I've been going here for many years with family, friends, or alone. The park has improved greatly in its appearance and events in the past years and is looking to improve further. It has 16, soon to be 17 coasters making it one of the best places in the world for amusement rides for families and thrill seekers. The only complaint is this season the maintenance crew is understaffed leading to one train on a couple rides which should not be happening by almost July now. Overall great experience and leading into further improvement but beware of long lines so go on weekdays and if on weekends get there at 10:30 for opening and stay till close read more

ALL TICKET SALES MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE. I had a small fanny pack with my valuables which this park does not allow on any rollercoasters which does not make sense. I had no issues wearing the same fanny pack all day at Cedar Point amusement park on Memorial Day weekend. Cedar Point park allows fanny packs on all except three extreme roller coasters (free lockers with your own digital PIN number are provided at each of them for security). I have a Six Flags Prestige season pass in order, to visit their various parks across the USA. I paid $18 to rent a huge storage locker to keep my tiny valuables (keys, credit card, drivers' license and cash). Meanwhile, I still had to carry a fanny pack to hold my cell phone (with my Fast Lane pass) and sunscreen then pray that nobody would steal my fanny pack from the free storage bins located on each roller coaster's platform. At Cedar Point park, you are given a Fast Lane (FL) wristband to scan at each ride to bypass the regular wait line. I like the FL wristband much better than being forced to carry a cell phone all day and hope my cell phone battery will last until 10:00 pm closing. All their roller coasters were awesome with my favorites being X Flight and Raging Bull. Majority of roller coasters were operational except Viper which was closed. The Superman roller coaster ran one car only so, I skipped it. The small wooden Goliath roller coaster surprised me with a great ride. The incredible wooden American Eagle roller coaster was operational with both cars (red and blue) racing each other. The massive swinging pendulum (Sky Striker) scared the hell out of me when it reached the highest level. All the park's employees were nice. For my $25 single meal deal voucher, I received a double cheeseburger with waffle fries which were excellent. The cheeseburger was perfectly juicy. The drink refresh package was terrific - you choose between receiving a wristband (to receive a paper cup) or souvenir plastic bottle and are allowed a free refill every 15 minutes. I liked the red souvenir bottle as it was easy to receive a free refill all day and I primarily drank water. The souvenir bottle is nice to use at home or please recycle it in the park's recycling bins. read more

I have been to this park at least 20 times throughout my life and I have never seen it in worse condition than I did today. Multiple rides were shut down for a good chunk of the whole day. Viper, American Eagle, Batman, X-flight, and Superman were all only running one train which significantly increased the wait. We also found some annoyance with the new fast lane system with a more disproportionate priority given to the people with regular, single use fast lanes and ada entrance riders. This also impacted the already insanely long waits for the general queue on top of the one train ops and congestion from so many rides being closed. We also found staff more strict on assigning rows to riders which is unfair if somebody waits in line for so long and can't choose their row, and can cause empty seats due to backup and other issues and is overall less efficient than people choosing their own seats. I have always loved coming here and found the operations to not have any major issues for a long time. It is so sad to see a park that used to have outstanding operations and service that put other parks to shame being ran so poorly now. After Memorial Day the park should be running on all cylinders, but it barely seems to be even acceptable to operate right now. I think it is embarrassing that the management higher up is okay with having a stellar park with world class attractions being ran like this and I hope the company realizes the areas of their failure and brings the standard of quality back to what it used to be. This is not the way the park should be starting off their season, especially on its 50th year. Two stars. read more

Long lines to get in but it went fairly quickly. If I have a complaint it would be the outrageous food prices. $17.99 for 1 slice of pizza? $12.99 for dippin dots? $85 for 2 of the refillable pop cups. The longest line was Ruksasha, at 2 hours long. Everything else want bad, Superman was 40 minutes. The flash was quick. read more

I love this Six Flags. The waits are a bit long and while we were there one of the rides shut down in the middle of our wait for it. Everything inside food-wise is overpriced. Love this park however here's the issue and be careful, I purchased the ultimate pass instead of the priority pass the ultimate is 200 the priority is about 100. Apparently the part doesn't communicate when you buy the flash pass, and does not communicate to the flash pass personnel working the line that your ultimate pass could or could not take priority over the priority pass. So basically nobody in the line knows who is to go first and who is to not. People in line were told by people have flash pass that if you have the ultimate you can go around the priority past people waiting for their green check mark to come up to go on the ride. Apparently regarding this the people at the ride had different information everybody was confused. I called the park to talk about this because I basically bought a priority pass for the price of an ultimate and was told that they can't verify my information they can't look into it I could have gone to get services which I wasn't even told about and was basically told well you use the product yes I did use the product but if I had known that they don't communicate the proper information to their staff I would have saved $100 and bought the priority pass. The person on the phone call was very rude and told me that I was wrong and I should have bought the priority pass instead. How was the consumer at fault when the retailer is giving their employees bad information given to the consumer be careful and be leery as to which pass you are purchasing I will be buying the priority pass next time as I don't trust they are communicating very well and effectively to their staff and then blaming the consumer for the issue. read more

