I've gone 3 times (I accidentally deleted the pictures of the food. My kids have ordered hibachi shrimp and chicken. Adults have ordered hibachi filet mignon and scallops. I've also gone at lunch and dinner. I like the prices at lunch but like the noodles at dinner. I think this is the only hibachi place in town that gives you the ginger and mustard sauce (only other place I know that does that is Benihana). I like the added touch, as well as the rice and noodles at dinner. The food tastes good and the filet mignon is great. I usually don't order that at these restaurants but it's worth it here. I would definitely recommend this place. In 10 years of living in West Texas this one has been the best. The servers are friendly and attentive. I would say the only disappointment is the difference in who cooks for you. We've gone 3 times and gotten the same person twice, whom does not interact with you at all. It's disappointing when you take your kids there for the show and see another chef playing music and getting the table to dance. The other chef we had did interact a little but very minimal. He threw the rice for my kids to catch in their mouth and the steaming onion train but, again, when my kids see the other chef playing music, laughing, dancing, etc. it'a annoying when that's why I take them. I gather they assign that chef to bigger parties only.

Great sushi. The chicken fried rice was good and the portion was immense. Prices were reasonable. We will definitely return.

Never going back. Didn't even eat my food and they didn't even ask why. So sad since it used to be good. The chef ignored us and we asked questions and had dietary needs.

We've now been twice when we've come to Lubbock this year. We've got two teenage boys and when we come we usually bring a few others. The food and entertainment cannot be beat. Food is great and service is fabulous and fun. I'm sure we will be back for many years to come.

Another great dinner here at Kobe Steakhouse. Katy was our server/bartender and she is just great! Food was amazing as always.

I will give major props to the server, Mollie, and her manager for doing a phenomenal job resolving a minor issue with the order quickly, politely, and effectively. The atmosphere was fair with good music and humorous decor in the bathroom. The lights weren't for me, but others may like the statement. Where The Reserve was lacking was the food. The pepperoni pizza was pretty good, but again there are better options around town. It did taste like it had been prepared in a genuine brick oven. The tortellini was bland. The queso was good enough, but nothing to get excited about. The salsa was downright terrible. The chips were actually phenomenal. The margarita made no attempt to cover up the strong taste of tequila. The Chilton tasted like club soda and not much else. Lastly, some of the surprise fees made me feel like I was booking air travel or paying a wireless bill rather than getting a nice meal. The final charge was a few dollars more than what was shown on the ticket. I assumed this was probably due to a service charge for paying with a card, although I didn't see it with a quick glance at the receipt. In all fairness, I'm sure this was disclosed somewhere and I overlooked it. I have come to accept this as the way of the world now. Also, when we ordered the chips and queso, we were asked if we wanted salsa with it. We accepted the salsa with the assumption that it was complimentary. Granted, since we were asked, I should have assumed that there was a charge for it. The charge was reasonable, although wasted because the salsa was so terrible. I did receive approximately a 5% discount for the order mix-up, and I actually ended up with a free pizza as well. The service and attentiveness were truly exemplary. I would give this place a second chance if I were in the area, but I certainly will not go out of my way for it.

I was out having a beautiful night with my girlfriend. Life feels special when I get to spend time…read morewith her. As we were leaving our very special dinner date, we were driving through downtown Lubbock off Broadway when a place we had never seen before passed by the car window. In perfect unison and harmony, she and I said, "What place is that? Narrow Bar?" We had never seen it before. Was it new? Were we just blind all this time? Narrow Bar has been around. We truly have been blind all this time. Through my four years of college and then some, I had never heard of it. Tonight would change that. As I reached Avenue Q, we turned around to investigate. Narrow Bar is attached to the Wells Fargo building with, shockingly, a narrow indoor bar. The outside is what grabbed our attention: an expansive patio filled with a live music trio and young adults casually having a great time. Was this bar one of Lubbock's best-kept secrets? Having had a few drinks already, we agreed on a one-and-done experience to try this place out. We were handed an expansive drink menu listing four categories: classic cocktails, contemporary cocktails, signature cocktails, and mocktails. I immediately eyed one of my favorite cocktails, a Carajillo, while my girlfriend yearned for the IYKYK (a Porn Star Martini). Our server took our order, and it wasn't long before our drinks reached the table. My Carajillo came with one of those big ice cubes (an actual cube), which was awesome, and the drink itself was really well done. Their espresso cold brew gave it a strong coffee profile that wasn't as sharp as other Carajillos I've had, which I think benefited the drink, especially being mixed with the slightly citrusy Licor 43. As for my girlfriend, she was really excited for her martini and adored it, notably because it came with prosecco. The space is really nice on a cool Lubbock night as it faces the street of downtown Lubbock. The band playing was not a cheesy bar band but actually quite good, pulling some deeper tracks out of their hat, including "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The lead vocalist had this Steve Miller vocal inflection going on, so I requested any Steve Miller song, and we got the always enjoyable "Fly Like an Eagle." They had no tip jar sadly, but my hat goes off to you guys. It was a short experience, but a great impression enough to make us know we're coming back the next time I visit her in Lubbock. RIYL: A Steve Miller Band cover band that mostly doesn't cover Steve Miller Band songs

How can it be that I have not written a review for Narrow Bar yet? I mean 12 of the 20 pictures…read moreare from yours truly, so clearly I like the place. Narrow Bar is on point when it comes to their cocktails. IMHO they have the best Chilton in Lubbock. If you know you know. However where they really shine is with their focus on offering a wide selection of Bourbons and Scotch. They offer the usual suspects, but they also offer several allocations. Did I mentioned Narrow Bar also offers Clase Azul Repesado, Anjeno and Plata (I think that is the other one they have). Their salad is also excellent with or without protein added, however I recommend getting the dressing on the side.
