I usually go to Morningside Nail Bar, but due to short staffing, I was referred to their sister location--Piedmont Nails & Spa. Parking is free, but sharing the lot with other businesses makes finding a spot tricky--I just got lucky. Inside, it was extremely packed. For personal comfort with social distancing, I still prefer Morningside. PARKING (3/5): Parking is tricky. They have a small lot directly in front of the store that they share with the other businesses. I was worried I was going to get booted, but I asked the salon multiple times and they said as long as you don't leave the area you will be fine. They were right, my car was fine after my nail appointment 1-Hour later. But there are signs posted all over the salon to NOT LEAVE THE PREMIS OR YOU WILL GET BOOTED! Also, they have a parking garage that they validate across the street called AZURE ON THE PARK. They greet you, check you in, have you pick your color and seat you as soon as it's ready which is very quick. I've never seen such efficiency! They immediately ask if you want anything to drink. The turnaround time is impeccable and you don't feel rushed AT ALL, it just feels so organized. SUPER IMPRESSED! QUALITY (5/5): I got a regular pedicure (not gel) which the lowest pedicure cost $37 which I found fairly steep but I'm new to this area so I'm not sure if that's the average rate. I also got a gel builder manicure which cost me about $83 for a solid color and simple dot design. Everything took less than an hour which amazed me! I've never been in and out so quickly and it seemed like they took their time, we're very carful not to hurt or cut me and did an excellent job! OVERALL (4/5): HIGHLY would recommend this place! Nothing bad to say accept I should have made an appointment!! I arrived around 2:30 for a full set and pedicure. I was in the shop for 2.5 hours, again my fault for being a walk in. Song, did my pedicure and John, did my full set. Both were very kind, which I can appreciate because this is only my second time at the salon. I can appreciate the attention I get while spending my hard earned money. Margaret is always nice (usually working the front door) but very helpful when I am selecting my nail style and color. Would definitely go back, but probably not on a Saturday. I appreciate the beverage options also! This time I went cat eye blue on my nails and yellow on my toes. Margaret and Tiffany greet me with a big smile and immediately tell me "go pick out your color" as soon as I enter. They even keep me on trend with new designs and colors. I'm visiting Atlanta and needed to get my nails done I called this place and asked for nail (structured gel) gel pedicure and eyebrows. They were able to make my appointment the same day and within the time I needed. I sat down to get my pedicure and they also started doing my nails which have never been done before at other salons. I enjoyed it because it made my time there quicker. The 2 ladies did very well and moved at a great pace. The main thing I wanted to write a review about it Joanne (I believe that was her name) she did my toes and I sometimes get ingrown toenails from wearing sneakers. Often when others have removed them it usually is slightly painful but Joanne did so well I barely felt a thing and have never felt they were truly relieved until today. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and was very educational when helping me choose my base. I would give this a 5 star, but I was a little confused on the pricing. I called beforehand and was told that an acrylic short set was $47+. I went in to repair one nail and get a fill in with french tips and ended up paying $92 for the service. I will be giving them another try as they all seemed to be wonderful people, but I am very confused on how we managed to go up by $50 for just a fix, fill in, and very basic (if even considered one) design. I really hope to use them again and gain a little more clarity in the pricing process here. Wow what I just witnessed was utter disrespect from Marget. A young African American lady came in & needed her nail fixed for the second time today, & as I was watching Marget was rude & disrespectful refusing to fix the polish. She was insanely rude & exhibiting racist remarks to her. She recorded the phone coverversation of her being rude when she called earlier & Marget act like she didnt say "she was being a problem" & I can hear the young african American lady saying "how am I being a problem over & over" & marget just keep saying she was being a problem. Margaret was very welcoming and helpful and got me seated within 5 minutes of coming in (was a Wednesday morning, so not prime time for nails but they still had multiple customers). I came in for a gel pedicure and acrylic manicure and had them done by two techs at the same time. May (manicure) shaped my nails perfectly and did an excellent job. Lam (pedicure) was patient and attentive and got my feet in a much better place than they were before! I was in/out in under an hour and a half and enjoyed the experience overall. I got seated at 1:20 and no one started my pedicure until 1:40pm so I don't think an appointment means anything anymore. The main entrance is a mess now, there's boxes piled everywhere and it doesn't feel like anything like a spa anymore. I got sns and it was really bubbly and thick, not like it used to be. I asked to have it fixed and they definitely were helpful and made adjustments, but they said that it was a nonstandard request that I didn't want my sns to look bubbly. I also wasn't offered a drink this time. I am just really disappointed in how long it took and the final product on my nails. I'm giving two stars because I've been plenty of times and have had good experiences but I'm utterly disappointed this time. John did my full set service. He's done my nails before and they were fine. This time, he cut me DEEP on one finger. It started bleeding. He apologized but nothing was done in the moment. No offer to clean the wound, a bandaid, nothing. I had to ask for a band aid at checkout. A couple of hours after I left the salon I realized I had another finger with a deep gash in it. I didn't feel these things while they were happening unless I would have said something. It's almost like when you get a paper cut. You don't realize you have the cut until later when it starts to sting and irritate you. I called and when I began to explain what happened, the receptionist knew exactly who I was. For her to remember and it was almost 6 hours later says something. They asked me what I wanted them to do about it and I asked, what normally happens in this situation. I'm