Parking is the same cost as a ticket. Food was also overpriced for a meal it averages 18.00-19.00 for a sandwich and fries. They had multiple rides shut down and this caused huge wait times for the rides that were open. Almost every single ride was an hour wait or more. Extremely disappointing. read more

I was walking into the park with my friends, and this rude worker kicked us out. we did not know the rule that people 15 and below couldn't go in the park past 5, but we went in at 6:30 last week on Tuesday and no one stopped us. i get the rule, but we all spent 70 dollars each on this pass and we arent able to go and our passes are going to waste. this green haired worker was very rude, she was waving mockingly at us when we were leaving, and started pointing at us and gossiping because we didn't know this rule and weren't treated with respect. I am also a bit confused on why a group of 4 15 year olds cant go in the park but if a group of 12 year olds go at 4:00, they can stay until 10? I want this worker who shouldn't be working at six flags to have consequences for how she treated us. it is not how a worker at a children's amusement park should be treating children. read more

My friends and I walked into the park to get rudely spoken to and denied from the park because we were 15 years old. We understand the rule but why we're upset is because we were able to go into the park past 5:30pm last week. The green haired employee that dealt with us was very rude and said we were "ejected" from the park and once our ride came, she passively waved at us and pointed with her fellow co-worker. I feel heavily disrespected from this and the employees should either be suspended or fired. We were respectful and all of us paid for this just for it to be put to waste. read more

The absolute WORST customer service! We flew here from out of town. My husband tried purchasing tickets online and on his phone but the website crashed on both devices. He called Six Flags on the phone and they confirmed their website has been glitching. My husband ended up driving to Six Flags purchase two tickets in advance because he couldn't do so online after trying several times. He waited in the long line and tried to purchase on his phone again while waiting. When he got to the window, he showed the employee the glitchy website and they wouldn't let him purchase tickets two days in advance and turned him away. He was shocked how badly he was treated by parking employees, employee at the window AND even the manager! He left empty handed with a terrible taste in his mouth. We were initially so excited to celebrate an early birthday here and he was extremely excited because he hasn't been here since he was a kid and I've never been here before but after this experience, we will NEVER EVER come here nor recommend ANYBODY to come here. read more

I took kids there for a field trip yesterday (Physics Day) and for the first time in at least 15 years, the place looked nice! Concrete re-poured, paint jobs refreshed, workers in good moods! It appears to be returning to the glory of my childhood years (90s), and that makes me happy. read more

Six flags is a LOT! You can Def go in to sensory overload because of the large crowds. We arrived early but the park just gets so crowded, you can easily spend hours here if you plan on doing multiple rides. The staff is nice, but mostly kids. Food, overpriced and subpar. But, the funnel cake is unmatched! Love that there are multiple restroom locations. We were able to catch bugs and daffy duck right as we entered the park, which was nice! Six flags is a great time, just a ton of walking, so be prepared and wear comfy shoes. read more

Well it is amazing to finally make it to this wonderful place to celebrate Halloween it was very nice decorated and with scary performers to make the park a scary place. The rides I got to do were great. HOWEVER, Goliath, Wrath of Rakshasa, Demon, Maxx Force, and the log flume were all closed today at some point. I could see the maintenance crew. They were not on task or working hard at all. And a member of my part was not feeling well at all. The staff was not helpful.There were also good things. The customer service was horrible because we had to wait +30 min just for our fries with cheese on the side and there were like 3 people in line who got their food and we waited for so long. We also waited for an hour or more for the Aqua Man just to be told the ride isn't working. The only flag was a red flag! read more

I had a pretty great time at Six Flags great America. As with any amusement park, the lines were pretty long, but we came on a day where it wasn't super packed so for most of the rides, we were able to move through pretty quickly, but as it got later on in the day and the rain completely went away. The lines got a lot longer. There were certain rides that were shut off, but they didn't really even announce it so it was a group of us waiting there to ride and we just happen to ask someone like what was taking so long and they mentioned it when they could've just had a sign up or something saying that it was closed. Also, one of the bathrooms was flooded when we went in there and it didn't seem like any staff was around to close it off or clean it up. read more

