This place is fun for the kids with the exception of one thing--the creeper running the big slide. We were by the slide during the 2PM time on 4/15. The man kept leaving the slide to creep on teen girls and moms waiting nearby. At one point he hit on a group of underage girls and then allowed them to cut the entire line of children who had been waiting 20+ minutes. He did this all while the young children he was supposed to be monitoring were being dragged to the top of the slide. A member of my group went to report this inappropriate and negligent behavior to the manager, who acted like it wasn't a big deal that this adult male was leaving his post to creep on underage girls. I know workers are hard to find these days, but are you willing to be this desperate Funtopia? read more

This is the second time this year I am having horrible time with front desk at funtopia Naperville. The front desk representative has no customer service attitude. I am showing the filled waiver form for my daughter in my phone and she refuses to look into it and instead keep on insisting it that she couldn't find in the system and asking me to fill it again at the kiosk. That's exactly what happened last they ruined my daughter's birthday asking me to fill up the waiver for all the 20 kids again and made all of us wait for 20 mins even though everyone filled it before. This time I refused and demanded to speak to the manager. He was immediately able to locate it in the system. Why is she not trained to look properly. The management here is horrible. They threatened to throw my husband out when he said that while promotional value on our Groupon expired, the amount paid never expires. It's literally written on the Groupon in black and white! He was showing the manager, Jonah where it said that on the Groupon and Jonah threatened to kick him out. This was after talking to a female manager that said "we never do anything with expired Groupons, you need to go to the them and ask them for a refund". Why participate with a discount company if you aren't going to follow the contract you agree to? I can tell you why, becasue it takes time to follow up with Groupon and most people won't bother, They are overpriced and a lot of their equipment was broken as well. This is our second time here. The kids had fun, no doubt about that. But what disturbs me is the cleanliness of this place. Both times I've been here it's been filthy. I don't understand why the staff is not continuously cleaning during the day. A little vacuuming and scrubbing of the pieces that are used to grip are disgusting. Also, it would be nice if the buttons all worked on the walls...all the kids I saw were trying to use them. read more

Recently paid for a Birthday Party for my son here. Although the kids had a great time I will never have another party here . My party host that I paid for was pretty much gone the entire party. She brought the food then disappeared. I had to serve the kids. Another host tried to offer her assistance but my party host declined it. I later found out my host was booked for 2 parties . This was not fair to my son and his guest! My party host was suppose to take all of the kids to the large slide, she Failed to do this. Another worker explained to me that my host was supposed to do this unfortunately she did not. I was unfortunately stuck with a worker that complained the entire time. read more

My daughter and one of her friends came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon to climb. We had been to the Funtopia in Glenview several times, but this was the first time experiencing this location. The Naperville location feels bigger and definitely has more things to do than the Glenview location. My daughter really enjoyed the ninja course and the ropes course. The only thing that I can think of that would make this place better is more staff out on the floor to help the kids hook and unhook their harnesses. In Glenview there seemed to always be staff nearby to help the kids with their harnesses, but I did not see any staff walking around helping the kids at this location, so myself and the other mom had to follow our kids the whole time to help them on and off the walls. read more

This is a must-try experience for any kids that like to climb on things. For adults, too. We had a great time there for 1.5 hours and used up every bit of that time, not bored for a second. For smaller kids, younger kids, or kids that aren't so good at climbing, they might not have much fun here. Took my younger cousins there before everything shut down (and I just now had time to write this). The staff was not looking after their areas, there was garbage all over, and the ninja course was flooded with kids. When I asked the "Operations Manager" he looked at me and rolled his eyes. Where do I start? 1. It's only for kids that love heights so if your child is afraid of heights, NOT the place. If your child loves heights, STILL not the place, and that brings me to number 2. My son opted for the obstacle course area and like kids do, jumped and fell. Only he fell on a METAL peg sticking out from the bounce ball and his leg began to immediately bruise and swell. So that brings me to number 3. They DON'T HAVE ICE IN THE BUILDING and it took them 20 minutes to figure that out. 4. Birthday packages are for two hours. That's one hour of play and one hour to sit in the party room. The kids at pizza and cupcakes for a whole hour and were not allowed to go play when they finished in less than 20 minutes. (Total waste of money!) 5. They ran out of cake and failed to tell us this before arriving so the father of the party had to make a run to jewel to get cupcakes last minute. Good thing the other parent was there to supervise or the birthday boy would have missed blowing out candles on his birthday. 6. They don't have a water fountain and refused to give the kids a cup of water when they got thirsty. They made us buy THEIR branded "Funtopia" water. Then proceeded to make me throw my water bottle that I brought from home, away. Or I had to 'stand outside' and drink it, leaving my child unattended?! 7. Overall the place had a large staff BUT none of the staff were helpful. The clips the kids use to rock climb are too hard for little hands to use so the parents had to follow their kids around and help them clip their harness on while the staff just stood there and watched. One of the guys in our group was walking with a cane and it was clear he needed assistance yet no one offered to even help him. I will never go back and I don't suspect they'll be there very long if they don't accommodate or make adjustments to their operation. read more

