Artego has been around for a while but with so many options around 39th street I just haven't ever made my way in to check them out. That all changed recently at my sister's wedding. Turns out my sister and brother in law Artego's fans and as the party weaned into the late hours they decided to order a bunch of pizza for guests to enjoy as a late night snack. I was delighted to see it was from Artegos as I hadn't had it yet. Long story short, it took a while for our large order on a weekend, but it was hot and honestly DELICIOUS when it arrived. I'd describe it as a sort of classic pizza. Medium but hearty crust, good toppings. Similar to Waldo or Minksys in style. I liked it so much I made a note to return, and I will! Probably next time I need a pizza and I'm out that way. Looking forward to it already. read more

Any visit to Artego is a treat. They've been around for years now, and I'll continue to stop by for pizza and wings with a side of blue cheese. The pizza has crispy crust similar to Detroit-style, but not as overbearing as a lot of Detroit-style crusts I've had. I love the crisp on the Artego crust. I haven't had the buffalo wings in a while but they've always been on my 'Top 3 Wings in KC' list. The pizza price is higher, so it's competing with other premium pies like Minsky's. I have been going to Artego Pizza for a few years and I will tell you it is Excellent Pizza...this is the only pizza that is just as good when re-heated the next day!!( I reheat in a frying pan with a spray of oil and a lid. We came here on fathers day '26. We There was plenty of seating which is surprising on how good it is. We landed here b/c all of the bbq places were lines out the door. Just had this delivered (have had it before) and it always hits! The hand tossed is a little thicker than other places but the crust is so good. We ordered carry-out! We got the chicken Alfredo and 39th street pizzas. Chicken Alfredo was pretty good but way too strong of a bacon flavor for my liking. I missed the Alfredo part because of this. The 39th street pizza was amazing! The crust is so thick and delicious that I found myself getting excited to get through the pizza part of it to get to it! 4 stars because of the Alfredo pizza and it's very pricey for the size. I ordered two small pizzas and a side salad and my total was $51. Not worth it to me as there are many good pizza options in the area. read more

Still thinking about their wings, pizza and dessert pizza. Tried this Midtown/39th street spot for the first time and I was not disappointed! First of all, Mike was so nice and educated me on what to order and the history of the spot. Joe himself, came out to say hi too! Their crust is where it's at and as a sauce dipper, I was excited! We did start out with their wings (best wing in KC, they say). They are baked and ran through twice & sauced twice! Wow!!! And their ranch and blue cheese are made in house. I was surprised that they were not very busy thinking about how many reviews they have but the place look really neat, and they have really good seating area. As soon as we entered we were greeted and given a seat we ordered cheese breadstick Which was very different than other places it was piping hot and melts in the out one of the best things to get and then we ordered pizza. It took a little bit for the pizza to be done maybe around 15 minutes but the pizza was really delicious. They enjoyed every bit of it and completed that, there are a lot of selections for pizza. We were certainly go there and enjoy the ambience was pretty supportive. You can call the sports bar too. read more

My son and I dropped in for lunch. I have heard great things about the food and it did not disappoint! We had cheese breadsticks, southwest egg rolls and we both got a pizza. Lorielle was our waitress and let me just say, WOW! She was awesome. She was super friendly, courteous and helpful. And she told us the history of the building! There is a bunch of paintings of musicians in there and the story behind them and the place is really awesome. I won't spoil it, go see Lorielle and let her tell you!! The dining area only holds so many people, but there is an outside patio if the temps are OK for you. I like the decor of the earlier rock n roll era on the walls inside.
