Their signature 'cup-sized' cocktails, like their…read morehouse margarita, the 'Sinner's Punch' (a house specialty), or maybe even their Long Islands. Plus, the happy hour prices are attractive and the 'portion sizes' for the drinks are more than ample. You know what else is good? The pricing. Happy hour prices aside, Saints-Independence is offering a price point that is a bit below market for their fare, and in these times, that alone can draw you in. But, ah, there's the rub. The food is pretty average, so it's a good thing that you likely aren't going to squabble over the bill. Bar & grille food isn't usually supposed to blow your hair back, but Saints has a lot of fried options that seem under-seasoned and slow to be delivered, sooo not exactly prime. The servers are friendly, but if they have to cover the patio and the bar/dining room, then it's not a surprise that things move slowly. It's a great spot to meet, given that it's just off of I-70, but join for a drink & maybe an appetizer, and my guess is that you'll come to the same conclusion: it's just...OK.

Luckily, Saints came through like a holiday hero. Even on a quiet Thanksgiving stop-in, the place felt welcoming and relaxed. The staff seemed to immediately understand that I was one hunger pang away from giving a heartfelt Oscar speech about food. Drinks arrived fast, perfectly chilled, and honestly felt like the first step in my emotional recovery. When the food hit the table, it was exactly what an empty-stomach wanderer dreams about--hot, hearty and flavorful. Every bite felt like someone whispering, "You're gonna make it, buddy." Whether it was the seasoning, the freshness, or my Thanksgiving-level starvation, everything tasted phenomenal. Saints Pub didn't just serve me a meal--they rescued me from a very dramatic holiday meltdown. If you ever find yourself hungry, tired, or simply in need of a good meal in Independence, Saints has your back.

At first, I was having a difficult time hearing the music, so when a spot closer to the stage opened up, I moved. I later ordered a beer flight, and the bartender was great describing the different beers and checking in with me as I tasted each one. I enjoyed the musician despite the large crowd and the challenge of hearing him over the many conversations. Eventually, the crowd thinned out, and I was able to better enjoy the music. Overall, it's a nice brewery.

It's roomy and expansive with plenty of seating and a few yard games. It's popular, too, and will fill up quickly at peak times. There's plenty of drinking options. The menu boasts a number of styles, plus a few ciders, non-alcoholic choices and even a couple of cocktails. The best beer is your favorite beer and you should be able to find something that hits the spot. Food is available, however the kitchen backs up when it gets busy. Please keep that in mind if you're coming hungry. Entertainment ranging from trivia contests to comedy to cover bands will perform on a small stage inside at times. An events schedule is posted on the brewery's website if you want to see who's playing.

All rise for the honorably hungry! Presenting this review in true courtroom drama fashion…read more The Prosecution's Complaint: Plaintiff brings to the court's attention: the dark entrance staircase. Transitioning straight from the blistering sun into the dim foyer is a hazard--if you pay attention like a distracted squirrel, you will stumble downward toward your destination. Proceed with caution. The Defense Steps In: Once you survive the descent, the Defense presents a compelling case. The interior is sleek, mercifully air-conditioned, and remarkably clean despite the moody lighting. Our party was seated almost immediately, and our server was a delight. Exhibit A: The Rum Root Beer Float The Defense recommended this beverage, and while it tasted fantastic, the Prosecution requests exploratory evidence as to whether any actual rum was present. Multiple eyewitnesses at the table cross-examined their own floats and reached the exact same conclusion: zero detectable alcohol. Exhibit B: The Club Sandwich with Fries This main course will win over any jury. Perfectly toasted bread points loaded with roast beef, ham bacon, and a bacon jam that delivers a total flavor bomb. Absolute slam-dunk. Final Verdict: Aside from one co-counsel physically banging their head during the proceedings, the court dismisses all charges. I render my final ruling: a great place with solid food. Case closed!

We had the caramel cream ale, which is in my top 5 beers of all time. Perfectly sweet and light. The peach tee kolsch was good too- a nice balance of peach. The cherry limeade wheat was right on the edge of sour. It was good that it was served in a smaller glass so we didn't do too much of it. We also did a shot of the stonebreaker cinnamon whiskey, which was a really nice collab between fringe and another local distillery. Super smooth with an oaky flavor on the background. Absolutely love the dark carnival decor, especially the pinball machines, the giant skeleton and the patio with a garage door interior. Highly highly recommend on every level. You should go!

I tasted 10 during my visit and every single beer was worth trying. My faves were: Freshly Squeezed Blueberry Lemonade Wheat, Apple Pie Milkshake IPA and Calliope Caramel Cream Ale. Finally, the most important part of the operation is the people. Every single person that was present made me feel welcome and like I was already a part of their community. WOW, I was left feeling like I'd made new friends which I know I did. I travel to KC at least once per year and every year I will return to support this awesome brewery.
