I had no problem with the service I received from my provider, However, I had the misfortune of losing my health insurance when my prior employer sold off the division I worked for, resulting in losing my job. I enrolled in Medicare only to be told by FMI that they don't accept Medicare, and that if I still wanted an appointment it would cost me $395 out of pocket, which is ridiculous. Just when I needed them the most I am informed they don't work with Medicare - why? How can you call yourselves a Healthcare provider when all you really care about is the $$$ and not the patient? read more

They billed us for an expensive appointment for one kid rather than a physical and expect Us to pay $350. Every other time the yearly appointment was covered by insurance. When I made the well visits, I just asked for a different dr. for my one child who is now an adult. The 3 other kids were covered by insurance but they used some different code for my adult child and won't fix it. There was no need to even go to the dr. Just a yearly check up for us all. In the pediatric appointment, Dr. Brus was super rude when I told him the children's issues. He asked what I expected him to do in a 15 minute visit? I was told to make more extensive appointments if I want him to work with them. read more

Terribly managed, gross incompetence. This place should be shut down. My list of complaints includes: two misdiagnosis, incompetent practitioners, lost patient records, unresponsive staff, and poor billing. The first doctor I saw was very strange and would make odd comments and laugh to himself. He misdiagnosed symptoms from my first physical exam and referred me to another specialist. I will never forget he said "Oh My God" during my exam which freaked me out. So the specialist did an exam showed no abnormalities and cost several hundred dollars out of pocket. Then FMI lost the records from my FMI physical exam and also lost the results from the specialist procedure. On a followup apt, I was told the doctor had been removed because he was not fit to practice. They did not know where my files were so had to start over. The next doctor told me my iron was too high and not safe. I saw another specialist and incurred more expense. The specialist asked why I was even there as the iron numbers were not concerning. My iron was at the high end but reasonable and I did not have symptoms of an iron problem. The FMI practitioner lacked experience so they sent me away. Later I showed up at FMI for a scheduled blood draw and the office was closed. Waited a half hour past my apt. and someone finally opened the door and was shocked to see me there during normal business hours. I guess they don't want drop ins since they are not open unless they think they have an appointment. The problem was they had me scheduled for a new office they opened in Meridian and I had never been to. I haven't been back to FMI for 6-months, but within the last few month I received a bill for $15. I paid it then receive another bill for $10, just enough to be annoying. These are not pass through costs from a sub, just poor billing practice. When I call, no one answers the phone. Have to keep calling and sending emails hoping someone will call back. I am so fed up with the lack of professionalism from the top down. This company is a joke and I would not wish the pain they have caused me to be endured by anyone. read more

We just had a new patient/well child visit with Aaron Dykstra for our 2 year old. Aaron was gentle, caring, and personal. He was able to make our anxious baby feel comfortable and at ease. At the same time he performed a physical exam, went over his health history, and focused on current issues. Instead of medications for congestion and ear discomfort he suggested natural remedies to enhance the performance of body's inherent physiological tools. Aaron doesn't push vaccines and knows about harmful additives and negative effects. He treated us with dignity and kindness - I highly recommend this office and pediatrician! read more

I wanted to believe that this place would offer excellent natural and holistic medicine. Unfortunately, it's a billing mill. I can't recommend it. I had a 45-minute appointment to look at blood test results. It turned out my results were excellent -- still, the practitioner chose to talk about medical stuff unrelated to me for 45 minutes. I politely listened even though it didn't pertain to me and it wasn't what I expected going into the appointment, but then I saw that I was being charged by the hour! $400! read more

