We entered and left our name and then were told to wait outside until our name was called. The wait was only maybe 10 minutes. We were seated and given menus and began our perusing. We settled on a sample app, a bowl of gumbo, a small fried catfish dinner and a country fried pork meal. The sample was quick to arrive, hush puppies, boneless chicken wings, catfish nuggets and fried shrimp. Everything was hot and delicious. The entrees arrived shortly after. The catfish dinner was hot and delicious, the fries with rotella were also hot and delicious and the baked beans were also good. The country fried pork was cooked well and also hot and delicious and crunchy. The gravy was flavorful and the side of okra and fries were also tasty. We finished the meal with a slice of pecan pie with ice cream. The ice cream is absolutely delicious and the pie was great too. I will note, this is the south, salt is used liberally on everything down here and Taylor Grocery is no exception. So be warned, it will have a bold salty flavor if you're eating fried foods here.
