Never had any issues and they are very accommodating. I have been coming for over 5 years and you can be open and honest with them. The cleanings are standard and completed in a timely manner. The providers I've grown up hurried through my cleanings, gossiped through sessions (yes you know, the Vietnamese ones.. and you're left sitting there like why you're invisible LOL...), made me distrust dentists in general. I have been here twice, one time for treatment of cavities, another time for deep cleaning. These people are very co-operative. They told me the exact problem and did not over-treat and over-charge me like other dentists. They walked me through the whole process very diligently, and told me exactly what they were doing at every step. Dr. Gao is so sweet! I skipped going to the dentist for 2 years because my previous (life-long!) dentist made me so afraid and anxious about even cleanings. This caught up to me when a filling fell out, and I scheduled an appointment quickly and easily over the weekend. I ended up having to come in a few days after to get more work done, and had great experiences both times. After getting a filling the second time, my jaw was too numb to tell that it was a little misaligned (no way she could have known and at the time I thought it felt right), and they allowed me to come in late after work the next day to smooth it down quickly and easily with no copay! Had my teeth cleaned here last July and the dentist did a preventative filling. To my shock, she didn't use anesthesia. Been going here for a few years and they are great. Price: They charge me $50 deductible for the first visit of that year, and charge everything else to my insurance for each visit after that (I pay $50 out of pocket per year) My old dentist charged me $90 per filling, with the same insurance. Fun Dental obviously works closer with the insurance companies to save their patients as much money as possible. (Not sure pricing W/O insurance, I use guardian) Quality: They use porcelain fillings, even on the back teeth. No more ugly black fillings for me. Great job on getting me numb, never have any pain when I needed a filling or root canal. Customer Service: They have an extremely friendly team. I went in for a cleaning one day and the entire team was surprisingly excited to hear my stories from a trip I went on to Europe I have recommended Fun Dental Care to many of my Friends and they all had excellent experiences. read more

I had a crown that fell out on a Sunday night. That night I went and scheduled an appointment at Fun Dental Care. The original crown plus root canal was $1000 after insurance, so I was very nervous about how much this would cost. I was very happy when they said just under $200 after insurance. They fixed my tooth and then did a deep cleaning. My lower front teeth have always looked horrible, even after repeated cleanings at my old dentist. Now my teeth look so good. I can't believe I wasted all this time with my teeth looking so bad. Even though it took a long time, they were patient with me and the fixed tooth didn't hurt despite no pain meds. The cleaning was painful but Dr. Gao let me take breaks through out. Even though I typically hate the dentist, this is the best place I've been in a long time. read more

I have been looking for a dentist much closer to me than my regular dentist as they are in Los Altos and it is extremely difficult to get there from West San Jose on weekdays and it is a long drive. I asked around and I was referred here by a friend and they suggested I get Dr. Lucy as she is really gentle. I made my first appointment and I loved her! She works with you to find out what you want done and when as well as working with what needs to be done in addition. My whole needle issue was handled GREATLY here too! I am giving 5 stars for their customer service (I ended up using another provider). I started having a tooth ache on Friday and when it looked like it wasn't going away or getting better I started looking at dental providers open on Saturday. I came across Fun and talked to Peter who was super efficient and friendly. He contacted the dentist who was out of town but was ready to see me later that evening. Did I forget to mention this was a long weekend? (Yes Murphy was at it again). Since the pain was getting worse I tried to find another dentist who could see me sooner and I lucked out. I have been seeing Dr. Athiprayoon for almost 15 years. My kids see Dr. Tanzil. We have moved a couple of times and thought of changing dentists, but we are so happy here, we are willing to make the drive to stay with these dentists. Scheduling appointments when I need them has never been a problem. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming when we are in the office and on the phone. Dr. A is very personable and has done an excellent job on my teeth from cleanings, to crowns. I have two crowns on my front teeth and always get comments about what pretty teeth I have. There is never a hassle as far as payments and insurance. I come in for an appointment, schedule our next appointments, and leave. They take care of all my insurance work for me. The office is very informative with video clips running in th waiting room that give information on the latest treatments and cosmetic options. They also have information on snoring devices, alternatives to braces, brands of toothpastes and oral rinses, etc. Even the dental assistants gave me great advice on how to help my sensitive teeth. I used to work for the "best dentist in the world" so when he retired, I had a hard time finding a dentist I liked. Now I would hate if Dr A retired because I am so happy with her. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because twice they had to change an appointment and I got a notice in the mail instead of a phone call to see if that worked for me. But that was a long time ago and now they call if they ever have to make any changes. I would recommend these dentists to my friends. read more

