This place was a life saver when we were visiting during the Kona low and it was absolute pouring outside! We split $50 between both of our kids and the claw games, arcades and other games kept them entertained for a good hour and a half. Our kids are in middle and elementary school and it seemed like a mix between a Chuck E. Cheese & Dave and Busters but on a very, very small scale. This is a bit of a gambling hall for kids. It's incredibly over stimulating with lights and sounds going off everywhere like an amped up arcade. If that's what you like, you'll enjoy it. Theres rides, coin games and toys at the prize counter. It's a happening place for kids kind of like a Chucky Cheese but more booming. Sadly we lost our VIP card had almost 4k tickets my son was so bummed and I didn't know they can look for it if I only had registered it. Bummer! Soo... I kind of never really want to grow up and I really like coming to Fun Factory. Lol. Maybe it's the whole childhood nostalgia feels or the rush I get from scoring that huge stuffed animal from the giant claw machine or beating my husband at the basketball shootout game, but I'll gladly spend $20, $40 here once in a while. They've expanded their original shop and also offer birthday parties for the kiddos (& big kids if you really want to party here) now. You can bring in your own food and you can set-up inside or outside on the little lanai. You can purchase game cards for your guests which allows you 2 hours of unlimited play on arcade games (ones with no ticket payout) and 20 tries on games with ticket payouts. Not bad! I like the arcade/game choices better at the other location, but this one still has some pretty fun ones like ski ball, air hockey, & a giant claw machine. They also don't have as big a selection on prizes. The great thing is they moved to a cashless/card based system a while ago so you can just swipe & play without the hassle of getting tokens. This isn't a Chuck E. Cheese by any means, but it's the only thing offered on the rock. The same family that runs the county and state fairs of Hawaii, E.K. Fernandez, owns these chain of arcades. This location is in the Maui Mall, and recently expanded to include 2 party areas and more square footage. The indoor party space occupies a sliver of floor off to the side of the arcade so it can be a bit noisy. The outdoor area sits under the mall's overhang and is 100% shaded, and doesn't receive any direct sunlight due to the building's position. It comes with a private entry/exit door into the arcade. There is no food or beverage for sale or any form of animatronic entertainment (am I showing my age?) What they do have are video games, those addictive but waste of time grabber cranes, basketball, skee ball, air hockey, and others. Where's the plastic ball pit? I can't believe I used to love that at the Chuck's... Can you say staph?! Yuck, lol! We came for a 5-year old's birthday party, and here's the breakdown. There's no fee to have your party here, just a reservation and a minimum amount of 10 kids at $15/head which includes 3 hours of party area usage, 90 minutes of unlimited game play, and ticket prizes at the end for all. The token system has been replaced with play cards, so swipe away. Apparently some games aren't included in this ticket price. You bring your own food, beverage, utensils, and dessert. They provide the trash can. The hosts say it was worth it; not having to pay for a bouncy castle, decorate, or clean up the mess their house was left in, in years past. read more

I loved coming here to play the big claw machine because they got so many new squishmallows but, after loading $50 on a card to play the claw does not work properly. I really wish they would fix it or atleast an out of order sign because every time I picked up a squish it falls right through because it doesn't close. I give this Fun factory location 5 stars because it is the biggest on the island, it is clean, and it has air conditioning. There are a decent amount of toddler games, which was good for our visit since my babies are 1 and 3. You need a Fun Factory card in order to play the games, instead of the traditional golden coins they had when I was a child. Most of the tickets were also loaded onto the card, which is kind of sad because I loved the feeling of having a handful of tickets in my hands to redeem at the prize counter. After spending $20 of credit on a few games, my babies earned 107 tickets. Enough for one of those tiny parachute toys, and 2 gummy candies. I have to keep reminding myself that it was more for their experience than the end prizes. read more

What a blessing that this fun friends & family joint still exists (hasn't closed down due to pandemic)! Air circulation is strong, hand sanitizers are easily accessible and it's never excessively crowded. The staff are always super friendly. If a machine breaks or lacks tickets, it's easy to find an available staff member to come running over to quickly fix the issue and resume our gaming fun. They are always eagerly ready to attend to us at the prize shop, even if other customers are redeeming tickets. Very efficient & great customer service with lots of smiles. Owners, Ryan & Tobi, have never ceased to show their aloha spirit. My keiki definitely feel at home here, probably since we come ever week for Gold Card Tuesdays, spend holidays here to load up our cards & double up our playtime & we always celebrate birthdays with easy to book party planning. Before having kids, we came here simply to play with friends. Now with our own children, we get to play with them in a safe & positively stimulating environment. The fun never ends at an affordable price. I truly appreciate that both locations decorate beautifully for holidays, and new games are always rolling in or the floor plan rearranges. We love going to Dave & Busters in Southern California and were hoping there was one in Maui, but what we found instead was the Fun Factory! Yes, it is smaller, but we were surprised at the variety of games and prizes they had. I don't think we recognized half of the games. All of the staff at both locations were so nice and helpful. Well all we have here is fun factory so the kids love it, but adult wise...eh it's just ok. It was super busy....2 birthday parties going on in addition to the regular traffic. There were only 3 people on staff so it did make the waits a little longer when buying your card or trying to redeem your tickets. It is pricey but I guess this is Maui and that unfortunately is something we expect. All in all the kids had fun and for a place like this that's pretty much the main thing. read more

I came in about a week ago with my grandparents and they played a game called whack and win was readong the signs on it and it says "game of skill not strength" my grandpa hit it and it only went a little ways up then i hit it and same thing so i went again and hit it harder it only went 2 points higher doesnt seem like a game of skill and a rip off told my grandparents im not coming here anymore and no one addressed that the game was rigged loss of $$ read more

This place is just another arcade scamming people. I've experienced many different arcades in my lifetime and I've got to say, fun factory was one of the worst. They make every machine that has the possibility of a payout, have a payout. Also the place is crazy expensive. If you really expect to bring home something good with $20 here, think again. Most games have high scores set super high to where by no means is possible to beat or hit the jackpot and every skill claw has a huge overbite in the claw. Not to mention there are a few E-Claws and pirates chests. Also the game library is very limited. I spent $40 here and could've used that at another arcade back in California and have been WAY more successful. 80 credits for $20 and most games vary from 4.4-13 credits a play. I have 2 small kids so We frequent Fun Factory since they're the only ones here in Maui. I really wish we can have Chuck e Cheeses soon. Fun factory machines especially at Maui Mall location are cheats!!! Most of the time the tickets won't even come out even if you win. And if you call on the customer service people they would look at you like you are the one cheating! I don't care about the prizes (they're cheap and worthless) but they can't be cheating people, especially going to this place is really expensive. I see kids who really collect the tickets because they look forward to the prize but if the machines cheats and won't disburse tickets, how sad would that be for them? read more
