Lasermaxx has a great looking set-up, friendly, energetic and hard-working staff, and I love that they give kids credits to play arcade games while they wait for their turn in the laser tag maze (which is really well-constructed, super fun to play in, and nicely decorated, making for an immersive experience.) Our experience would have been five-star if only they had rules in place to ensure a proper ratio of adults to children. I took my 13 year old and his best friend, and alongside us was a group of about 20 children celebrating a 7th birthday party, with kids ranging from 4 to 8 years old, with only ONE adult accompanying the whole group, which wouldn't even be sufficient in a daycare setting, let alone a dark laser tag maze. Our group had 27 people in it; me and my two teens, another unrelated dad and his teen, and one woman with all the rest being her group of under 8 years old. These children were helpless, several came to me (a complete stranger) to help them put on their gear because they were too small to do it themselves and the adult with them was clearly overwhelmed just in the prep room and these games are tightly timed so the group needed to get going. Once inside, instead of being able to play with my son and his friend, I found myself having to help children who would come to me as the only adult in sight to referee their fights as they would hit each other, accuse each other of cheating (which many were, to be fair they were too small to both understand the rules and self-regulate) and at least twice had to provide aid to a child who had hurt themself or who had been pushed by another child. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience, the place is really fun, but if you are not going with very young children I would recommend going outside of prime birthday party days/hours. read more

We had our sons 7th birthday party here and it was really well done. The employees were efficient and calm. We had one of our guests get nervous and scared and they totally calmed him down and talked him through it and by the end he was super excited and pumped. My only "complaint" (not really because it was so well organized) is that it was pretty chaotic in there. And as a parent looking after so many kids, I would have liked some kind of order or waiting areas for birthday parties while we wait tonn by play. We didnt get the party room until AFTER the game, so we couldnt set anything up, or have a proper place to keep presents. I was fully aware of the process before hand because of how organized and efficient the process was. Communication was great. The waiver page was great for keeping track of guests. we had a ton of fun!! Pokemon Trainer was pretty incredible too. He deserves a shout out. read more

This is a really fun place for laser tag. I visited the place with my wife and 5 year old boy. We had a blasting time. The only issue I have was the timing of the pizza delivery. We ordered 3 missions for 3 people with pizza and drinks as add-ons. We were expecting to have our pizza in between the 3 missions because we were very hungry and this would have been a nice way to help digest all those carbs. But we were forced to play all 3 missions consecutively without taking a break and having pizza! So I was very hungry and grumpy in the last mission and didn't really enjoy it as much as I would have hoped. Besides the above issue with food, I would highly recommend this place for laser tag and for birthday parties. I think I will have my son's birthday party here. Overall, it was a very nice weekend family activity here in Ottawa. read more

My 9 year old and his friends had a blast at during his birthday party that was held there. the venue took care of the pizza, drinks (1 per kid) and cake, including paper plates, cutlery and candles. I liked the online booking, online waivers and that rebooking would have been easy to do online. I also liked that a staff member called during the week leading up to the party to confirm details. For parents, the venue is noisy, not super clean and is dated. it could certainly use a revamp and a solid cleaning. There is 20 mins between games, so I would recommend bringing drinks for the kids and getting plenty of tokens to keep them busy with the games. I also would have liked it if there weren't adults playing at the same time as kids, but I guess I could have paid for the highest end party and rented out the space for our sole use. read more

Customer service was excellent, both on the phone and at the location. One of my son's party guests was quite bothered by the volume of the loud announcements being made. The manager immediately checked in with us and turned down the volume to see if helped. The staff also offered for the child to stay in the VIP room until our turn to play. They checked in frequently and made sure he was okay. Just before our turn there was going to be one more announcement, the manager gathered our group and told the whole group to cover their ears and he stood with us with his ears covered too. I thought it was sweet that he made it so the one child didn't feel like he stuck out from the rest. These little things all helped to allow the child to stay and enjoy the party with everyone. this is business I brought my kids to LaserMax and they had a great time -- the staff were friendly and the games were fun. However, I wanted to share one piece of feedback. When paying for the booking, the system asks for a tip. I understand tips at restaurants or cafés, but in this type of activity, as a parent, I'm not receiving a service directly, and it feels a bit uncomfortable to be prompted for a tip before anything even starts. I believe the employees should be supported and paid fairly by the business itself instead of relying on tips from customers at the booking stage. It would feel much better if tipping was optional and only offered after the experience, not during payment. This is just honest feedback, shared respectfully, because everything else about the visit was positive. read more

Came in for a Birthday and the staff were very welcoming. They were energetic and seemed to enjoy working there. In our second game the first group had left; they were playing weird as 4 boys had 100 points (I'm assuming you can't go lower) where one had 20,000ish (I got around 2,000) so I'm assuming they took advantage of the game. Not the place's fault. In the second game we were offered to play against one of the employees in a FFA for free games, which was a nice touch as we were the last game of the night. We didn't end up winning, the employee beat our highest scoring player (Me) by about 4,000 points in fact! All in all it was a fun experience, and they were advertising their overnights the whole time, which it does seem like a lot of fun to participate. Would come again. read more