I went to Fun Dental Care feeling very jaded. I had had a disappointing experience with my previous dentist's office: 1. the receptionist was out-of-the-world rude a. hounded me for my SSN that I refused to share b. asked me to sign a form that indicated I read another form. When I asked her for the referenced form before signing, the response was "Oh you can just sign it, its a standard form, everyone signs it" c. actually typed a response in all caps d. would not give me a direct answer when I wanted to know the original format of the x-ray files (I wanted to show the x-rays to my cousin, a dentist, and the charge for sending me the x-rays in jpeg was $35. I wanted to see if my cousin used the same software so as to avoid the $35 charge) e. when I finally got the answer after 4 attempts, she wrote "we are done here" - why not just tell me the first time, that there would be a charge even if the files were shared in the original format? f. I received different estimates for the proposed treatment plan of deep cleaning and tooth extraction the couple of times I asked. I didn't feel confident they would not charge me more than the amount quoted. The prices were also lot higher than other places I enquired. 2. I wasn't very sure I could trust the dentist a. I knew the dentist socially and hoped I could trust them and not need to have my guard up. I had a really bad cavity that was hurting me off and on. Dentist said I also needed a deep cleaning. When I asked which one was higher priority, they pointed me to the deep cleaning. A couple of weeks down, the pain got so bad I needed an emergency tooth extraction. Why would they prioritize the deep cleaning above a badly infected tooth :( My experience with Fun Dental Care: 1. My co-worker's spouse works here and assured me I would get good care. My tooth pain was worsening and I had to trust someone, so I took the plunge. 2. Dr. Gao's office was very friendly and polite 3. I told Dr. Gao I wouldn't mind taking new x-rays the following month when I would be eligible for free x-rays. Dr. Gao's office took an x-ray free of charge for the impacted tooth, as we needed to get it extracted immediately, and Dr. Gao advised me to get the other x-rays from the previous dentist - she did not want me exposed to unnecessary radiation. My eyes popped out when she said that - wouldn't she want the extra $$ from my x-ray procedure?? I knew she was a keeper at that point 4. The tooth extraction was terrifying as should be expected. I have a very low threshold for pain. I screamed like a kid, but Dr. Gao and her staff were so patient. Props to dear Nary for encouraging me to go through with the procedure (I was ready to bolt out the door!) and Kimberly for holding my hand. Tooth extraction is not for the faint of heart, but I got through it, thanks to these guys! 5. There was no pain after the extraction! My face was not swollen either. When I went to work on Mon after the extraction on Fri, no one could tell I had had the procedure. 6. In the follow-up appointment, Dr.Gao said I would need deep cleaning for just one quadrant and not the entire mouth. Thank you for your honesty Dr. Gao. 7. The prices at the clinic are also reasonable. My faith in humanity is restored somewhat after my experience with Fun Dental Care. Thank you team! Edit: 3/17/2019 Couple of days ago I went back to Fun Dental Care for two fillings and deep cleaning for lower right quadrant. Dr. Athiprayoon treated me. This dentist facility is owned by a Thai Doctor, Dr. Athipprayoon. She is now a part-time or zero-time dentist. Other two dentists, Dr. Tanzil, and Dr. Huang are quite good. However, one of their hygienist, Sandra, is not professional. She keeps on talking on her personal story and distract the doctor while performing the work. Just shut her mouth up. One more thing is to be very careful on how they charge your insurance. You might feel you pay less out-of-pocket money. That's because they charge more service fee to insurance and you end up having less insurance money left while you need it. read more

Fun Dental Care is the best dental office I have found in the Bay Area! The team is extremely friendly and they really care. Dr. Wang takes the time to listen and ask you questions on the potential problems, care and cleaning procedures of your teeth. During the exam and the cleaning (which, by the way, he does himself(!) and then the hygienist polishes at the end), he explains everything he is doing and educates you on how you should care for problem areas. He does not rush into "fixing" anything that doesn't need immediate care. Instead he points it out and tells you to keep an eye or it, or to call immediately, should a problem arise. This shows that he is very honest to his patients and truthful. My family is seen by him every six months and the boys are at ease there. They are 10 and 7 years old and we have been going there for a few years, so even at a younger age, they were not afraid. This dentist definitely is a great one! The team is wonderful! And, they are conveniently open on Saturday mornings, for those who work full time, etc. Of course they take insurance, however, you need to call Fun Dental to see what they accept. Another thing I appreciated was that they looked into the insurance aspect for us. Other dentists in the past would tell me to call my insurance carrier myself, etc. They took it into their own hands at Fun Dental, and they got back to us right away.