This was a very different experience, but my nephew has a blast. I was a little upset initially that there's not much supervision when the kids are in line to do some of the obstacle courses. A little boy got in front of my nephew and no one said anything. I had to jump in and make him get in the back of the line. Also, this same little boy tried to shake the ropes as my nephew was going across. Again, I shouldn't have to tell make this kid chill out. An alternative to the abundance of trampoline related activities in the local area, it initially looks inviting with any number of rock climbing walls. However........ Booked a group of 8 last weekend for daughter's birthday party and paid up front. In the days leading up to the event, I was called twice by them, to confirm our time. By.....them.....and she said "we show 7......7am". Well Sheeeee----itttttttt. since you're not open at 7, that's gotta be wrong....right ?!?! Got there for the 3pm and the dead eyed clerk says "will that be cash or credit?", to which I replied "Neither", because we already paid for it. Had to wait for my wife to show up with the receipt on her phone so we could get our stickers. A short time later, I spoke with the broken front toothed employee about the possibility of a discount, since 2 days after we booked ,I received a promotional email offering 30 minutes free if booked between 7/10 - September. I got the patented script of "No" followed by a bunch of other public education verbiage and I just walked away. We won't be back. read more

Fun place and nice staff! We went two times last week because my kids had such a fun time. Groupon makes the pricing very affordable, especially with more than one child. The staff was very friendly from when I called to find out wait times to when I checked in. There is staff all around to help kids hook themselves up and get unhooked, if needed. Being summer months, it wasn't very crowded at all and my kids got on everything they wanted to without a wait. Great place and great exercise for the kids! read more

Today was the best day of my brother's life! He needed help on a ton of stuff but there was a VERY nice and helpful employee named Andrew who did everything he could to get my brother on the sky zone and helped us on the Big Slide. He also at the end while me and my brother were taking off our harnesses he asked us what flavor ice cream we liked and then proceeded to buy my brother the ice cream flavor he wanted with his own money. Took my 6 year old grandson there yesterday. He loved it and it was his first time at a place like this. I'll have to admit most kids were in school as my grandson's school hadn't started yet. There were only a few people there which was good for my timid little guy. The young man working the floor was very good and took my little guy for a tour and helped him get confidence on the ninja course. It was a really great experience for him and me. I took six kids on a weekend adventure (11,8,5), and they all loved it. There were age-appropriate walls for all if them. It was sometimes difficult to get the clip to latch properly, but there were several workers walking around to assist. We will definitely visit here again - my kids are already asking! read more

Last week was the first time we visited funtopia and I was not having the best day but the staff was friendly and attentive. My son started climbing right away but my daughter was very nervous at first but an employee named Stephanie was very helpful and offered to do the high ropes with my daughter, she had a blast. Our teenagers loved the facility and variety of activities! The first day (Friday) we bought the Groupon unlimited day passes; they climbed for 2.5 hours, we went out to dinner and then they climbed another hour. Then the next day we bought another Groupon and enjoyed it again. The front desk manager on Friday was very friendly and helpful when asked. However, the staff is mostly young kids with little supervision. Most of them spent their time standing around chatting with each other. My biggest complaint is that the staff didn't interact with the customers, didn't encourage climbers or offer suggestions to successfully navigate the more difficult obstacles. On Saturday the facility was very full and each section of the ninja course really needed to be supervised as lots of the younger kids just layed on the landing pillow and didn't get out of the way as others were coming through and falling. It was a accident waiting to happen. If you're bringing young kids be prepared to supervise and assist as the staff doesn't do much of that. read more

