I love pizza, and I feel like it's one of those foods that's hard to mess up. After a few drinks with a friend, we stopped in here because we were hungry. My wife and I stopped in here tonight for the first time during Downtown Days. They had $4 slices, but there were a couple open tables so we decided to grab a seat and place an order instead. Because of the number of people and the occasion, it was super loud inside, but I don't know if it's that way all of the time. Yet another restaurant where our Gen Z server did not bother to introduce herself, but she was delightful, lovely and efficient. I ordered the house salad to get in a little green stuff before having some pie and it was quite substantial and delicious. We ordered the Main Street 18" pizza so that we would have enough to take home and we sure did. My wife and I both looked at each other after our first bite of this delicious pizza. The crust is very thin and it is almost a cracker crust, but not quite. It is definitely in the top three pizzas that we have in the KC metro. We may never eat Minsky's again. I tried main slice the other night because I was really craving pizza, and wanted to give a new place a try. I've had a really difficult time finding pizza places that remind me of home and had mostly given up to doing homemade pizza cause that was as close as I was gonna get. Then I just want a whim ordered from main slice off of the Uber eats app. Let me just tell you everything was delicious. I did have to warm it up because it was cool by the time I got here but that was no fault on the restaurant just time it took to get here. As far as my order, I did a half mushroom and cheese pizza with the other half being black olive, Italian sausage, mushroom and artichoke. It was fantastic! The second 9 inch pizza was salami and pepperoni, and it was extra extraordinarily delicious. It reminded me so much of a home that I think I'm gonna have to go down here in person and eat the pizza. Until I go sit at the restaurant, I'm gonna leave this as a. Four star review, but I'm sure I'll change it to a five as soon as I get there and eat inside. read more

This is my first time ever leaving a bad review. I usually don't believe in doing so, but this bartender really pushed me to it. The bartender with auburn/brown hair and bangs was one of the rudest people I've come across in a long time. She completely ruined my mood. Had the Farmer's market for the vegetarian side and the Mediterranean for the combo side. The charm of downtown Lee's Summit can be found alive and well if you choose to look hard enough and at Main Slice you will not be searching for too long. The hipster bones of a pizza by the slice joint in a downtown atmosphere can still be seen but, the pretentiousness has been stripped down. You immediately know you are in the downtown of a suburb and not in the beating hustle and bustle of the city center, the energy is more casual and the pace is slower but, that isn't to say that service isn't friendly because it is. Main Slice is big and spacious inside and it seems like a place where you are guaranteed to find a seat during the lunch rush on a weekday. Their beer selection on tap wasn't bad with a few local brews but, it is notable there wasn't a seasonal boulevard offering. The gist of the menu consists of pizzas however, if you are craving a hot Italian sandwich or a satisfying salad it had a few options of each to choose from. Also, the pies are all offered in a standard 10 inch, 14 inch and 16inch sizes but, the unique thing about Main Slice is that each day of the week they offer their namesake (slice's) in a variety of options. Last time I popped in it happened to be between the choices of barbecue chicken, my selection of the day , jalapeño popper, a very close second and a Hawaiian slice with the addition of jalapeños. I didn't regret my safe choice of barbecue chicken however, next time I am in I think I'll be a little more adventurous. Would like the commend our waitress for remembering my beer order even after only being in once before, made it feel like a neighborhood joint and that sort of ambiance is always welcoming. read more

I gave my initial review of Main Slice almost 7 years to the day. I figured it's time to update especially considering the consistent quality I receive from them. After a very unsatisfactory experience at another local Lee's Summit establishment the week before, I decided to hit up Main Slice in hopes that another local pizza shop could fill the pizza void I was having in my life. I placed my order online and ordered a double pepperoni and extra cheese large pizza. Main Slice's large is 18". After tax and tip the total was a little over $31. Around the same price I paid for my pizza the previous week at an aforementioned in another review pizza place. I happened to hit the restaurant at a slow time in the mid afternoon since I was able to get off work a little early due to the impending New Year. I walked in and was told my pizza still had a few minutes to cook, no big deal. The restaurant has plenty of TV's on the wall so I just bided my time watching some sports highlights. When the pizza came out I was in awe of just how large this pizza is. It had been about a year since I ate here and it had been years since I ordered a large. So my immediate reaction was joy out of how big of a pizza I was receiving. After I got home my wife couldn't believe how big the box was! I sat it on the stove and it took up the majority of the space. Then I opened it up......what a site! I paid for double pepperoni and extra cheese and that is what I got in spades! I have included pictures in this review because I want you to see what you get from Main Slice. They definitely make sure the pizza is cooked to order and you get what you pay for. I really like the large pepperonis they use and the crust is on the thinner side but sturdy enough to support the slice when you pick it up. The flavor of the whole pizza is phenomenal and I am always happy with my experience when I eat at Main Slice. If you want to support local PLEASE give Main Slice a try, you will love it. read more

