The only reason I gave 4 stars is because, she pulled off one of the nails because it didn't fit to her liking, and while I'm glad she wanted to make sure the outcome looked how she wanted, I am nervous that my nail might be damaged once this comes off. It was quite a tug and the nail bed didn't look great to me after. I'm nervous in general because of the filing. I don't typically get my nails done because they usually peel, no matter what method we use to soak them off.. but I'll wait and give it a fair shot to see how my nails respond after this set. I connected with Linsey due to a friend's referral in a Facebook Group and she was more than happy to add me to her calendar. Though this is more than a walk, it is still only a short drive from Midtown so not an issue. I used rideshare to get here this time due to my car being dangerous to drive, and it was still easily accessible. There's a road leading to the validated parking area that the rideshare drivers can pick you up and drop you off, since the road in front of the salon is a busy main road. I thought the offer of drinks was wonderful, and I accepted a mini water bottle. Linsey was super patient with me, as I requested her to make my tips shorter after we had finished filing. She was going fast, but I'm so impressed with the results. She even made it to her next appointment without being behind! We chose the four green colors for my set quite quickly as well, but I'm so glad with how they turned out. Hopefully these last long! The salon consistently feels cluttered, messy, and less than spotless. When you're trusting someone with services that involve being inches from your face, cleanliness shouldn't feel optional. Then there's the eyebrow service. Getting your brows done should be a little self-care moment--not like visiting a dominatrix. The technician is incredibly rough, to the point where I brace myself before every appointment. I leave with great eyebrows, perhaps, but also wondering why I feel like I've just survived a contact sport. I've gone back hoping maybe I caught them on an off day, but the experience has been remarkably consistent. A salon should leave you feeling refreshed, confident, and cared for. Instead, I leave relieved that it's over. Unfortunately, this is one beauty routine I'll be taking elsewhere.