sure this isn't the first time this has happened. They offered a $10 credit for the next service which doesn't seem quite right. I'm not sure I'd want to come back. I'm not sure that I wanted a full refund either because I believe in paying people for their time. But a credit just quite seem like a remedy to me. I received follow-up calls asking for video and then they offered a $20 credit for next time, stating they don't do refunds. I was quite fed up at this point so obliged when I probably should've been more adamant. What I'm most disappointed in is that there was no accountability. They started the conversation with "I wish you would've told us" okay and I would have, had I realized. They also used gaslighting language stating "mistakes happen, you've been here plenty of times before and this hasn't happened". How about a "I'm so sorry this happened. This was our fault. We'll be making sure we do additional training to prevent future clients from getting hurt, etc. something" I get that mistakes happen and it's important to own up to them. A credit is not really helpful because I still have to patronize your establishment. Hopefully the cuts will heal well. Again, not sure I'll be back. We'll see. read more

I decided to give Piedmont a try after my roommate recommended them to me. However, I can't quite say I'd do the same if someone asked me for a place to get their nails/toes done. Here's why... PROS: - free parking lot - accepts walk ins - short wait time - friendly staff - reasonably priced I'm satisfied with my end result because my toes turned out great. However, I have a few gripes about the process... CONS: - messy/junky salon. Salons should be neat, clean and sanitary but this location didn't give me clean. It was newly shipped supplies everywhere on the side where I got my nails done. (The boxes were opened) and the space is already small so these items being out just made it overcrowded and hard to walk w/out turning side ways to get to places. - rushed services. While short wait times are appreciated I realized once I got in the chair that those short waits were accompanied by rushed services. At no point was I able to relax and enjoy the luxury of getting a pedicure because my tech (Tina) was going so fast that in some places she was dig to far or file down to fast and burn/scratch me. She also didn't every scrub my feet b/c I still had dead skin when I returned home. Clearly I don't have bad feet, I take good care of my feet but to pay $60 (including a tip) and corners were cut tremendously makes me never want to go here again. - lack of detail I asked Tina to file down one of my nails w/ the drill b/c that's how I also get it but instead of her doing that she files with a handheld file and got a little huffy when I asked her to go back. All in all, I more than likely won't go back willingly but I'll keep this location in mind if I need a last minute back up spot. read more

Katie is a nail tech at this shop who completely ignored me while she was doing my nails. I REPEATEDLY stopped her throughout the process to explain the shape and the design I was going for to no avail. She had her earphones in and was visibility irritated by my presence and interruptions. What bothers me the most though is that she literally refused to speak to me. She would grab management as through I was some sort of problem child when all I was doing is asking her questions. It felt awful being treated like I was subhuman and when I tried to talk to management they laughed and hung up on me. I took my wife here to get her nails done for her birthday and she decided that me getting a pedicure (because I'm a man who works for a living with feet that reflect it) would be an additional birthday present. For background context, I had two nails on previous set that I had been filling for months break on me while traveling & I was less than confident my actual natural nails could be preserved. I seriously opened this phone conversation with "I'm having an acrylic crisis & I need someone to help me that knows what they're doing. You can't just give me someone that's really good at SNS... This is a personal preference of mine during our pandemic but I do not like that businesses do not have a standard maximum count. I think it's trifling but moving on. The techs moved fast, and I must say Vincent was so fast and gentle with my feet. I literally didn't even realize he was finished when he was! Amazing work. John - was awesome! Very friendly, quick, and did a decent job on my nails. Overall, great experience. Called the salon around 10 AM Friday this morning just to double check that they had availability for me to come in with my boyfriend. We both wanted two pedicures and I wanted a manicure and possibly SNS, they confirmed they had availability so I came in around 12:30 PM. There were not a lot of people, they were able to seat us fairly quickly. They started on my toes and Carmen shortly came over after to work on my dip powder nails, she did an amazing job, she was very quick & precise and made sure that I liked my length before laying any dip powder down. She filed them for me very nicely, they look really good I'm very satisfied and a happy customer. I'm visiting from out of town so I am happy that I have chosen to go to Piedmont nails and spa. She's has "worked wonders on Myra's feet" ! She's gentle and super-friendly, but most importantly precise and sanitary! We later moved to the Kennesaw/Marietta area and decided the commute was too much. When I recently transferred to my Buckhead office I started going to see Tom again and couldn't be happier. I was there yesterday for a gel mani and gel pedi which was $98. I think it's a fair price for the services. The salon has an abundance of polish colors in a variety of finishes (standard polish, gel polish, and sns). I've never had issues with cleanliness or staff. I initially went here based off of their reviews. I was HIGHLY disappointment not so much in their work but their sanitation. Not only for Ga state board of cosmetology requirements should they be following protocol....but we are in the middle of a dealing with COVID right now so you would think they are taking extra precautions. They are REUSING their nail files, buffers, pumice stones, etc on everyone. No cleaning, disinfecting or anything in between. I watched one lady dry off the pumice after using it on a lady's foot and put it right back in her basket. My lady seemed surprised when I asked her for all new DISPOSABLE files and one use items. My nail tech also pulled out a dirty, old, Advil bottle with a liquid in it to get off my excess polish.
