Highly recommend. I have been a few times over the past month and have been very impressed. The entire experience is great, though I would note that music is generally turned up a notch to high. The real star of the show is the food (as it should be). The chefs are highly skilled and consistently make the best fried rice and noodles in town. Meat is also great, although I would recommend steering clear of the chicken and opting for one of the steak options. Filet Mignon is something to behold. My wife and I were driving back to Levelland Texas from McAlester Oklahoma and decided to eat Oriental food in Lubbock. In a quick search, I noticed that most are suchi and noodle restaurants and we were wanting traditional hibachi. We narrowed down to two; O'Hana and Kobe Steakhouse. Since we had O'Hana in Levelland, we decided to try Kobe Steakhouse. Upon being seated, my wife noticed a man sitting across the dining room. She eventually remembered that he had worked at O'Hana in Levelland years back. Sure enough, it was the same guy who had moved to Houston for 10 years. We were astonished. This man is a wonderful chef. We had a great time, the service was awesome and we will be back. Thank you for an excellent meal coming in from the road. read more

I've gone 3 times (I accidentally deleted the pictures of the food. My kids have ordered hibachi shrimp and chicken. Adults have ordered hibachi filet mignon and scallops. I've also gone at lunch and dinner. I like the prices at lunch but like the noodles at dinner. I think this is the only hibachi place in town that gives you the ginger and mustard sauce (only other place I know that does that is Benihana). I like the added touch, as well as the rice and noodles at dinner. The food tastes good and the filet mignon is great. I usually don't order that at these restaurants but it's worth it here. I would definitely recommend this place. In 10 years of living in West Texas this one has been the best. The servers are friendly and attentive. I would say the only disappointment is the difference in who cooks for you. We've gone 3 times and gotten the same person twice, whom does not interact with you at all. It's disappointing when you take your kids there for the show and see another chef playing music and getting the table to dance. The other chef we had did interact a little but very minimal. He threw the rice for my kids to catch in their mouth and the steaming onion train but, again, when my kids see the other chef playing music, laughing, dancing, etc. it'a annoying when that's why I take them. I gather they assign that chef to bigger parties only. read more

The food was good and entertaining but the kitchen staff stood by the wall watching everyone in restaurant while they were eating. It was like we were the entertainment. The floor had food all over. From either customers dropping it or when they toss it and it misses their mouth. read more

Went during lunch and the service was average, had to ask our server for items he kept forgetting. Cooks do a pretty good job of putting on a show while preparing your food. We have been to other similar restaurants in other areas where the show is better. There is definitely room for improvement in the cleaning between guests. read more

First off, I need to say that I havent even gotten my food yet before needing to write this review, so I'm not going off of that. Why am I writing a review for a place I havent even eaten at yet? Boy, let me tell you. We came expecting a nice, calm atmosphere with maybe a bit of a show like most other hibachi restaurants tend to be, but this was totally different-- and not in a good way. We were seated immediately and ordered very quickly. Good, nice service. This is where the issues begin. First, the loud nightclub-volume music hit's me, but I'm very sensitive to auditory stuff anyway, so I thought it was a me issue. No biggie, I'll just wait it out? Wrong. The room only gets louder, and then louder, and then louder. Why? Because the chef across the room is a) yelling b) serving a bunch of college kids, but c) encouraging them to yell and scream as well. Not great if it's just once or twice, but it just keeps going. And when I think it's over and take my hands off my ears, it starts up again. It went on for at least 10 minutes until we nearly ended up leaving, but we had already ordered, so I'm currently sitting outside on the pavement-- writing this review before even trying the food-- waiting for the other person in my party to text that my food is there so we can eat and get out of here. We haven't even left the doors yet and have fully deciding we're not returning. Edit: It gets worse. On top of the chef guy yelling and screaming the entire time, cranking up the music, and all that horror show, he allowed a guest to hold and squirt that flammable oil container while he lit it on fire (seems like a hazard, but I'm no expert). Overall, the food was very good, but not worth the multiple homicide charges I nearly caught in there. read more

Honestly was one of my favorite places to eat and me and my family would come in once a week or so. Sadly they decided to charge my card with someone else's check! Then instead of letting me know what happened they "voided" that charge and then proceeded to charge my card AGAIN for my ticket. When I complained they just said "it will be back on your card in 3 or 4 days" $125 I'm out on my card and now I have to wait for my bank to process. The manager and the server they had talk to me are extremely rude. I never leave reviews but the way I was treated tonight was unacceptable and I will never be back. Not that they will care but I really loved it here and this really just ruined every good experience I've had. read more

Came here for the first time for my birthday. The young man at the host counter was kind and welcoming. Katie was our waitress, she was awesome. Quick service and gave us great recommendations. Also made delicious lemon drops! My husband and I got the dynamite roll, Phoenix roll & the Naruto roll. All of them were so delish and came out so fast. The food was decent for the price. The service was fair... Listening to the owner scream and degrade his employees is why I will never return. Little man Paul is a rude, unprofessional, ungrateful and hateful man who is in need of an attitude adjustment. It is very unbecoming to yell at your employees in the middle of the lunch rush in the center of the restaurant. What's even sadder is that after speaking with the other employees this is not an isolated incident. They let me know that Paul has a tendency of picking on the female employees. Apparently he's incredibly respectful and nice to all the males that work there but if you are a female he's gonna treat you like a second class citizen. read more

This was our first experience with this restaurant. Our server named Irma whom was very friendly and took our order promptly. We ordered the Eel roll, fried rice with scallops, and beef lo mein. The rice seemed some what over cooked. My wife didn't like that there was very few vegetables in the rice. We all enjoyed the eel and avocado roll and the lo mein. We noticed that most people order the sushi. I would have to say overall the cost for the steak is very expensive, but given the location this explains the pricing point. Sushi is priced comparable to other places. They have hibachi, but we didn't do that on this occasion. Really no specials or bento boxes. That may change over time. My wife wanted to give three stars. I think four is appropriate for the food quality and service. read more

The chirashi sushi pieces were a bit (just a bit) in the frozen side, but beautifully presented; and the shrimp tempura (with vegetables) featured medium sized shrimps, not x-large, thus, there seemed to be more vegetables than shrimp (the owners ought to switch the title to "vegetable tempura (with shrimp)." Sushi is one of my favs and Kobe's menu definitely satisfied my taste buds. I really enjoyed the Pink Lady and Miso roll. Service was good, forgot a few items but got them to us quickly. There aren't a lot of options for sushi in Lubbock, so if you have to get your fix, Kobe is your place. read more

My family and I were in town for a couple of days and while a hibachi grill is not my family's first choice when traveling, we rolled the dice. We were pleasantly surprised with good service and a tasty meal. For this reason, I give them 4 stars.
