Have you read the story behind funbox? The owner and his reason behind this? I could not- not go after hearing it. I will start by saying I had an issue with my reservation and the staff was extremely sincere and worked around my challenges without any attitude or reservation. I have to give massive credit to the staff who are mostly high school/college students for their level of professionalism and customer service skill because a lot of time this generation is labeled as entitled or doesn't care. I got here on a Saturday for the first session at 10:30 am and I thought it's the perfect day for this- cool and 80. Just as a disclaimer, you should wear comfortable clothing that is breathable because you're in for a workout. I have a 5 and 2 year old- it took my two year old a lot of time to get adjusted to it because it's not the usual bounce house we go to and so many colors and things to do, it was sensory overload. Not the fault of the business, just my kid in true two year old behavior. We got out of the fun box to get a shaved ice and ended up going to the "obstacle course" section of Fun Box which was a big hit for my two year old. He literally went through the obstacle 3 times (I was drenched in sweat as a result) My five year old loved it too- the only thing I would make a complaint against is that there were not nearly enough basketballs for the hoop area which is a huge hit. I get it if balls were lost or broken but it would've been nice if there were more balls. I read some of the comments about water getting stuck on the inflatables or that there were some dirty areas but truth be told, I go to a lot of trampoline parks with my boys and this is by far the cleanest one I have ever been too. Yes, there was a little water but you're outside, you will have a little bit of bugs or water here or there but that comes with the territory. We can't fault the owners for natural occurrences. I had an amazing time with kiddos and I wish I had gone sooner because it was a lot of fun. If you can handle the heat, I would highly suggest going in the morning because it's not so crowded and you don't have to wait long to use some of the amenities but be warned it gets super hot super fast in the morning and as a result, the plastic gets hot too so it's a little tough going down some of the material. There are some shaded areas that are so nice and welcoming within the fun box. Overall, a great experience for families! Highly recommend!! read more

This was a fantastic concept, and would have been so much fun, but the experience left a lot of room for improvement. It rained the day before, and the crevices were puddled with water, but as long as you watched where you were going, you didn't step in it. It was very hot, which allowed your socks to dry out fast. but unbearable without the purchase of snowcones. They can't really control the weather though. That said, it was as clean as you can expect an OUTDOOR bouncy house to be. No bugs except typical flying ones. Staff was all around in different areas, I'm not sure what they were supposed to be doing, but they took up all the shaded areas, so the kids couldn't even go up some of the towers. I made a quip about it to them, but we were about to leave anyway, so I didn't ask them to come out so the kids could actually play. I was very annoyed by this. It was not crowded at all. Front staff and snowcone staff was super friendly, and the bounce house itself is amazing. Cost of water and snow cones are pretty typical of any "event-type" place, so I wasn't surprised and they gave you a ton. I had the kids eat some, and I sat with it in the tent as they went back and forth playing and getting a few bites of snowcone, and it lasted nearly the entire 1.5hrs. I also was smart and brought my own ice water in an insulated water bottle..... it was fine! Areas of improvement: -staff taking up all the shaded areas in the bounce house- this itself deserves a 1star rating - honestly. -Maybe some industrial fans? To move the air a bit? Not sure how it would work in a bouncy house. Or leaf blowers to dry up the areas especially the "locker room" which smelled super moldy. Overall, it was an experience, and so much fun! I was a little weary at first to go here because I didn't like the fact that parents had to pay an entrance fee as well, and you were limited to only 80 minutes of playing time. Well, my husband and I ended up jumping around, climbing, sliding, and going through the obstacle course along with my boy. AND because of that, 80 minutes may not have been enough for my son, but it sure was enough for us! We did the last time slot, and it was not so crowded. I took my 7 year old with a friend on closing day. He had been wanting to go all summer, but I couldn't find a good time because i heard it got insanely hot on sunny/hot days or disgustingly wet on rainy days. We finally had the perfect slightly cooler, dry fall day before saying goodbye to Funbox for the season. I bought passes online and also got their slip free socks. They were way too small for a 7 year old so I would pass next time, although think regular socks are probably fine here. They had a great time jumping in what appears to be the biggest bounce house ever. It was a great way to kill a few hours. It was a little dirty, but I guess to be expected for a bounce that's outside and has hundreds of kids in it daily. I stood between the 2 ways to get in and out. I was a little nervous that we'd lose them, but with the exception of emergency exits think there's really only one area for them to enter/exit. I'm not sure I'd let a pre-schooler in their on their own though. They do have another little area for smaller kids though- looked ideal for ages 2 & 3. My son and his friend came out complaining that a few older kids got a little rough with them inside so definitely important to keep an eye on them, but overall it was a good experience. SUPER fun!!! (But also expensive) My son and I had a blast, though. Everyone there was in a good mood and having a great time. Here are some tips: Do not go the day after a major rain. Sign up for early morning or evening slots bc it's gets HOT in there!!! (We went at 4:00 and I waited for a day when the high was less than 79). If you have grippy socks, wear them. They sell "grippy" socks...but they aren't super grippy, tbh. BRING WATER-otherwise, travel light. Wear shorts with zipper pocket or those leggings with the pockets. I suggest 1:1 ratios for adults and kids if possible. For adults-the big yellow "hill" is hard to climb. The key to getting up there is to go slow-not fast-and don't take a running start. The ticket prices are steep, I won't lie, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. BUT, it's just one of those things that seemed worth it to me and it was. :) read more

