I recently decided to revive my mountain bike, so I took it by Fulton Cycle Works to have them take a look. Darren was very friendly and very upfront and honest with what the bike needed and didn't need. I ended up leaving the bike to be fixed up. They were quick to fix everything, and had me out and riding the next day. I have since come in and had my tires fixed on a few occasions, and they have taken the bike on the spot and had it done within 10 minutes. The entire team is friendly and professional. The most friendly staff in Kings and Tulare county. We live in visalia but won't do business with the shops there as their is no customer service. Darren and Jake are always willing to go the extra mile to get another repair in or find a part. Always honest about pricing and selection never a hard sell . I went to Fulton because it's close to where I live and had pretty good yelp ratings. I was not disappointed. The owner was swamped but I just need some new tubes and tires. His charming wife gave me some preliminary info while he finished up with another customer. When it was my turn, I got all the info and options I needed and made my choices. I'm not big on writing reviews, but sometimes things just shouldn't be left unsaid. I first became aware of Fulton Cycle Works a year or so ago while they were still in Fresno, after they were "in the news" due to frequent break-ins at the shop. My bike was stolen about 3 years ago and I just hadn't replaced it. Wanting to support a local, family owned business I paid them a visit. I met Darren and his wife, and she helped me with several product recommendations and sent me on several test rides. The welcoming family atmosphere of the shop had me convinced I was at the right place even though I was not ready to commit to a purchase that day. But what I did know was that these are the folks that I want to purchase my next bike from. That brings us to today. While there are numerous good bike shops in Fresno, I had no qualms about making the 40 mile trek to Hanford to meet up with Darren again. On the shop's Facebook page, he had posted a picture of a Marin Stinson "comfort" style bike which was very similar to the one I had. I must say, I lucked out as things were a little slow in the shop when I got there. Darren did a great job in asking questions as to the whats and whys of my bicycle needs. He did a excellent job in educating me as to what my options were and the different bikes he had. We easily spent 30 - 45 minutes going over the options. This was not up selling, as some of the bikes had a lower price point than the Stinson. The fact that he did not have a Stinson in my size assembled did not put a damper in things. It took him about 30 minutes to put one together. (again, I lucked out as things were slow). After a test drive, I brought home my new bike. The personalized service that I received was excellent. Was it worth the drive to Hanford? Absolutely! Would I recommend Fulton Cycle Works (even if you have to make a little drive?) Without a doubt! read more

Darren provides great service and they have a good selection of accessories to choose from. It's not all one big name brand or another - it's really a wide selection. I'm a vintage bike guy learning to rehab and ride classic steel for the most part. I frequent Steven's bike shops in Clovis and Fresno and while they're pretty helpful there, they are really busy most of the time and I usually get the impression they'd rather be selling the $2k bikes than helping me figure out how to take apart and fix my bottom bracket. Darren has been more than happy to share the knowledge and has an appreciation for all bikes, not just the flashy carbon fiber stuff. I still hit up the other shops - but I know if I need some good thorough advice and maybe even some hands on demo, Darren is the guy. I wouldn't hesitate to bring in a newer bike at all either.