My terrible experience started with billing, scheduling being a NIGHTMARE taking weeks to get a call, and ended with provider, Jessica Santos. Billing had not bothered to determine that preauthorization was needed for a test. Luckily, I determined this. My labs were only covered b/c I insisted being sent to an in network lab. I met with resistance about this. I said, "I will make it really easy for you." "Either send it to the hospital's lab or I cannot be a patient." I still was approved to do a handful of labs only through their clinic and was quoted $132 or 138 I believe it was. I was led to believe I would not get a full picture without all the labs so I paid this. Then I consistently told them that the elimination diet was completely contrary to another severe health condition I have, particularly the part with 10--12 servings of vegetables a day when I am not able to have half that in an entire week. Also, many things that were eliminated are the very things that are survival foods for my other condition. So I spent most of the time very hungry. I initiating doing the elimination diet in hopes of learning a few things. This was not ordered by Jessica YET the night I was heading to the group to determine how to reintroduce foods (a group I paid $250 I believe it was, not covered by insurance), I was informed by her I needed to continue for "at least 3 more months." This was all based on a sensitivity test that was completely benign had very little wrong with it yet Jessica said "This tells me you have leaky gut." Each appointment, there was no end in sight as to when I was stopping a diet that was supposed to last 5 weeks. At one point, I was getting ready to go into 6 months on the diet. I told them I could not afford anymore supplements so instead of listening to me, they added new supplements for the so called leaky gut that amounted to several hundred $ a month and I was told to quit taking the detox supplements that up to that point were also very expensive and I thought were important--obviously not so important because she paused the detox supplements for unknown period of time I had spent months working up to all to do leaky gut supplements for findings that were much less convincing than the toxicity findings. I have now realized the test they ran that I paid $130+ for food sensitivity is not approved or believed in by allergy board certified doctors or associations. I have also now met several people who are or have been treated for leaky gut AND toxicity at FMI yet their tests did not support these conditions as in their findings were less convincing than mine and that was not why they went to them in the first place. It feels very cookie cutter type of treatment. In spite of every session mentioning that I cannot afford to continue treatments (Within my first 4 months at FMI, I spent what I normally would spend in 14--15 months on healthcare and my grocery budget was more than doubled), I found on each session note add'l expensive treatments notated as well as the the need to replace a great deal of my cookware (at least $400 to as much as $1500 per treatment). I was treated like I was 2 b/c it felt like orders were barked at me instead of letting me be part of the plan and I felt defeated after every session. Select people who have given good reviews for FMI have said those giving bad reviews seem to be all because of complaints about money. The absolute best Doctor's Office I've ever been to. My doctor is Amber Warren but have met with nurses and nutritionists here as well. The goal here is to HEAL - not just give you endless prescriptions and bad advice. I've been to Doctors throughout my life and have never been to one that's actually informed about the effects of nutrition on your health and healing. I really want to post a better review, but their customer service is going to be detrimental to their business. I got a notice saying that one of my services was no longer going to be run through insurance and that we would have to go through our insurance ourselves if we wanted to be reimbursed. That's fine I understand they need to do what they need to do and unfortunate as that is for their patients. I decided for my own needs, I would cancel the appointment because I could not afford to pay for that out-of-pocket and did not want to hassle with trying to get reimbursed from my insurance. I called to cancel within their allotted 72 hours before my appointment and no one answered so I left a voice message. I then followed up the day of the appointment because I still received a zoom link even though I had cancelled. Once again I had to leave a message because once again nobody answers the phone. Lo and behold a few weeks later I received a bill in the mail for being a no-show to my appointment. I have since called and left two messages for billing and sent two emails. I did get one response back by email saying the person who does was on vacation and it would probably be a week or two before she got back to me. It's been over a month I've sent another email and still have not gotten a response and received a second bill. This is beyond ridiculous and I don't understand how you can run a business this way. It's very unfortunate because I do believe they can be very helpful in healing the root cause of issues in people, but if this is how they run their business they're going to lose all of their patients. read more

