Beach Bros Sharing x Fun Zone Boat Company - The Ultimate Newport Beach Day We're excited to announce our new partnership with Fun Zone Boat Company! Start your adventure with a scenic harbor cruise aboard one of their boats, then take a short walk to your fully prepped beach setup by Beach Bros Sharing -- towels, umbrellas, chairs, coolers, and more, ready when you arrive. Fun Zone Boat Company offers the best fleet and value in Newport Beach, and we HIGHLY recommend them for anyone looking to enjoy the water in comfort and style. It's the perfect land-and-sea experience -- cruise the bay, then relax on the beach. Let Fun Zone Boat Company and Beach Bros Sharing handle the logistics so you can focus on the fun.

Haven't done this since high school so it was time. Combined the seal tour with the homes tour for a total of 90 minutes. Worth it. Fun little outing!

Great crew, tour and information. Always plenty of sea lions, dolphins and sights like houses, boats and beaches!!

We took the 45 minute boat tour in Newport Beach. The tour consists of enjoying the beautiful water but also seeing homes that belonged or still do to famous people. The highlight of the tour is the stop at buoy where the harbor seals hang out, make noise, and generally delighting the people on board. The captain has a lot of corny jokes and puns to lay on the passengers and we took them all in good humor although some were worse than I've been known to tell. Going along the jetty at a slow pace, you learn about the history of the area and then you get to where the channel opens into the Pacific. Shortly after this, is the seal buoy. The boat makes a large circle and you return to the dock in the 45 minutes as advertised. For me besides the buoy, the house owned by Marcy Cook was interesting. I had never heard of her (thank you, Google) but she has made enough money selling her math items that she can afford this house. Having in excess of 5,000 bears in a house seems to suggest a psychological problem, perhaps, but she does her thing. Losing one of those bears would just be unvbearable for her! OK, that'[s a sample of the captain's humor and they kept coming! I'd really recommend this tour. It's a relaxing 45 minutes and it's always nice for a desert rat to be on water!

Do not let your vacation in or near Newport Beach go by without taking a Sunset Cruise with the Fun Zone Boat Company. In fact, do not let your Life go by without taking a Sunset Cruise. Need to add a bit of spark to your romantic relationship--take a Sunset Cruise. Want to learn a little about the history of the area--take a Sunset Cruise. Want to give someone a great Birthday Present--take them on a Sunset Cruise. Want to reward your office--take them on a Sunset Cruise. There is a reason it's called the "Fun Zone" Boat Company and not the unhappy zone boat company. The unhappy zone boat is on Irvine Lake. We had the BEST experience on the sunset cruise last Weds. It's 90 minutes, they take you around Newport Harbor and point out all the homes and yachts of interest and then just in time for sunset they position the boat off the Wedge so you have an unblocked view of the sunset in the West. (see my pics) Then after that they take you to California Seal Buoy to hang out with the Seals for a while. (see my pics). All this for a very modest price. The folks operating the boat were nice happy people and unlike my last Sunset Cruise off the Coast of Somalia--they did not act like pirates and demand a ransom--they did politely ask for tips and we gladly gave. During these Corona Virus times they are limiting the 100 person boat to 25 people max (they told me) so plenty of room to spread out but limited tickets for each cruise. They let you bring alcohol on and food. But if you are drunk they will not let you take a turn driving the boat and calling the Coast Guard on the radio. (Just kidding!--about driving the boat and the radio.) The boat is equipped with Life Jackets and has one bathroom you should not plan on using unless it is an Extreme Emergency. Do not forgo going to the bathroom on land Before getting on the boat as if you are going on a Princess Cruise for a week. Parking is at meters on the street--Payment required up until 6 PM or at the paid lot a block away or at the Beach/Pier parking lot. We got dinner to go at Big Mex a couple of blocks away--not bad there--get the shrimp bowl. It is just a fun time so if you have not done it before--get on the boat and don't be a second late or you will "miss the boat."

