One of my favorite go-to's when visiting Oxford. The staff has always been phenomenal. Pizza is good. Vibes are spot-on. Daiquiri's are worth trying and refreshing. Good drink selection. Location doesn't get any better as far as the square. My biggest complaint is there is no draft beer selection. It does get pretty busy at peak times (games, events, etc.) which sometimes make it impossible to get into and/or get a seat - I've been in there before when it's shoulder-to-shoulder. Any given weekend night it is typically pretty active. The bartenders aren't too shabby and they tend to keep the drinks flowing. In my experience the daiquiris aren't always too consistent, but they get the job done. It's hard to find a great bar that also serves great food, but Funkys manages to nail it. While they're mostly known for their bar scene, I truly believe they have the best pizza in Oxford. If you're the type of person who wants to be where to people are but don't want to be surrounded by JUST college kids, I'd definitely recommend Funkys. read more

At your place, two literally did nothing to me or my wife, who gets drunk on one beer. You might want to check on what your employees are doing. We saw one of them adding plastic milk jugs of mix into the blenders, and zero alcohol was going in with it. I am 54 years old and I tried to enter Funkys to meet my wife and a few others. I was wearing a baseball hat backwards and a young boy met me at the door with the worst of manners and said to me that I would have to turn my hat around. I asked him for what reason and he said that it was just there policy so I said really, its a bar and he smarted off to me and said if you don't like it then you need to leave so I reluctantly turned my hat around and proceeded to enter and he stopped me again and told me that I needed to throw my water cup away. So once again I asked why and he told me that I couldn't bring outside beverages into there bar so I turned around and left texting my wife that I would not be joining her. After leaving I thought about it and no where near the front door were any of these rules published. I will never be returning to Funkys. If they are going to have rules then they need to be published and they need a better spokesperson that a young disrespectful boy at the front door. read more

If you're about some daiquiris, this is the joint for you. We were on our way back from NOLA and decided to make a pit stop in Oxford. The restaurant we intended to dine in was closed for the day so we though why not try some pizza and daiquiris? I know this is going to sound weird, but after trying their blue daiquiri I could tell that they clean their machines. I had a bad experience way back when from a place that didn't clean there's and let's just say that it was bad. The bartender here was very nice and made us feel well taken care of even though he had his hands full with the college crowd. We sipped on our daiquiris for a bit till we decided on the BBQ pizza. It was HUGE and well worth the $20. I loved the thin, flavorful crust and rhe tasty sauce. All in all, we had a good experience here. My main problem was with the college kids literally falling out of chairs, yelling and just being blatantly drunk. But what can you do? read more

Made the mistake of going here thinking it had good food when we looked up pizza on Yelp. Didn't realize until we were already in that it's a bar. My son was starving and there were not many people so we stayed. Couldn't get service since we were not drinking. When we were almost done I asked for the check. Sat there forever waiting for the waiter to run my card. Finally got tired of waiting so I left cash under the salt and pepper shaker. We were way up the street when I hear someone running after us yelling "hey lady you didn't pay your tab". Boy he picked the wrong lady. I told him just as publicly that if he had provided any type of service he would have known the tab was paid. Do NOT waste your money on this place. Was so disappointed in this place! We were in Oxford for a few days and a friend had said this was such a cool place! We went in and the entire place was empty. Not one person working acknowledged that we were there! We grabbed a table and sat for over 5 minutes without anyone coming up to us or telling us you had to go up to the bar to order. Funky's is my place. I'm not the "going out to the bars" type, but I do love me some Funky's. I love chilling there on the weekends watching games and eating pizza (which is pretty damn good for bar pizza). Their open on Sunday's and being there on a Sunday afternoon is a treat. It isn't overflowing with drunk college kids, but there's just a few of us chilling with daiquiris and our dogs (they're dog friendly on Sunday's). They make quality drinks that aren't overpriced and have the nicest bar staff on the square. Funky's is the crown jewel of the Oxford bar scene. read more

One that looks and feels like an actual bar which is always a plus in my book. Decent selection of bottles and brews with the added bonus of having a wall of daiquiri machines. Visited the Ole Miss Square during a conference. The place was nice & spacious. The only thing I would recommend was a DJ to play music. The other venues had one and after we got our drinks, we left to the venues with live music. Other than that, the drinks are enough to get your fun night started. read more

I've been to funkys several times, they have the best pizza I've probably ever had BUT on multiple occasions the waiters have been extremely rude. The ladies are usually pretty nice, but for the most part the males have a sense of either entitlement or just blatantly rudeness. Was in town visiting my daughter who attends Ole Miss, she always goes to Funkys with her friends and they all and wanted to hang out there. I was a little reluctant at first but after we got there we had a blast! Great drinks, great atmosphere and great pizza! Bar tenders were wonderful and able to handle the crowds. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was super friendly and welcoming. Didn't feel out of place at all, great mix of all ages! Definitely recommend Funkys if your in oxford! read more