We had our 8 year old son's birthday party here last week. We picked it because he had so much fun on the climbing walls and ninja course a few weeks ago. The birthday packages are set to have 1hr of play time and 1 hr of birthday party room time for pizza and cake. I thought the kids would be able to move from room to course after eating like other kids birthday venues. Once we got back to the room the kids had to take off their harnesses and get ready to eat. Within 30 minutes the pizza and cake were eaten and we were stuck in the room for another 1/2 hour. It was a nightmare I will never do again. This was the most expensive birthday party we have done for our son in the past three years and it was worst experience being stuck in that room. I would have given it a 1 star if it wasn't so fun in the first hour. read more

Came with a Groupon deal, which made it pretty affordable. Kids loved it, though one hour was plenty to do everything a few times over - so I don't recommend staying longer than that. My younger child had a difficult time with the harness clips (and they didn't explain to us how to hook/unhook them when we came in, so I had to go find someone to ask for help)... anyway, I had to stay with the little one at all times to hook/unhook and just try to keep my eye out for the older one at a distance who was off and running (and climbing) immediately. Great place for kids who like to climb because there really is nothing else to do except that (toddler room is completely separated from climbing area, so you'd have to be in either one place or the other with kids - not able to watch/be near both). read more

Came here with my brother and his kids while visiting my hometown. Really wish we had a place like this growing up and also one nearby where I live now. Kids absolutely loved the independence of the hook/unhook and climb feeling. There is a cool obstacle course as well. My daughter, who was not quite old enough to do the climbs, played in the toddler area which she seemed to enjoy...even though I really preferred to watch the other kids climb / run through the obstacle challenge. Either way, this place was one of my highlights to our trip and would definitely like to come back again next time we visit. It's a fun place for kids 6 to maybe 12-13. A few courses might be quite challenging for smaller kids. It's definitely interesting and requires a fairly good physical strength and coordination (kids level speaking) i would not recommend for small kids less then 5. Google listed that this location opened at 9am, so I got the kids up early so we could be among the first to arrive. When we got there, sign on the door says they open at 10am. No worries...that was my bad for not checking the official website for the times. So we shop around the area and come back at 10am. Still not open. We shop a little more around the area and come back again at 10:30am. Still not open. At this point we are irritated and decide not to support a place that doesn't open when they say it opens. At least put a sign out on the door so customers are in the know of proper operating hours. We could see plenty of employees inside clearly avoiding our gaze. So disappointing because my daughters were really looking forward to doing some climbing. I have my doubts about this place remaining open for much longer with the current business strategy they have. Wish I could have reviewed it from the inside. read more

Our family has checked this place out twice, on a rainy days. Once at their Glenview location. And once in Naperville. Hands down - Naperville wins!!!! There's so much more offered here! And our experience was awesome! What a fun place to go! We had an appointment and felt that the check-in process was quick and painless. Our appt was made for 1pm on a weekday and the place did have lots of other customers. But I didn't feel it was intensely crowded. We were able to move around with ease and never had to wait for anything, except the "big red slide". Which my kids happily waited for - it was awesome - despite me thinking they'd be nervous. The entire experience was slightly pricey for our group of five. (Perhaps I'll simply take pics, on future trips here.) Still can't believe how big the place is or all the activities you can do at Naperville versus Glenview. Totally different sized venues. The ropes and ninja courses were my faves, as well as my 9yr old's. And all of our kids (ages 4 to 9) we're totally into the rock walls, big red slide and the ropes course - heights and all! I was stunned that they got over any fear of heights so quickly! And I was super proud of them. We have some fantastic pics and videos from this experience! Things to note: the "big red slide" costs a little extra.... ask to view that happening, before paying for it. Young kids might be nervous. And there ARE height limits for the ropes and ninja courses.... so be prepared for possible limitations.... my 6yr old was a little bummed that he was too short for the ninja zone area. But he was tall enough for the ropes course and really loved it - so he quickly got over his initial disappointment. Remember to hit the bathrooms before getting harnessed and then get ready to climb like spider man! Parents - get those cameras ready! If your kids are willing to give this place a try, then you won't regret adding Funtopia to your family's bucket list! We had a great time! read more