My nine year old had a blast at her birthday party this past weekend. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My reasoning for one star off: The front area was extremely loud and chaotic (unavoidable I suppose). I'd love to see different colour name stickers to differentiate party groups. The midway games weren't great as they kept eating the kids tokens that I purchased. (The birthday girl also never received her free tokens and I forgot to ask before we left). The party rooms were very small and to cut the noise and close the door meant there was no air flow and the room was very warm. And finally, I wish they had more bathrooms or a hand washing area for the kids before eating their pizza. Overall, it was a good experience and we'll definitely go to play again. read more

The kids had a great party. Customer service for booking and dealing with covid requirements was 100%. Coming into the location wasnt sure if all parents had to wait outside so I believed we may have delayed the party by all waiting outside. Children played back to back games and had the party room for 1 hour. They might have been a delay with the games and only had the party room for a rushed pizza, cake session for 25 min. From me running up and down looking for staff to bring the cake feeling rushed. I was offered to keep the room for longer but parents had been advised of pick up time. So I had to rush and brake up the party. I think in the future they need to be more consistent of the scheduling of the activity taking place. read more

This is the second time we have done a party for our daughter at LaserMaxx. The guys are professional, kind, and super honest when it comes to finances. I had booked a party for 12 guests. It turns out 8 people showed up. They were quick to adjust how much I had to pay, no questions asked. My daughter and her friends had a wonderful time both at the game and at the room reserved for refreshments and gifts. The guy who assisted us with the pizza and cake was fabulous. The only suggestion we have for the place is to please add a garbage can for recyclables in the room - we cannot throw in the same bin coke cans and the rest of food. As I entered the premis, I was suddenly hit by an array of light emitting from the arcade. The air was crisp but not overpowering, and smelt of stale pizza and jungle gym. I enjoyed the fact that I was able to pick my own username. I would highly recommend playing at this facility for a superior game of laser tag. The young man stationed at the counter was able to aid me when I asked him if the water they served happened to be vegan. He also showed enxtensove knowledge when asked about the pH levels. They're fist aid kid also proved useful as me husband absolutely obliterate his groin. He will never walk again, but I shall be returning. read more

Booked a birthday party for our Son here and everyone had a blast. The entire experience was excellent. Easy to book and find information, great packages and value for your $$$. What can't be understated is the service! Oh wow, these people know how to host and make their guests feel welcome and taken care of. Manager always making sure all the kids were looked after and our our host was on top of it! It's a busy spot, and they handle the pressure like champions. Even making sure groups are distanced for Covid prevention. I highly recommend this place. The adults had a lot of fun too, some of us are planning an adult visit to play! read more

Great experience overall! staff were prompt, patient with the mass amount of kiddos and birthday parties on the go! The kids were kept busy with the arcade for the time befor the two rounds and the games were extremely organized and ran super effectively. The party rooms were clean and the pizza arrived hot and fresh! There was a fridge to store our large cake and a cart to keep all our stuff safe and sound while we played. I was even able to hang out in The maze to keep an eye on my kids while not playing myself. They loved I was a decoy. Will definitely do this again and was on the average range for costs! read more

What a wonderful experince! We had a birthday party for our 9 year old twin boys and everyone had a blast. We had chosen the Maxximum Birthday package with the Galactica room which included everything to make the party a spectacular experience. Our party was 15 family members in total and they were all blown away at the accommodations. Huge shout out to the staff for being ever so patient with the party planning, answering so many emails fill of questions and changes to the plans. My son was invited to a friend's birthday party at LaserMaxx Ottawa. It wasn't his first time there, and as always, he had a fantastic time playing laser tag with his friends. The game itself is exciting, well-organized, and a great way for kids to have fun and burn off energy. The only downside is the waiting area--it's quite dark, has a noticeable smell, and can get really noisy. A little improvement in ventilation and lighting would make the overall experience even better. Other than that, it's a great place for birthday parties, and my son always looks forward to going back! read more

The experience was great! The staff was very patient and efficient with their rules and instructions. My only complaint was that when we rented the party room, we were told each student would get 2 slices of pizza. Students did receive two slices of pizza, however, they seemed to be half slices, so they were incredibly small for the twenty seven 12 and 13 year-olds I had brought. For almost $1000, I would've hoped that students would have received a decent sized portion. Very impressed with the organization and timing of the party! It was our first birthday party experience there and because it was so loud/busy I worried about keeping things on time. The staff is all 100% on their toes and everything went so smoothly despite how chaotic everything is. Everyone was extremely helpful and responsive and honestly one of the best birthday party hosts in the city. I'm 26/27 and I haven't played laser tag in some years. My fiancée has never played, so I took her here for her birthday and we had a blast! The service here was quick, thorough and friendly. For anyone who hasn't done laser tag before, or was used to Laser Quest, this is the go-to place now. The price is good, the equipment is more advanced and it is lighter in weight. The arena is great too! They have tons of spots that you can scope people out from, which I'd imagine would work best if you had a bigger group. read more

I was a bit skeptical when I first walked in at LaserMaxx Ottawa because it was loud and a bit chaotic but the staff very quickly took charge of my group. From beginning to end they took care of everything and were very well organized. You can tell that they are seasoned employees who enjoy their work and the whole process went super smoothly.