I would give Six Flags- Great America a solid 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4). The rides at Six Flags are fun- great coasters, fun theming, and definitely will fill the desire for a thrill ride. I was disappointed that Raging Bull and Maxx Force were closed when I came to visit (my two favorites) However Goliath was a great addition and so much fun! The lines here can be obscene; I still get flashbacks to waiting 2.5 hours for Superman in 2022; since then I will only go to Six Flags with either a Flash Pass or if able to attend a private afterhours events with shorter lines. The park could use some sprucing up, better food (very expensive price point), and more entertainment for waiting in lines (whatever happened to Looney Toons playing?). All and all, I will be back, had a fun time, and would recommend Six Flags if you are in near / Chicago or Milwaukee but it would be tough to justify driving more than 2 or so hours to go to without having another reason to be in the area. read more

This park is horrible. Half the rides are down and the entrance poorly planned and managed. Bathrooms , eatery, and most shoppes are a dump. If you are a member , I am sorry they care about members the least. When I used to come here with my family (pre-high school), we were never allowed to eat anything or buy anything. When high school came and I had a license and a car, I got that season pass and still, never bought any food or spent any money at the park. Needless to say, the rides were awesome back then, no one had the internet in their hands, and waiting in line was an opportunity to hang out and meet people. This was in the early 90s. 30 years later and HOLY MOLY! The prices are completely outrageous, the lines are so long that you contemplate paying extra for a Flash Pass, and well, the rides are still awesome, but I'm too old and get vertigo, so I'm not really utilizing that part, but my son says he has many favorites. Here's the deal... if you like roller coasters and your family does as well, get the season pass and come out 2-3 times during the summer. You'll make the money back in parking alone. Regarding food, you can leave the park and hit Gurnee Mills for some good options and spend way less than if you ate in the park. The meal passes are a deal if you eat every 1.5 hours, but it's quite a lot to spend up front if you aren't a big eater. So be prepared to spend a fortune, but you can't put a price on memories. If you're not willing to spend the money on season passes, just skip this place and hit the mall. read more

Rides are always fun, but the service for food or dip n dots. I got dip n dots for my kids, it took over 30 mins to even get up to get my order placed. Employee was moving slowly on purpose. Took over 2 mins for her fill a cup up with ice cream. The ordered the Mongolian beef at Chop Six and when I say this was one of thee worst meals I have ver paid for that cost my almost $30 with a bottle of water. Rice was hard and the taste is just Do not recommend purchasing any food from this place. Pack a cooler and go back out to your car or leave and come back. Not worth the price tag. read more

It was an amazing park. I went for my 2nd time during Halloween and I loved it. The rides I had time to go on were amazing and the only long wait I had was the new coaster Wrath Of Rashaka and it was totally worth it. I also went on American eagle with like a 10 min wait and x flight with a 20 min wait and Batman with a 5. The food is not the best but the rides number it out. Let's just start off with how expensive everything is you pay like 30$ just for parking And guess what a bottle of water is 7$ for 1. -1. The rides are great long lines but that is expected at an amusement park. +1. Some of the employees are a little rude, my family has a season pass and we got to go in early to ride ragging bull and we have an ada pass so we go in thew the back of the line and get on like a flash pass, then we wait the time we should have waited in line out. So we went up to the exit of raging bull and they said that they were not doing ada passes right now even tho they just signed some body else's pass right before us.-2. Overall the experience is great just bring your own food to eat and stuff so I am still going to give you 5 stars because it's so fun to go to over the summer. read more

He was working at Raging Bull on 6/4/26 around 7:30. The reason why I would like to complement him is for his outstanding performance to his job. These teenage boys were cutting everyone and I told almost every worker there but only Rocky was the one to listen, however, there was this other dude who listened to me, but didn't put into action. We had a great time here last Friday, on the 50th anniversary celebration. Most of the rides were walk on or not long for waits at all without a fast pass. Overall, our experience was great and a few employees were really nice. The park was clean and I loved the music and sound system; you could tell great care when into that. I am giving 4 stars for one rude employee for no reason and some ride closures. I'm not sure why this is a thing now, but when we went to Cedar Point last year a few of the good smaller coasters like corkscrew and mean streak were down and when we came to Great America demon and whizzer were down. I know they are replacing the track for Whizzer but I do feel like Six Flags doesn't always think of the families that come and not everyone wants to always do the massive coasters and those don't ever seem to be down. I understand rides go down but it seems to be a theme to always have these classic coasters that my kids would love down and not sure if it comes down to staffing or what... but would be nice if that issue could be fixed for how much families pay to have the total experience. But to focus on the positive we mostly encountered very friendly staff. The ride operators waste no time and are prompt about getting people on and off efficiently. And all rides we went on more than one train was running so you can tell they are trying to fix the issues people complain about. read more

The weather was perfect and the park wasn't overly crowded -- yet somehow the lines were still long! Prices are outrageous, and honestly it doesn't look like much has been updated since I was here 10 years ago.