I am inquiring about the NEW Policy Changes & Restrictions on Patient's entry to the Building,the requiring of masks and temp scans at the door according to the Policy page on website? I am very concerned by the direction FMI has taken to require such things upon the People. To coerce and essentially blackmail patients to comply or refusal of care/services.What now sets FMI apart from St Luke's? FMI has made a Corporate decision that promotes Segregation of Patient's into Two Groups, Masks Vs UnMasked, while Discriminating against Medical or Disability conditions that inhibit one's ability to Medically Tolerate a Mask, forcibly reducing the Individuals blood oxygen potentially causing further complications in order to receive Services & medical care in which they are seeking to Heal already existing ailments or wait outside apart from others with the assumption of being "SICK or INFECTED". How does this make sense, most of all how is this standard acceptable? What's Next, Forced Injection or proof there of to receive care? Being asked by the staff to wait outside felt so dehumanizing,unappreciated as a Patient as someone patronizing the Business and degraded to nothing more than a filthy animal. What accommodations are being made for those who cannot medically tolerate a Mask? Your Policy states you are following "CDC Guidelines", but what are you doing to Legally Adhere to ADA & HIPPA FEDERAL LAWS? Temp Scans in a Public area such as a Lobby is direct Violation of Medical Privacy stated in HIPPA. ADA clearly states that All Private or Corporate Medical Facilities and Hospitals are Not Exempt from these Federal Laws and must adhere to them. Quite possibly in Violation with Osha forcing Employed Staff to wear Masks without proper Safety Procedures and individual screenings. It also says that Masks are Voluntary. Not a terminatable offense for medical reasons. This can also be a Civil Rights discrimination liability.Patient's waiting outside is Unacceptable!What about Those like My Family who are Exempt?It is wrong to Accuse someone of being sick when they're not. While those words may not be said, it most definitely shows in the actions taken. True Health comes from Inside Out, Not the Outside In. Forced interventions by way of Coercion makes it very difficult to promote FMI as a True Health and wellness establishment when maks are forced upon you. I have always spoken in the highest regards of FMI and the Staff's excellent Customer Service. We appreciate those who are making it their mission to help assuste people in wellness from a Naturalpathetic perspective, but when you push fear and outside remedy it contradicts the push for supplements from within.If this were about RACE instead of in the name of HEALTH & SAFETY, it would be called out as Segregation and Discrimination, hence Civil Rights Act. This is the same thing just with medical perspective. Your website itself says that nothing medical is One Size Fits All, neither are Masks. The philosophy of FMI is to get down to ge root cause of an illness or chronic condition rather than just throwing pills at someone using the bandaid approach. Health from the inside could be used the same way. Encourage Immune Boosting methods which I know is done but masks cause or exacerbate conditions. A Suggestion would be to have a patients check-in for their appointment, then be taken directly back to a room available, UnMasked could be considered an Accommodation? YES. Telehealth is an availability, but should never be the Only Option for those declining masks as again its denying them the ability to be physically present in their appointments the person is paying for, having a personal face to face interaction with their Trusted Physician of choice where the "ROOT" of Trust is born. Let those who have been feared into isolation remain there and those who chose to live by Faith LIVE. There are ways to accommodate everyone evenly without demoralizing or dehumanizing your Patient's. Waiting outside in the weather or in the car was said to be an "Accommodation". Could be an Option as well, but, then to make the Patient hold a Mask up to their Face or forces to put it on fully after expressing the inability to tolerate them,just to walk through building back to the Private Room would be considered Coercion or force in such a way as to threaten the person refusal of services. This would be Unacceptable and constitute as mismanagement of Patient's Rights, which includes the Right to decline any Medical Procedures,Treatments, intervention and force upon the Body and medical neglect. Please consider what I have expressed with deep concerns and sadness. Myself and Others comethere for a place that is Liberty minded in an approach that is different from any Mega Institution that lines the pockets with Patient's Moneyseen as cattle vs Humans. Pediatric care is AWFUL!! Terribly disappointed. My husband and I had both seen practitioners at the Boise office and really enjoyed the experience. Our son had been having some stomach issues and since they had expanded into their meridian office with additional pediatric care we thought we would give it a shot. We had been under the care of another dr. so we worked with the office to have our sons info (labs etc) sent over. When I arrived with my son we had to wait awhile which was ok. Upon entering the exam room the Dr was talking to a nurse and clearly annoyed. Mentioned something about not being able to get out of town... the appointment got going and he was rude and gruff. He asked three questions in a row and when I answered the one he asked last (medical related) he basically yelled at me "No, I asked you where you're from!" It was borderline bizarre. I spent the next 20 minutes wondering if I should just walk out. I was on edge the whole time due to his rude demeanor and he didn't seem like he was really listening. I regret not just walking out he was so rude. He also asked a lot of questions in front of my son I found weird.... questions that you'd probably ask a parent privately. Questions about home life etc that if there were issues, it might be awkward for parents to answer right in front of a kiddo. Also, when we spoke to the office to confirm the appointment we asked again about the other records being transferred. They stated that they'd make sure they had them. We mentioned that was very important and to let us know if there were any issues.... of course they had NO records. I get that it might be the other dr offices fault, but we walked in there only to encounter a clearly angry and distracted dr. Don't waste your time. We filled out a survey about our terrible visit and of course heard NOTHING! Absolute waste of time and one of the worst medical experiences I have ever had. read more
