We did buy a tiny souvenir from one dude, but I was really disappointed that none of the vendors had decent keepsakes. Some of the stuff on the shelf was a bit overpriced too, been there done that. The Island Mall is connected to a brewery and a few other island themed restaurants owned by the steakhouse at the corner of the property. Only two of these restaurants were open during midday. Many of the rocks were collected locally by Club members or donated to the Club. Kathy was volunteering during our visit. She was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly to us as we tried to learn about the geology of the area. We purchased several rocks. Prices are reasonable and support a good cause. What an absolute gem of a Gift and Interiors Shop-it was full of all kinds of unique and exotic gift ideas. I am not into Southwest Interior Design per se, but I can appreciate how it fits into homes that are out here in the desert region. A lot of the Interior home items are very austere and minimal. There were gorgeous wrought iron-designed wall items and beautiful sculptural crosses-which I like to collect. What was really cool was the detailed wine glasses for sale-Birthday, Divorce, and even a Sangria-detailed one. A lot of what was for sale was way beyond what my budget was allowing but it sure was fun to browse and enjoy the store. A girl like myself could get into a lot of trouble in a place like this! I like the selection of flavors. Ice cream doesn't have freezer burn on it like other locations. Just saying. We came in today and got 6 double scoops to take home. I love that everyone can get exactly what they want . It was a perfect afternoon treat after a long hot day on the lake. Kids are all very happy about their frozen treat tonight.

They serve thrifty ice cream, and they got what we Latinos call "raspados"or shaved ice all for less than 2 bucks. The ice cream cone is only about 3 bucks. Today they were sold out of items I wanted so I chatted with the lady working and she was very polite and helpful. Was able to tell me they just placed an order for more stuff. She offered to hold items I needed for me when they come in. But I told her no problem I'll be back in a few weeks so I'll check back in with her and see what they have. I'm willing to wait because prices are so competitive and they are so nice and friendly.
