disneyland like NYC residents ignore the Empire State Building. Since the pros and cons go hand in hand, I might as well lump them together. Try not to get confused. 1) Rotating exhibits. Like any other museum, there's always one that being featured or headlined. On my visit this week, I saw the Spies, Traitors and Saboteurs. My visit is timely as Sept 11 was right around the corner. That was a great exhibit, with items on loan from the Spy Museum in DC. Sadly, no one was allowed to take pics of the items. There were A/V stuff (touchscreen polls you can take, 4 min films you can watch, and things to read and touch). The downside is, there's no permanent exhibit. You're stuck with what's there at the time, like a cafeteria with food on a non-rotating menu. 2) Docent Tours. On the weekends, a staff member will conduct an hour tour of the exhibit. Our guide, Beth, was very well-versed with the subject and was rather enthusiastic about the topic. She even admitted to doing research for her guided tours. Downside is, these tours were only available on the weekends. 3) They have a gift shop. I like gift shops, they're like dessert after a nice meal. The downside is, the stuff in the shops are sparse. Without a permanent exhibit to support a variety of merchandise to sell, this has no presentable solution. All in all, I like this museum, having been to many museums all over the US and the world at large and taking this one for what it was worth. Can't wait for the Leather Jacket exhibit (Worn to be Wild) and the SoCal Motorcycle Culture (Lateral Acceleration). read more

I took my grandson to ty he mask making g event. It was unorganized. They told us it was upstairs; so we go upstairs, get a mask to paint; but no one gives us any paint for a few minutes. This guy who was part of the staff; says "go ahead paint" & points to a container of paint brushes. I say "I need paint". Finally he plops a large container of yellow paint; we didn't want yellow......anyway I finally find a price of cardboard & go around getting different colors of paint from other people then we finally get started in our masks. We are almost done & they decide they are moving everyone downstairs. So now we have to take our wet, half done masks & go downstairs; so we can finish our masks. They were so not ready for this event. But what should you expect from a free event? Here's our finished masks. read more

We love going to the Muzeo. There are always interesting exhibits on a wide, diverse range of topics. Currently, they have an exhibition on Buffalo Soldiers. Like other Muzeo exhibits, there is a lot of information and various forms of media packed into a relatively small space. There is also a second building which carries a different exhibit - usually some kind of artwork - plus a room dedicated to Orange County history. Although I would say we usually spend 45 minutes to an hour here, tops, I love this museum. read more

First visit and I managed to find my way easily via GPS and parked along the street with 2 hours free parking. Finding the place is not difficult, just have to follow the sign and you"ll see the museum with the word "Muzeo". Admission was $10 and it took me less than 30 minutes to walk through the entire exhibition. The first part of the exhibition was about the ancient relationship of humans and large cats and how humans who migrated 15,000 years ago, found themselves living among hungry predators such as mountain lions, sabre-tooth tigers, cheetahs and etc, for thousands of years. The second part of the exhibition was about the grizzly bears. I always seen the grizzly bear logo everywhere I go but have not idea why it was a bear and not any other animals. It was only via today's exhibit, I finally understand why grizzly bear is California's state animal. Overall, it was a small exhibition area and I believe it is based on individual interest if you like it or not. Tips: Get prepared with real-life looking cougars, bears, squirrels and fox displays.