Misleading info. Expensive refreshments! The confirmation states 90 minute session however they usher guests out after 75 minutes. They say "no shoes" but neglect to say socks are required. They say socks are available to purchase for $3 per pair, but they actually charge $4 per pair. The snow cones are $7 each with way too much shaved ice for small children (their target demographic) and no smaller size available. Cold water from Costco $3 per bottle. Total cost was approximately $80. All that said, my two grandsons (age 2 1/2 and 5) had a great time. read more

I've gone to a few of these bounce park events and was underwhelmed after our last event at Bounce the City last month. After advertising the world's biggest bounce park, I was sad to see it was only 2 main bounce areas and a tiny additional one for toddlers. Of the main ones, there was an obstacle course (ideal for 3-12 year olds) and an extra-large arena with slides, climbing structures, and a very large bouncing pillow hill (that was too big for small kids to climb). Unlike Bounce the City, there wasn't a live DJ or any active engagement with the crowd. The staffing was minimal and mainly to supervise the tall climb in the big structure, but otherwise sparse. The nice differences, however, were the provided (non-locking) pocket cubbies and carpeting around all the inner areas. read more

Great place for kids to go wild and have a great time! The team was amazing and were very helpful. I recommend getting the VIP tickets it's worth it. Snow Cones were delicious! What I loved the most was that there is two seating areas for the parents to sit and relax. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Dirty! Unorganized! Painful! We had tickets for 3PM entry, you only get 80 mins or have to pay more. 3PM they were not letting people in, 3:15PM after all of us complaining, they made announcement and we got to go in. It was wet and dirty inside. My niece and son got large burns on back of thighs from going down the side. We left after that. We paid $80 to experience a gross, painful 30 mins. read more

However the experience doesn't match the price point. $100 bucks for 1 child and 2 adults (regardless if you're jumping or not; you're required to pay an admission fee). $7 bucks for ice cones?? My experience with Funbox bounce house was very interesting. Upon arrival me and my family was very excited to experience this oversized bounce house. But instead we was with a wet experience. Cold, wet, nasty bounce house. Everyone was complaining about the amount of water that was in the bouncy house. We were not at a water park but it sure felt that way. As a company if it rained the night before, then, they should've vacuumed the water out before guest arrived. Because of this we had a horrible experience and will never return. If I could give zero stars I would. Please be aware that you may be meet with a wet experience when you arrive. The reason for why I am writing this review is because the lack of customer service that was giving to my group and I, the lack of keeping the facility cleaned without any rain or water that was left in the bounce house, and also the fact that there was clearly nothing anyone was doing to compensate for all five of my groups sock getting completely wet and could have given replacement socks. So first let me start off with the lack of customer service at the facility. There was only one attendant standing at the entrance of the funbox which is ridiculous because two other groups of four had come up to the entrance where they hadn't even signed there waivers to get into the facility so then the employee is trying to multitask on two groups of five's phones where they can go sign the waiver. The fact that the families couldn't even read there own email when they either bought tickets for the event or not to mention that when you buy tickets through the website for the funbox, that when you complete your purchase, there is a screen that says you must sign a waiver at the bottom of your purchase invoice. So anyway, she's helping those two groups which clearly the kids over the age of 6 years old being loud and screaming wanting to enter the bounce house, then finally gets to use and we just walk on up and show the QR scanner of our tickets and lets us walk by on the account of only one person had there waiver signed. So we went in and literally there was no help to start us off or instruct us where to begin and all employees sitting on there phones or talking to one another instead of watching the kids jumping around either fully tackling one another or possible injury. At the end of that issue, I clearly will or wouldn't want to deal with going to it again. The second issues was the lack of keeping the facility cleaned with bugs that had landed on it overnight from rain and water that was left in the bounce house though not drained. I would say on a percentage of how much rain that was left over inside the bounce house from the previous night with how much rain there was, that it was about 65% covered all areas of the bounce house which let alone it being 85 degrees outside that the sun probably helped dry it off though if you can down a slide or something else that you were sliding into a puddle of hidden water. Thats bullshit and clearly no one cared of the fact that they should have inflated the whole bounce house early in the morning and evacuated all the water out with blow dryers or something else. The other issue was the that there were fruit flies or small bugs that had been inside the bounce house when they deflated it overnight and didn't clean or powerhouse the bounce house in the morning when they should have inflated it as of 8am, to then dry it all out of water and clean all the bugs out of it. So, overall that is sloppy management and poor care of your facility which should have been watched of which for what your charging for adults at $15-25 and snow cones $8 dollars of which they practically ran out of flavors on is bullshit in a hand basket. The third thing was the lack of compensation for are personal socks getting fully soaked in water and that for almost $70 dollars and a being rushed out when we bought for a ninety minute session after only being in the bounce house for about an hour, that it wasn't worth the money and should be fully reimbursed of which considering the fact that the bounce house will be closing down or leaving OLD ORCHARD MALL at the end of the month of september that there isn't alot to even try to come back another time and use it again. ABSOLUTELY PITIFUL AND BEYOND BULLCRAP OF AN ADVENTURE for all skokie residents or people from around to come to and its that UNORGANIZED! read more