This place used to be soo delicious. We used to love eating the pizza from this joint. Today we ordered a pizza, meatball calzone, and a side house salad. The side house salad was good. The pepperoni pizza and meatball calzone weren't terrible, but just weren't memorable. The pepperoni pizza tasted okay but not worth $20+. The crust didn't have much to add to the somewhat basic sauce and cheese. The pepperonis were good though. The meatball calzone was okay, but the meatballs tasted like they were grocery store frozen meatballs. The dipping sauce provided with the calzone and the sauce on the pizza were kind of sour. Growing up with New York pizza, I can be a bit of a pizza snob. I recognize that not all pizza has to be NY style pizza to be good and have found a variety of pizzerias across the states that deliver on the basic concept with traditional, cracker, deep dish, thin and flatbread crust renditions of one of my favorite foods. Looking for a lunch spot, I stopped outside of Main Slice to read the menu in the window. A guy passing by yelled, "that's solid pizza, dude!" Although the feedback was unsolicited, he's level of conviction had me intrigued. It was quickly decided Main Slice was going to be what's for lunch. It would turn out to be my best decision of the day. I wanted the meatball calzone right off the bat, but had to try the pizza, so I ordered a slice of cheese too. The slice came first and instantly brought back memories of the NY slices I ate as a kid. The crust was cooked to perfection with plenty of sauce and cheese. Folding it to take my first bite, my only disappointment was how quickly it was gone. The meatball calzone equally delivered with tasty and well seasoned meatballs, smothered in melted cheese and a robust marinara sauce. As for the service, I only know my waiter as "Server #23" or I would throw out props to him too. He was attentive and checked on me regularly throughout my meal (e.g. would you like your slice out first, is everything ok with your lunch, more soda, would you like a to go box, anything else I can get for you, enjoy the rest of your day, etc.). Thank you for doing your job so well. Who knew the NY pizza I've been missing for so long was right here in Historic Downtown Lee's Summit. Main Slice touts their pizza is "crafted with love." Best Pizza in KC area don't be distracted by fake cheese pizza places which is at 2/3 of the area Aka Minsky's,Summit,D'bronx, and Tims. Fake cheese is Provel which is clear when melted and ruins many pies. It's tied with Grimaldi's but occasionally is better been to both over 50 times. read more

This may be controversial, but I love a good Hawaiian pizza. It's probably because I grew up in Southern California, but pineapple on a pizza is a must. The main slice version is called the Maui. I love that they don't skimp on ingredients, but the pizza felt a little dry. We also got the Alfredo pizza, and again, I wish there was more sauce. The flavors were good, and the toppings plentiful. I also loved that they have a thinner crust, but wish it was a little crispier versus soft. This also applies to my thoughts on the cheesy bread. Definitely cheesy, good flavor, but a little too soft for me. I like a little contrast in texture when it comes to the crust of my cheesy bread or pizza. I would still try the place Another time. I am curious about their strombolis and homemade soup. I noticed that their menu has a rotating daily slice schedule, which is a great way to try their specialty pizza options without getting a whole pie. read more

I had liked this place before, and had thought I had left a positive note for them years back, but I guess not. I used to like their calzones but prefer others elsewhere because they use really big chunks of pepperoni inside. The salads are still pretty delicious, particularly their "Harvest" pizza, which I highly recommend. Unfortunately, as far as their pizza goes the experience twice in a row now has not been one that I would recommend. So, back in August I had ordered a Main Street pizza with extra cheese for pick up. When I picked it up, I noticed that it hardly had any toppings and was basically thrown together. When I called and spoke with the manager, he apologized and offered to make a new one, and he did and it was perfect. He explained that new helpers in the kitchen weren't well trained yet, and had failed to make a better pizza for me. He also gave me a $25 gift card for me to use next time. I did decide to order and use my gift card this week and again, either the same person made the thrown together pizza or one who wasn't well trained. The pizza again didn't have the extra cheese that I paid for. The Harvest salad again was good, but I can't return to a pizza place for just the salad. read more

I tried Main Slice for the first time today. I ordered delivery using their website. The order was placed around 5pm and I requested a later delivery at 7pm since we had company planned for that time. At 7 I received a text alert that the driver was on his way. At 7:30 we called to see if there was a problem. At 7:39 the driver finally arrived with $74 worth of cold pizza and calzones. We had to get out a pizza stone and hear everything back up to make it edible. This first impression from a local business was less than ideal. Pizza in the KC area is pretty weak. I've lived in Parkville for about a year and a half and still haven't found anything I really like. I was in Lee's Summit with my son and we needed to find some place for dinner and I'm really glad we chose Main Slice. Really solid pizza (especially the crust) and a menu with lots to choose from if you're not a build-your-own pizza kind of person. Updating my review several years later! This is now one of our favorite local restaurants! We have supported them several times this past year, even ordering a ton of pizzas for our office lunch. Similar to what other people are saying, adequate service isnt there, I wish it was because the food was actually pretty good. From my experience, I called in an order, and was told 15 to 30 minutes so to me that's a weird estimate. Anyways nearly an hour later I'm still waiting. Total wait time was 56 minutes for a calzone. A calzone! They had me pay first or I would've left.
