I'm sorry....Lubbock has Chinese food now? Has he** frozen over?! That's literally the only explanation I can come up with for this insanity. And I say this as someone who has literally been waiting for this her entire life. Before I get into the specifics of what I ordered, I called and and took out food. There was a line for eating inside. They do the classic sign up on a paper outside and wait to be called thing. It looked very fun inside and the people I did talk to were very nice, but again, I didn't actually eat in the building. To the food! Sesame Balls: standard. Exactly what you would expect. My extremely not-expert guess is that these are not made in restaurant, just heated up. Red Bean Bao: cute, also exactly what you would imagine. The dough is about the texture you would expect for a bun that's been used to make a specific shape, light but not fluffy. A little bit chewier than freshly steamed bun (but it was takeout). I found these to be a nice amount of sweet. Chicken Bao: not my absolute favorite. Think classic meat bao with the thinner, tougher steamed skin. These just didn't have a ton of flavor for me, but I didn't really care after dumping chili oil on top. Spicy Wonton: looooooove. That's how I feel. Everything about these is exactly what I want in a wonton. Good balance of flavors. Honestly, not that spicy. Also, this is a personal preference, but I'm pretty sure they're using some sort of processor to do their meat filling which I prefer to mincing because it gives the wontons a silky texture when you bite in. Beef noodle soup: (aka, the reason I came). The hand pulled noodles were enough on their own to make this dish, but the broth also had a wonderful flavor. It's super fragrant - great mix of spices, but not overwhelming orange. Also, I asked for extra spicy because IMO there is no other way with beef noodle soup. The beef itself wasn't fall apart tender, so wild guess is that it was just boiled without searing first (but seriously, wild guess). It was great, 100% do try. This place is amazing and I hope the entire city shows up to support them. If any of this review sounds harsh, it was not all all meant to be. I just struggle to describe the food in understandable terms with the knowledge that this is the ONLY Chinese restaurant in Lubbock. Also, not going to lie, there's something of a sliding scale. It's not the best Chinese food I've ever had, and I've given worse ratings to better restaurants. But unless you're willing to drive 6 hours for Chinese food, this place is a revelation. All of this to say, thank you Fun Noodle House. I have been, not kidding, waiting my entire life for you. Maybe one fantastic restaurant at a time, we will finally stop the native Lubbock Asians from fleeing the city as soon as they turn 18 **coughs in hypocrisy**. read more

We ordered this when my daughters and their families were home for the weekend. We weren't sure what we were ordering, so maybe that's the food wasn't to our liking. A few of the family members liked their dishes, but most of us weren't fans. I see they are opening another location. God bless, I wish you well. This is the only place that serves legitimate ramen in Lubbock and it is SO good. The pork in the tonkotsu ramen was the best I've had anywhere! The restaurant is small and it can feel like you're being a bit rushed, but that's just the type of place it is! Reminds me of a lot of little restaurants in New York, both in its vibe and quality of food. We loved it and will be going back regularly! read more

I absolutely love this place. It's really cool to watch them make the noodles in house, right in front of you! The dinning room is a little small but it helps build the atmosphere. The food is great! Went for first time tonight. Wasn't very impressed. Food was " ok" but prices for husband, myself and grandson were way way outrageous. Over $60!!! 3 bowls of soup and 3 drinks. This place is a dumpling shop disguised as a noodle shop, with the catch being that the noodles are also excellent. I've had both the black garlic ramen and the tonkotsu. I preferred the tonkotsu, it's got a great, savory pork flavor. The black garlic ramen was more understated, but still great if you want a mild garlicy broth. The pan fried bao are the real show stoppers though. Perfectly soft with a crunchy bottom; the texture is perfect, even if you order them for takeout. The pork and scallion filling is juicy and delicious. The sauce that's served with them is a fantastic pairing, a little sweet and acidic. read more

Great place. We've been there several times because the food is delicious. It might be wise to call ahead of time just to make sure you get a reservation or ask to be put on the waiting list it's a popular place. However, it's not necessary to do any of that but the first few times that we went we had to wait since it's a little place and can get full fast. My FAVORITE restaurant in Lubbock. I eat here at least twice a month. I always get the beef tonkatsu and I swear that broth is liquid gold! The steamed bao is also soooo delicious! Very interesting concept and yes the noodles are made fresh. I really enjoyed it. For those use to dehydrated noodles yes these will taste different or even have a different texture. Visited this place tonight and it's good but I wasn't blown away. There was about a 20 minute wait, place is clean, service is polite and quick, food was fresh, but just lacked some flavor. Seemed more of a fad place for the college kids. I would visit again but it didn't leave me craving anything. read more

Fun Noodle is fresh food, great Ramen and amazing dishes. Comfort food at its best. You may have to wait a bit for a seat during peak hours for lunch or dinner on weekends, but it's well worth it. They are pretty fast on getting your food out though, so once seated you can get in and out with no problem. read more

I am vegetarian and ordered the vegetable noodles with sesame paste, which is described online as including "cucumber, carrot, edamame& green onion." Apparently it also contains meat. I found a big chunk of what looks like pork after already eating most of it. I thought it tasted "meaty," but I assumed it was just the sauce until I found the meat. I haven't eaten meat in 3 years, and my stomach is not happy. Please update your menu to be accurate. Inaccurate food information can make people sick. I don't want to give you one star because it's probably an honest mistake, but you should change the information on your online ordering menu ASAP. read more