Beware that if it rained overnight, the bounce houses will be wet and puddles will form. Even though it was a sunny, hot day. That's what happened to us, and it was pretty useless to even wear socks because they got soaked even walking on the fake blue turf before we got into the bounce house! I was so grossed out by all the murky puddles of feet juice that I couldn't enjoy myself. Kids had a blast, though! It's also fairly easy to lose a toddler unless you are following them every step of the way. I'd say for safety reasons, this place is better for kids 7+ because there are lots of big kids jumping and even super heavy adults walking around that can easily make a small kid lose their balance. We really enjoyed how unique and fun this experience was, unfortunately it had rained the day we went so there were puddles in some of the areas, an obstacle course was not useable...a partial refund should be issued if the entire facility is not accessible. Overall review of FunBox: Disappointing, It was a one-and-done experience for me. my positive was it did get a bunch of energy out of my kid making a easier bedtime. Key takeaways: Time limit: FunBox did not adhere to the 90-minute time limit and kicked everyone out after 60-70 minutes. Concessions: The concessions were lacking and expensive. Poor parenting: There were a lot of poor parenting decisions, such as having babies in arms and toddlers jumping in areas where they could be badly hurt by older kids. Amir Matarieh senior manager finally responded to my email after SEVERAL attempts to contact them. He agreed to refund my money as of 12/08. He has since stopped all communication and I still have not received my refund. They are not even listed on BBB to file a complaint. Please don't waste your time or money. Unprofessional and unorganized. There are no age specifications anywhere and you don't know what's for little kids and what's for big kids. My 3 year old was in areas that were unsafe and should not have been allowed for 3 year olds. But there are no signs and no one working inside of ANY of the floats. In one of the slides there was an adult sleeping who I wondered if that was an employee. There are a lot of kids just running and jumping recklessly so if you do go you will need to be inside of these bounce houses to protect your kids. read more

Went opening weekend 2024. The rain the day before really created a mess. Mulch blown into the course, puddles of water everywhere on the bounce area. I listened to the feedback and waited for a day it hadn't recently rained and it wasn't super hot. Despite the weather not being super hot we got hot from all of the bouncing! I was pleasantly surprised that on some of the more "dangerous" attractions there were staff members supervising. Some were friendlier than others and most didn't have any kind of identification that they were staff but there was supervision inside. My kids (4 and 7) both LOVED the park and didn't want to leave (thank you for having timed tickets and a 75 minute max time). We had to drag our kids out. A few things that I didn't love- it was a cluster trying to get into the park. It was very unorganized, the queue wasn't well signed and there was only one person trying to both sell tickets and check in those with existing reservations AND check wavers. Second- despite it not having rained the place smelled SO MUSTY I was nauseous almost the whole time. The shoe area was straight up disgusting and there was still somehow water along the creases inside the bounce house. Last- it was stated that socks were required but there were so many people not wearing them which probably added to the putrid musty smell and no one even attempted to enforce it. Concessions were expensive - they only had a sad excuse for a snow cone or a very expensive bottle of water. My two year old loved it! At first he needed to get used to the floor but he loved it once he got used to it! He was jumping and running all over. It was a fun family outing! It had promise, and the kids had a decent time. When I asked my 6 year old what she thought, she said "fun" with limited enthusiasm. When I asked my 9 year old, he said "average. And it was hot." We went around 4:30 and it was 82 degrees at the time. When someone came onto the speaker to announce 10 minutes before session-end, neither of the kids seemed upset about it.