    Dolphins and the Sunset Cruise

We took the 90 minute sunset cruise on a Thursday night. We had a family party of 11. Ages 79 (birthday girl) to 1.5 years. There was one other customer on board with us. We left the dock at 7 pm & headed towards the bell buoy to see the sea lions. Thank goodness because the younger natives were getting restless. Everybody loved viewing the sea lions (unless you're a local & know how destructive they can be). I was wondering why we were staying so long at the bell buoy instead of heading into the harbor for the narrated tour forgetting it was the sunset tour. While we waited for the sunset the captain named Jay put on soft tunes and some danced. He volunteered to take group photos of us. He allowed whoever wanted to drive the boat! Great fun for the Littles and adults alike. Right before sunset, arrived the dolphins! You've never heard such excitement! Brought smiles to young and old alike. As the dolphins played in our bow wake the adults watched a beautiful sunset. Captain Jay pointed out additional landmarks on our back to the dock. Iincluded the bear house with 5000k + stuffed bears and every bear & bare reference we could barely stop laughing. Everybody had a fun time and created special memories as each cruise has a way of doing. Even better you can bring food and drinks on board! Be sure to remember to tip the crew

Awesome sunset boat experience! Staff was super friendly and Omar got us all set up in advance for our big group!

This was a cool little trip on the water with an awesome, knowledgeable tour guide. We got great info about the harbor, houses along the harbor and some fun seal facts (not the artist).

We brought our own food and drinks.

I wish I could give them 10 stars! From Hank, to Captain Jack and Chad to the size and cleanliness of the boat, we want to say thank you so much! They were so helpful and anticipated our every need. The tour in the harbor was fantastic! I just can't say enough good things about our experience. You helped us make my moms 80th birthday one we will never forget!!

90 min tour was fantastic. The staff are great and did a great job providing info about the homes and history. We went on a gloomy day but the boat offers both outdoor and indoor seating. The boat was sanitized and we had 6 feet distancing. I enjoyed the last 45 min tour when we headed into the open ocean. We saw a few seals hanging out and we were able to stop the boat for a few pictures. Overall this was a nice tour around the bay.

We have taken the animal and celebrity home tours a handful of times now with relatives and family, and have been happy with the friendly service. The 45-min tour length has also been perfect for our children. Perfect for giving visiting folks a taste of Newport!

The person I talked to at Epic was very polite and most importantly helpful. He took the time explaining the different kinds of trips offered and the pricing breakdown for 3/4 day versus a full day. I was really glad they offered full service for lunch and beer since it meant I didn't have to do any work or shopping myself!! He and his friends went on a full day trip and fished Catalina Island. He said it was one of the best days he ever had other than being with me haha~ The boat looked brand new and fishing captain Jazz and the other captain Tim did all the baiting, hooks and gear so all they had to do was reel them in. They caught plenty of fish and my husband said they fileted all of them and ziplocked them for him and his friends. Very professional operation and we'll definitely be using Epic Charters again!!!

The company where we had planned to go was gone for the day, and we wanted to find another way to tour the bay without treking back to our cars and driving to another Duffy Boat business. I contacted Tim, who was working in his office. He was welcoming and friendly. He listened to my problem and offered to take our group on a tour of the bay in his boat. His girlfriend responded to the boat and they gave us a great price. They offered to take us out longer than we had planned so that we could see whales and dolphins; however, one of the girls started getting sea sick so we made it back to dock after a fulfilling trip. Tim and his girlfriend catered to our sick teen as if she was their own. They played music, provided drinks, told us interesting facts about the area and made it a great afternoon. I can't say enough good things about them. Everyone whom went, to include the woozy teen, said that it was a great activity. Thank you Epic Yacht Charters!

This tour, however, barely left the coastline. If whales could be seen that close to shore, I could have just stood on the beach and saved my money. The trip was advertised as 2 to 2.5 hours, but it only lasted about 1.5 hours. Most of that time was spent heading back toward the harbor, and then we sat near the harbor entrance for around 20 minutes just watching sea lions. I honestly don't understand why anyone should pay $50 per person just to look at something you can easily see from the shore. It felt misleading and disappointing. The boat never seriously attempted to go offshore, where whales are actually located. What made this even more frustrating was that I specifically asked the staff before booking whether we were likely to see whales, and they assured me we would. Do not waste your money on this tour.

Went on a 2 hour tour with Captain Erica and Molly, down in Newport Beach. They were absolutely the best. Captain Erica was knowledgeable and friendly that we were able to enjoy the whole ride. We saw a momma grey whale and baby and hundreds and hundreds of bottle nose dolphins. As Captain Erica said, we must have had lucky people on board to experience both on the same tour. Molly got some awesome and amazing shots that she was able to share with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the surfing dolphins that were created by the wake from our boat. The conditions were perfect, and the experience was worth every penny. We're already planning our next tour for the upcoming season and can't wait to book an Oxnard adventure with them. Hopefully we can get this dynamic duo again. Can't speak highly of Captain Erica and Molly. Total worth it. See you guys soon.
